Hiawatha is a residential reminder of small-town America, seemingly forgotten under the granite skyline of the Twin Cities. One of five neighborhoods in the Longfellow Community, Hiawatha has long been a location those who want access to the metropolis and the Midwest comforts of a safe, quiet home.
Bordered by the Mississippi River on the east and Hiawatha Avenue on the west, Hiawatha tapers into the expansive acres of Minnehaha Park. You'll find leafy streets with well-kept houses, restored buildings, and businesses that have been in the families for generations.

Property Ratings at Oaks Hiawatha Station
You can't reach the manager via email or phone. Does not respond to either. 2 weeks in and still can't get her to add name for door access. I like the walk down from the 4th floor. Other requests are acknowledged and then nothing. I used to live here about 10 years ago with great management. Now, it's beyond bad. REALLY regret moving here. Also would like my packages but because NO ONE is ever in the office it's tough. I might have to call the emergency number just to see if anyone actually works here.

My wife and I lived at Oaks Hiawatha for 4 years and have just recently moved out as we purchased a home due to our growing family. We enjoyed living there! Friendly staff, respectful neighbors, large and like-new apartments, clean building and priced just right for what you get. There are not many amenities in the building, but that seems to be normal for city living. One thing that we will never forget.. a couple of months back our neighborhood was hit hard by storms and our building was without electricity for almost a full week. The staff kept a close communication with all residents, making sure everyone was okay and comfortable. They even gave every unit $200.00 cash to help stock our refrigerators again once the electricity was back up and running! Now, if that isn't awesome customer service, I don't know what is. The only downfall is there is a Snap Fitness attached to the building. We were on the 2nd floor and could hear when people would slam their weights down at any given time of the day or night. Other than that, we have absolutely no issues and we enjoyed living there and will continue to recommend Oaks Hiawatha to our friends and family. Thank you Oaks!

We are so happy to hear that your experience at Oaks Hiawatha Station has been enjoyable. Thank you for being a part of our community.
Be very careful with this one. Although, the location is outstanding and the building looks nice from a distance, there are many hassles here. First of all, be thorough when you read the lease as property managers have not been honest during discussion. Three property managers have come and gone in the last five months, and they all have been difficult. They also are frequently absent and don't answer the phone. Once you do reach a property manager, you'll have to ask two or three times before they follow through on sending someone to resolve a maintenance issue. Utilities are much more expensive here than other places of similar size in Minneapolis...especially air conditioning because they use wall units that aren't very effective, and you'll find that it is uncomfortably warm in the interior hallways during summer. The only option for high-speed internet access is CenturyLink. If you do move here, make sure to get a unit on the first floor as the elevator is a solid test for even the most patient souls. I remember a time when I was so excited to be calling this place home because of the location, and now I wish it never happened and can't wait till my lease is over.
