Stayed here for 2yrs; had horrific experiences with thefts, sewage stench, and roach infestation! Woke up every morning to overpowering sewage stench, and when I reported to the leasing office, they made up some idiotic story and did nothing. The pricing might seem reasonable, but you soon realize you're being robbed blind, given the apartments' state and disgusting ambience! My greatest renting mistake; but lesson learned!

Hello I currently have been living here for about 6 months now, and I have not have any issues maintenance staff is always accurate in fixing stuff and office staff is really nice and professional. The units are big and spacious for the price and location is close to the medical center.

First, the staff on the office is very rude and unprofessional. They like to walk through your house when you’re not home. They also lie about charges and money owed. They charged me twice for the same thing and didn’t give me a refund. The apartments are loud and rowdy, you don’t feel safe at night. There is a security booth, but no security guard, I heard the security guard they had was shot. Not a good place to call home, if you see this place on a list when apartment shopping, keep going!

the oaks of Charleston was the worst play to stay. The never fix anything they just come look at it to say that came out, they are disorganized in the office and show no care or concern for their residents. The attitudes are unpleasant the total experience was unpleasant and I knew with in 2 months into moving in I had a make a big mistake
All bad reviews are true. They have a infestation of roaches. Rude staff every time you interact with them & outdated appliances. Please look elsewhere for apartments. Slow to send maintenance to your apartment. Water always need fixing so you are unable to use water for days at a time.
Anyone giving this place a good review is lying. This is the absolute worst place to live. You can hear gun shots at night. If you order a package 9/10 it will end up with a neighbor and if they are nice enough they will bring you your box. Roaches are crawl from every corner. Management is LAZY with horrific attitudes. They are nice until you sign the lease. The allocated water bill is $60.xx! They find any little thing to count as a lease violation. As if these apartments being open isn’t a violation within itself. If I could give this apartment a negative rating I would. Do yourself a favor and don’t come to this dump.
This place is infested with bedbugs and cockroaches. You can never get rid of the bb because they live inside the walls.
Very satisfied with Oaks of Charleston. Pros: Very good price for being so close to the Medical Center Office staff very friendly and helpful Maintenance requests are addressed SUPER FAST Lots of space for a 1 bedroom Parking is good (in the back of the complex at least) Doesn't flood Cons: Kitchen appliances functional but old Potholes in parking lot Possums/raccoons around dumpsters (other residents don't put trash in dumpster even though trash pickup is very regular and dumpsters never overflow) Depending on what building you live in loud children(but leasing office will handle it really well if you complain) Really good value for the price. I lived in another apartment managed by Michael stevens and theyre really on point.
Spacious bedrooms and living area. Kitchen appliances are a bit outdated but durable. As most apartments the rent constantly increases making the location overpriced. I plan to move once my lease is up next year. Rent payment grace period was very inconvenient with my job's pay dates. After the 2nd of the month you're subject to pay a $75 late fee plus $10 more each day. No washer/dryer connections. Parking lot has awful potholes & raccoons, cats and possums lurk around the community dumpster. It's a tolerable complex but could still use more work.
it is a great apartment that is clean and well managed. The office are very prompt in dealing with issues and complaints.
Convenient location, management could be better in organizations and getting issued resolved. Well maintained apartments and fair price for rent.
