In a downtown district where every corner scene belongs on a postcard, Market West manages to stand out. With a strong sense of self and a collaborative community, the neighborhood exudes a distinctive character that doesn’t compete with, but complements, the neighboring historic Old Market.
Together, both neighborhoods create the western-most portion of Downtown Omaha. This centralized location blossoms with opportunities for residential communities and commercial businesses, as well as civic and nonprofit organizations. Renovated brick buildings line original cobblestone alleys, containing rentals situated alongside diverse neighbors like a family-run grocery store, international development foundation, architectural firm, and the Omaha Symphony offices.
Perhaps this collection of professional establishments, anchored to the neighborhood under posh lofts and upscale apartments, defines Market West more than anything else.

Property Ratings at Old Market Lofts
It is in a great location. It is a great building. The apartments are nice. It is literally 1 star because of building management. I am literally dealing with privacy and harassment issues with my upstairs neighbors. The moment when you need building management. And it has been two and a half weeks of silence. Elevators are out all the time. I have been waiting on an ice maker for a year. It just is not what it was when I moved in even a year ago.
My husband and I lived here for two years and had a horrible experience. Very rude management, maintenance requests never got fulfilled, elevators were constantly out of order, there was always dog poop and pee in the elevators and hallways, and the elevators never worked.
My partner and I have lived here for about a year and a half, our first lease was completely fine but when we decided to move in to a new unit thinking it would be an upgrade it was far from it, almost every single appliance is outdated and broken (fridge, stove, dishwasher, washer and dryer) the only thing that has been replaced was the fridge. Our bedrooms do not get heat, and our stove and dishwasher are basically useless to this day. We have barely any water pressure in our bathrooms and despite multiple attempts and maintenance requests these issues have still not been resolved. Not to mention the issues with the building itself… it’s a good day if there is even one functioning elevator out of the six, the trash shoot was backed up and they let trash pile in the hallways for far over a week which created an absolutely rancid smell, and the extremely thin walls. If you like paying exorbitant amounts for a complete dump this place is for you!
I’ve lived here for 2 years now and this is going to be my last. The first year I lived here was awesome, so I decided to move into a more expensive unit. When I moved in I realized the refrigerator was broken, they didn’t replace any of the stuff they promised they would including (dirty drip pans, broken window seals, countertops that had been damaged and the dishwasher that was ancient). A few months went by and the laundry machines stoped working properly and the bedrooms weren’t getting warm. They sent a “professional” to fix the problems but unfortunately these issues were never properly resolved. They only have 2 maintenance workers to cover every property elevate owns so don’t expect to have any problems fixed right away. I recently received an eviction notice in the mail because “I didn’t provide proof of insurance” which I thought was a little bizarre considering a quick email would have resolved the issue. Luckily I had 14 days to fix the issue other wise I would have been homeless. Do yourself a favor and stay away from elevate living.
I lived in the lofts for 3 years and had great experiences throughout. After Vicki & Chanel took over the office the lofts were managed in the most professional manner. They provided me with the help I needed countless times and they went out of their way in doing so. I will miss those those two and the times I had with them. Lofts are in a great location for nightlife, restaurants and experiences. Highly recommend this property to many different age groups.

Awesome apartment. Great Location, large size for a cheap price. Can't beat the location in the heart of the Old Market.
Old Market lofts offers a great location to the old market, a lot of amenities and friendly neighbors! Management staff is nice and attentive as well and all issues are resolved quickly.
Want a quiet Sunday evening? You won't get it here. You won't get a quiet Friday or Saturday either. Quiet hours are not enforced unitll 11pm. Want to watch a movie on a Saturday? You will have to have your volume on as high as it goes to drown out the party music. I was told this was a "quiet place". I was lied to by the staff in order to get the lease signed. I have had problems every weekend I have been here. Not a good place for a working adult who wants a little peace.
Office staff was super helpful to get the lease signed, however; it stopped there. I went to pick up keys after work. No one showed my how to get to the garage space, where the trash was or anything else helpful just "here's the keys". I was on my own to figure it out. When I got to the apartment, there were parts of the apartment that hadn't been clean (especially the bathroom) When I went back to the office to let them know I had to convince them it was dirty. After they cleaned, I went back to the apartment. Not given any information on where my parking spot was, just on the third floor I finally found the entry door. It was raining at the time. On my way up the ramp my tires started spinning. I had to back up and make a run for it to get up the ramp. Oil needs to be cleaned up. The location of the access key to get out would have been nice to have known as well. I had to engage my parking brake, get out while my car was at a 45 degree angle on the ramp and manually press the button to get out. But again, after the lease was signed, no helpful information was given.
