Property Ratings at Oakwood Townhomes
My a/c hasn’t been working for over 2 weeks and the office doesn’t care. There are 6 units without ac. One unit has window acs that the resident bought on their own, don’t rent here, stay away!!!!!!!!!!!!! They won’t even call an ac company to fix the units without ac, they don’t care about their residents!!!!
Muy mala atencion él oficina siempre está cerrada para resolver un problema de apartamentos demoran meses .
Rental Price sounds appealing from the outside, but stay there a week and you wish you hadn't signed the year lease. ALL that has been shared by the following reviewers has been spot on. Fitness Center is a joke (never saw it clean), Business area has maybe one or two computers that work but be prepared to wait for them while in use by unsupervised children, Pool is disgusting, Trash is collected but you wouldn't know by the overflowing dumpsters and littering all over the grounds. When you move in carpet is supposed to be replaced for the new tenant but while I was living there saw it changed only a few times with the revolving door tenant exchange that is common in this development. Kitchen cabinets are dated ply-board that are in poor condition. Appliances are at least 15 yrs old and VERY used. Kitchen, bathrooms and front entry flooring is cheap laminate wood-like flooring that has been stacked upon stacked to cover moldy floors. Bath tubs have layers of paint that peel if use warm water and good luck trying to get them repainted! I waited over a year to get it repainted, they started peeling after my first week at Palm Club. Noise level is intolerable. There is music blaring after 1am (even with a pseudo security presence), when not music you hear gunshots, fights, or cars at all hours. Crime is the norm. First month there we experienced multiple visits of the SWAT team, police helicopters as well surveyed over the property almost on a daily basis. Neighbor's on both sides of my unit had car break ins or vandalism. It is NOT a place you would want your children wandering around. In essence if you are looking to stretch your money but value your life and it's quality... LOOK ELSEWHERE!!
First, the good: The apartments are very spacious. I live in one of the 4bed 2.5bath and I have never needed anymore space. The apartments also have an alarm system that works very well and even warns you when there are weather alerts. We've never had problems with the plumbing or electrical that weren't our own fault, so unless you're planning on flushing a whole roll or toilet paper, I wouldn't worry. Now, the bad: (Brace yourself) There is no quiet in this neighborhood at all. Starting at around 4AM you can hear the workers in the nearby steel or iron shop making a ton of noise and they don't really stop until around noon. Then you have the people who believe that it's fine to blast music from your car for two hours on any given day or time. Next we have the insufferable ice cream truck. It plays Christmas music yearlong and doesn't leave until around 10pm. In terms of cleanliness, this place is nasty. The shared backyards are nasty, the front of the apartments are nasty, the people here throw out a lot garbage and they don't always make it in the dumpster. The parking situation is a nightmare, especially if you have more than two cars. Cars have also been broken into a lot. That being said, the police are always around here and in my two-year stay I have seen drug dealers, robberies, fighting and one actual shooting. The "net cafe" is a joke, 80% of the machines in the tiny fitness room are broken and the pool looks filthy. I've never gone in, lest I catch some sort of infection. As for INSIDE the homes, that's another story but unfortunately it's not much better. The appliances are dated and frequently break, the A/C is not in the best shape, and the walls have coats upon coats of paint that chip off if you look at them wrong. The carpet is obnoxious, where there isn't carpet there's cheap lamintae that won't last the winter and you can hear the next door neighbor's floorboards squeak just as much as your own. In short, if you're in a bad situation and you just need a place to live then go for it. The rent is nice and we have awesome access to the 95. If, however, you value your life in anyway, don't even look at this place twice.
Do not live at these apartments. Cars get broken into, apartments get robbed, people get hurt. Overall it is a very unsafe to live. Something always breaks in our apartment and then it takes Oakwood a good 3 weeks or more to fix it. The landlord has no clue what is ever going on and the maintenance man is not even a real maintenance man. Cops come to the neighborhood because there is always some type of criminal mischief. I will NEVER recommend this to anyone.
The apartment is very spacious with 4brd and 2.5Bth. Its a very nice and quite neighborhood with a pool, gym, and a club house. The building manager are very friendly and always help when there's a problem. I Would definitely recommend to other people and college students who looking for affordable living.
