Property Ratings at Ocean Pebbles Apartments
Their apartments are filled with MOLD and ROACHES... It is NOT safe... You will spend months trying to get the property manager to do anything but she won't and if you go above her and get the property owners involved the property manager will harass you until you leave... I have pictures and proof of every thing...
HONEST REVIEW from a mother/nurse resident: Absolute nightmare. This is MY experience. We've lived with ROACHES for months because management would not listen to my multiple requests for treatment. Renter next door moved suddenly-unit left open & a cat moved in (feces/urine everywhere). Drug dealers squatting in abandoned unit & left it a disaster with rotting food. Kathy (manager) let it remain this way for 2 mo, even after other residents let her know –so you can see why our building has a roaches. When I say live with roaches, I mean literally in the 1000s. I kill 100s/day: crawling on food while eating, crawling on us while we sleep. We have to wear shoes constantly to avoid stepping on them. Maintenance: Takes months to respond to requests. Frequent leaks. Had toxic black mold in child’s bedroom (d/t leak). If maintenance ever does get to your request (you may have many because much of this place is poorly built/maintained), repairs may be unprofessional & frequently cutting corners. Management: very poor, seldom responds to calls, I have been told many lies, made promises over & over that she will get things done, but doesn’t -told me that I have to remind her every day so she can remember. Who has time for that? Made unfulfilled promises to upgrade apartment to get me to sign new lease. I honestly do not know how upper management lets her keep her job. As a resident I feel insignificant. Theft is prevalent. Car broken into 5 times. Entire car stolen from my parking space. Bikes stolen from closed patio. O.Pebbles partnered with a local tow company & allowed them troll the complex to tow your car if inspection sticker expires. Carpets cheaply made. Cabinets & drawers poorly constructed. Glass doors not sealed properly -allow loss of heat/cooling: hot in summer & cold in winter. Screen doors do not stay on track & constantly fall off –as do the closet doors in bedroom. Washer/Dryer are convenient, but dryer takes hours to dry a full load. Poor outdoor area: Forbid us to plant anything of our own in flower bed, but mine has been left bare for going on a yr. Patio fence, gait, & stairs very poorly built. If you think I am just one angry resident & are skeptical of what I am claiming, I urge you to take a walk around and ask a few of the residents. The opinion of management here is pretty consistent. It is a shame, because the area is beautiful, & with the right leadership this little community could be one to be proud of.
Great location as its only 1 mile from the boardwalk and there are 2 bike paths to use to get there. The price is pretty inexpensive but you do get what you pay for. The apartments are small, and very outdated. If the apartment next to you is smoking, you're smoking. The apartments are very shaky as well. You feel every step going through the building. Mold is a problem in the bathrooms, kitchen & in the bedroom w/the HVAC. It does not go away. If you rent the room w/the HVAC I would def ask to pay at least $50 less a month compared to the other person in the master. HVAC bedroom is loud. There is mold. You will hear dripping of water all night when the AC is on. Parking is a huge problem. You only get 1 space per apartment. The Jet noise is also EXTREMELY BAD. The office staff & the maintenance staff are incredible! Super curteous & any issues I ever had were fixed asap. The prettiest thing about Ocean Pebbles is the entrance sign. Monies are NOT used to keep the apartment complex looking good. The exteriors are not in good shape. Needs repainting. Gates are falling apart. Landscaping is minimal. It makes for a great starter apartment but I wouldn't recommend it long term or for a more than 2 people or if you like newer/updated apartments.

I live in a two bed, two bath apartment in Ocean Pebbles Apartments. The price is good for the size and location of the apartments. It's also very nice and quite neighborhood. I've lived in other apartments and I could hear my neighbors through the walls, but I don't experience a lot of that here. The walls and floors are not in the best shape. The kitchen is a really good size. The cabinets are a little outdated. The outdoor areas could also use work. The pool is pretty run down. That's probably what I dislike the most about the property. And it's heavily shaded. Overall it's a good place to live, but if your looking for the best quality or luxury, you probably want to live somewhere else.
