Consistently named among the best places to live in the nation, San Jose is a thriving city at the very heart of America’s tech industry. The highly-walkable downtown is a popular hangout for the entire community, featuring lush parks, exquisite restaurants, performance venues, and a vibrant nightlife scene. Over 30,000 students attend San Jose State University, and the position of the campus right downtown contributes to the college having a major impact on the local culture; the collegiate influence is amplified by the numerous smaller colleges throughout the city as well. The city layout is full of bike lanes, sidewalks, and trails, making the community very walkable and bike-friendly.
San Jose is an excellent city for sports fans, between the San Jose Sharks NHL team, the San Jose Giants baseball team (affiliate to the more famous San Francisco Giants), and the 49ers playing at Levis Stadium in neighboring Santa Clara.

Property Ratings at Ohlone Chynoweth Commons
I have lived across from this complex and i have had two different people who are extremely noisy, one motor bike with severely loud noise and one who runs fitness class in the garage, reported multiple times within 4 months time frame and no actions were taken. If you want to be able to sleep, work, live peacefully avoid this place
I've lived in these apartments for 5 years now and they're pretty great. Although this is a low-income apartment complex, you would never guess it. The architecture and styling is well done and the complex is well kept, for the most part. The apartments themselves are spacious and nice. We have a 2 bedroom 1 bath, town homes style apartment with our bedrooms and bath upstairs. The apartment comes with a nice balcony, it's too bad the balcony is covered high with plastic windows that you can't really see through. Some of the highlights of the apartment include: multiple washer/dryer facilities in the apartment complex. Large central grass field, often filled with children playing in it. Spacious apartments, well kept. Pet friendly. Very close to Oakridge shopping mall and multiple stores, restaurants, schools, etc. Adjacent to Ohlone light rail station. Basically, you're in walking distance of everything you can need. There's also underground parking with multiple spots per unit available. Oh and there's a salon, african restaurant and convenience store attached to the front of the complex; all of which come in very handy very often. Some downsides include: new management recently and some processes are slower than they use to be such as maintenance and complex upkeep (groundskeeping). Adjacency to light rail, although very convenient, can be loud and annoying depending on the location of your unit. That should sum up the apartments pretty well. All in all i'd recommend living here. Hope this helps!
This apartment community is accessible in everything school, transportation, mall and most of all affordable and quite.
I fell in love the first time I drove up. I will tell all my friends to check it out.
I recently visited Ohlone commons and I was very pleased of how the community was maintained. Hopefully soon I will be a part of this community.
This apartment is right next to the Ohlone-Chenoweth lightrail station and VTA hub, which makes it extremely convenient for those dependent on public transportation. There are a lot of children playing all over the place. So you should be willing to put up with that type of noise. I wasn't there after hours so I don't know what kind of noise the adults make at night. They take applications but it isn't for a particular apartment, it only gets you on a waiting list that seems to last forever.
I saw the waiting list for their one bdrm was open, so I went, picked up the packet, then personally returned it. I was very disappointed when the guy took my application to the back, then came out to tell me I didnt meet the requirements for their TWO BEDRM !
I have visited this place last week, it's a nice place, the reason I didn't chose it is too far from my work, but it's a good place if you work nearby!
These are beautiful quality and affordable homes. I am a full time student who works full time and I have been looking to move out and these apartments are at the top of my list
I like the place it seems a very quiet neighborhood .
