Westchase is largely known as a business district, and many of the local residents are corporate professionals seeking to avoid the long, traffic-laden commutes that Houston is known for. The community is home to numerous office buildings, with a popular shopping area along Westheimer Road and several medical centers and schools in the mix as well. The rental market includes a variety of property styles, from swanky country club homes to modest efficiency apartments, catering to the needs of the diverse local workforce.
Golf courses and large public parks around Westchase are popular among locals seeking time outdoors, particularly the trails around Arthur Storey Park. Houston’s Chinatown is nearby, and Asian cultural influences contribute to a unique environment. Downtown Houston is only a short drive to the east, and the sprawling George Bush Park is just a quick hop away as well.

Property Ratings at Oaks of Westchase
Worst place I have ever lived. I am just going to make a bullet pointed list because it is easier that way. - Car and friends cars got his multiple times in the parking lot. Of course wasn't able to be helped by any staff even though I literally saw cameras facing my car - ROACHES galore. The worst infestation and nothing will work to get rid of them. They are never-ending and it is so BAD -Someone literally got shot in the front entrance to the apartment and management kept that from us - Literal raccoons living in the ceiling above my apartment and underneath the second floor. I could hear them scurrying around every single day and it was disgusting - My apartment flooded because of my ac breaking and leaking. All of my carpet in my bedroom and closet and hallway were destroyed. My clothes were destroyed. and NO ONE CAME TO FIX IT. Since I was about to move out I told them forget it at this point. So for the last few weeks I was walking around on a soaked carpet. In the end even though I deep cleaned my apartment I GOT CHARGED FOR THE CARPET DAMAGE even when I reached out to get it repaired and no one came. This apartment is hell on earth. Do not live here. It's trash and horrible and will never get better. They are better off just tearing it all down and starting over.
If I could give this property 0 starts I would. Do not I repeat do not move here, this property is disgusting from roach problems to dumpsters so overfilled it takes up peoples parking spaces. And don’t get me started on the AC units. AC does not work and we live in mf houston. And when you call to tell them it’s not working the maintenance will just tell you to lower the temperature and it will eventually cool off. They won’t replace the unit because they say since it still kinda cools off they won’t bother. Been dealing with no AC for months now. Already terminated my lease early. DO NOT MOVE HERE.
This place is trash, the security gates have never been fixed and are always open. The people in the office are so incompetent that nothing is ever fixed or resolved. This place is far from safe to live in. Drug deals happen, shootings around the area are bound to happen, the other residents or quests of residents are not very thoughtful to their neighbors. This is a total waste dump and far too expensive for what actually goes on here
I’ve lived here for 8 months and living here has been a horrible experience. The apartment complex is infested with roaches and rodents. The complex does not do anything about this issue. My apartment has a really bad roach issue, I have let the complex know and they have sent pest control, but that didn’t fix the issue. They’ve given up on trying to help me. My apartment also has a rodent living in my walls, I have let the complex know but they haven’t done anything about it. I have sent them multiple emails that have never been replied, I have also called them and they never answer. The complex let’s their dumpsters fill up with trash and leave it overflowing for days. There are stray cats, raccoons, opossums, and rats around the dumpsters. This is a huge safety issue is you plan on moving here with pets or children. In the past month there has been a shooting, and someone died. The complex did not care about this, they just said that “there was criminal activity.” The shooting happened during the day, during a time when people are walking their dogs and watching their kids play. It happened within the entrance of the complex. I do not feel safe here, it isn’t safe. The complex does not care about their residents, they just want new residents to trap for a year. They don’t even care about the complex, the sidewalks here flood every time it rains. I’ve been told that some of the buildings have foundation issues that the complex knows about. Do not move here, your quality of life will decrease. There are better apartments to spend your money and to live at then here. This place is not worth the frustration and stress of living here.
Im giving this place 0 stars. Moving here was a bad experience for me as this was the first place I've lived at in Houston. I wouldn't recommend anyone to move here. The apartments across the street are night and day compared to these apartments. 1st I want to say I am glad that I am out of my lease. I feel like a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders but this place doesn't care about its residents all they care about is rent. We have to pay for valley trash that never gets picked up on time. The entrance gate is always broken so random people are always in and out of the apartment complex. My car was broken into twice and the apartment complex did nothing about it. Residents here never pick up after their dogs and the apartments doesn't care. They are quick to charge late fees but are not quick to fix an issue with the apartments and they had possums and chickens walking around the complex. If you ever think about moving here run and re consider
This place is truly an amazing place to live not only because it is kept clean, and it’s a very calm place, but also because the staff is very patient, welcoming, helpful, and hardworking. I enjoy living here because it is a calm place and all the people living in this apartment complex are very nice. I encourage anyone who is considering to move to this apartment complex to do it. You wound regret your decision.
Great, easy move. Super friendly staff. They made everything simple for us. We truly appreciate it. You guys should totally lease here.
This property seems to make a point in being unprofessional about many things. Moving is was a hassle. They changed my moving date, and fell to tell me. The worse part, is they do not feel they've done anything wrong. They never accept responsibility for anything and The customer service is non-existent. One reason I chose this place is also because it is gated. however, the gate has been broken and wide open for the public to come in and vandalize. Still, I have been lied to with "the gate will be back running next week". That was more than a month ago. Needless to say the vibe and spirit of this place is horrible. Do not move here. The features even say smoke free and often, all I smell is smoke.
Love this place! My best friend lives here & I visit them all the time, I love that it's always so clean & that the ladies in the office are always welcoming! They are always smiling and laughing in there! My friend hasn't ever had any problems while living here, so good job!
Management changes occur often. Current assistant manager jess is very rude. There is a Lack of communication to residents. The apartments are old and run down. Not like the pictures show at all. you will end up paying any extra 100.00 in fees every month for no reason. Roaches are all over. Cats everywhere. Not at all what I thought. You barely see negative reviews because they call tenants and try to persuade them to take them down.
My husband and I relocated from North Carolina to Houston. From the beginning, Leslie helped us throughly via phone which made the process of moving so much more efficient. She was very patient and understanding no matter how many times we called the office. Although we faced a small hiccup moving day, Maggie (a.k.a Maggie the Magnificent) was truly the best! She was at the office by herself, but still held a high level of professionalism as my husband and I watched her juggle various tasks. Despite the technical difficulties and hectic demands, she made sure we moved in on the same day. My husband and I appreciated her diligence to help us, it truly left a great impression. Both ladies were amazing in assisting us and made our transition to Texas worthwhile. If you are worried about being in good hands--don't! As long as those ladies are here, you have nothing to worry about.
