Property Ratings at Old County Road Apartments
We stayed at Old County Apartments for 6 years. Scott and team were prompt in responding to any requests, maintained the community very well. Close to freeway and caltrain is a big plus.
I vacated the apartments in a decent condition but was billed for $2000 including a carpet replacement for entire apartment
Property management does not care about you in any way. Property is visibly nice, but you will regret living here after talking to Ed about literally anything once you sign the lease.
The units are decent, the community is nice, the location is conveniently near the freeway and the Caltrain. The leasing manager is horrible. Bad attitude, unnecessarily harsh, and generally hard to deal with. Case in point: he told the residents that their children were not allowed to play and run in the common areas (by the garden and the pool). I haven't seen any children outside now in months. I've swapped stories with strangers on how badly he treats the residents. I once carpooled with a stranger who mentioned he lived here previously. We immediately bonded over our mistreatment by the leasing manager. You might be compelled by the size of the units and the innocuous looking prices, but unless you are desperate you will probably end up not renewing your lease here.
Ok I get it, Silicon Valley rents are high...but raising the rent in the last 3 years tor a total increase of $8,400 a year on residents that's been here years, seems more like a shake down than property management. Even long standing residents 20 years are paying rents that are near market. A guy in a ski mask doesn't show up to rob you, instead it comes in a letter every year with the "good news" of a rent increase. But not to complain totally, they did put tile the curb on the entrance that was a special touch. There are so many great places to live in Silicon Valley...this is just average . Old fixtures, no storage. Good points, its a quiet location, can walk to grocery store and train station and the units do have a good size bedroom, so if you or your partner is an elephant, it might be good choice for you then.
