The private, non-profit Keiser University was established in 1977. It was created by Arthur Keiser, who still serves as the Chancellor. When it began as the Keiser School, it served to prepare students for Florida's burgeoning business community. Today, Keiser has 18 campuses across the state, with its main campus in Fort Lauderdale.
