Berlin has won a plethora of awards from multiple publications over the past five years naming it one of the nation’s best small towns. The streets are walkable and lined with magnolia and ginkgo trees. Berlin has an interesting past and 47 buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Admire these preserved or renovated structures downtown. Fun fact: Tuck Everlasting and Runaway Bride were filmed in Berlin. Berlin is also family-friendly with good schools.
There is never a dull moment in Berlin. The town hosts over 40 events annually. Sign up for the Bathtub Races, a quirky contest where teams decorate a tub on wheels, fill it with water, and push a teammate inside the tub toward finish line. View artwork at Second Friday Strolls where artists display masterpieces in streets and stores. Berlin has several parks and is close to other beautiful natural spaces including beaches.

I rented here in 2020 during the pandemic. Was promised an apartment on the first floor and when we moved in, it was to the 3rd floor. We had to hire extra movers to get our stuff up the 3 enormous flights of stairs. No elevators. This despite me having arthritis and being unable to come and go because of the stairs. The walls were paper thin, construction started outside our window within weeks after we moved in. Constant noise, slamming doors from the wind, sounds of the stairs moving. Just a walk across the room and you could feel everything bounce. We begged to leave and we did and they are still coming after us 2 years later on a 6 month contract that was based on their lies. RUN from this place. I now have to sue them for ruining my credit.
Okay. Cons, where do I end? Cheap building materials, cheap appliances, cheap fixtures/cabinets, EXTREMELY thin walls, and other tenants are not forced to follow rules. In the time I lived there for 2 years, 2 different tenants on both sides of my apartment set our place on fire from "smoking accidents". During the winter there's almost never any hot water, during the summer there's never cold water, I'm convinced they adjust the water heaters according to season to keep people from using more water. The dumpster is ALWAYS overflowing and disgusting and during the summer it smells horrible. Due to high ceilings you lose all of your heat in the winter if you're on the 3rd floor so you'll freeze. The front and sliding glass balcony door are so poorly sealed that when the wind blows the air blows across the floor and freezes you even more. The walls are so thin, you better hope you aren't trying to sleep when your neighbors do the hippidy dippidy because you'll hear every single bit of it. The shower heads are terrible. The complex halls are always covered in bird crap and huge ball back spiders and no one ever comes to clean it. There's always huge piles of goose poo all over the walking trails near the pond so forget trying to enjoy that when it's warm out. The places are so poorly built and practically made of JUST wood so when someone on the first floor closes their front door the whole darn building shakes. Yes the whole thing. You have to ask permission to have a guest over like you're a small child and you only get one guest pass so forget trying to have family over for the holidays and if you lose the piece of plastic it costs hundreds of dollars to replace it. The owners claim luxury and waaayyyy overcharge for non luxury. None of the bathroom fixtures like towel rods are in the studs, they are just in the drywall so prepare for them to come loose and fall out of the wall. I could go on.... The pros are simple. Abbey is a queen. She is so nice and helpful. Bless her. The location is great, traffic off of 50 can be rough during the summer due to tourists vacationing to OC and during the school year mornings and afternoon can be a tad rough due to bus traffic etc being across from the schools, but otherwise it's peaceful and beautiful unlike being in a city. That's it for the pros. Abbey and the location. Period. Rent at your own caution. I warned you ???????

We would love the opportunity to resolve any issues and improve moving forward.
The property is pretty and that is all. The materials used to build the apartments is very cheap and as a result you can hear everything your neighbors say and do. The ceilings are particularly thin and every time somebody even walks you can hear it. I'm shocked they allow people with children who run and play all day live above the first floor. Living here is torture if you have noisy neighbors.
We have been so impressed with the management team in our transition. Moving halfway across the country for work, the management team made finding a new home, our transition, moving in, and getting all of the information we needed ahead of time so easy! We could not be more excited to be living here and finding a new home in this community!!

Everything is quite nice but the oven has so much grease that it sets off the fire alarm every time I turn it on, management is unable to help.

So far, so good. At least one thing we know, the administrative staff have been courteous and efficient. Hopefully we will be able to spend many years here.
Love this place! Office staff is great! The apartments are big with lots of sunlight! Abby and Jason are the absolute best! We moved here last year and watch the new buildings being built. We spoke with them about transferring Abby was such a wonderful help with that! I love this place!
