Property Ratings at Old Mill Townhomes
I love living here. The grounds are well kept and management is very responsive.
If you like peace in your life I would not recommend you rent here. Your concerns are not taken seriously by management. Even though they say they have a no smoking policy my unit smells like cigarettes and marijuana 24/7. The property up keep is horrible, there are so many pitbulls and unsavory people your terrified to leave your unit even to just go to work. I left my unit to go to work and was almost attacked by someones pitbull just sitting on the side walk by itself, the owners heard the dog barking and being agressive but never opened the door to get their dog. I have small kids and they too are terrified to even go outside and play due to the agressive dogs here. If I knew then what I know now I would have just lived in my car before I moved in here!!
My fiancé and i have stayed here for the last year and the new leasing office couldn’t have been more gracious and kind to everyone in the community! A thousand thank you’s to Tabatha and Amanda! We appreciated you guys so much!
If you value: 1. Peace and quiet 2. Ample space 3. Adequate Parking 4. Safety 5. Not being able to smell your neighbors smoking weed 24/7 6. Being able to fit a queen bed up a stairway. DONT MOVE HERE! One of the worst places I've ever been stuck in a lease with. My move out date couldn't come quick enough. The newly remodeled floors they have are the cheapest floors I've ever encountered. Every morning I'd wake up to what sounded like my neighbor's inside my apartment. Near constant banging on my walls. Might as well have taken out the walls and just split the rent with my neighbors tbh. If none of that scares you, by all means pay $200 more a month than it's worth.
If you like 4:20 and pit bulls this is the place for you. Everyone else steer clear. No place for a respectable person. Change of management- added on hidden fees and changed rent without prior notice.
With Tabatha's help, I am now able to send my daughter off to Lynchburg for college with confidence knowing she will be in a safe apartment. Thank you so much for providing the town with a safe place, that is affordable as well!
I had the opportunity to tour your unit with TABITHA today and I’m very impressed. I love how the complex is tucked away off of the road surrounded by wooded area. A perfect area to walk my dog. The unit itself was spacious and very homey. I filled my application out online and that was very easy to do! Fingers crossed I get approved this is the perfect place it’s close to everything!! Thank you all so much!
the neighbors we had were always loud and extremely disrespectful to everyone around them. they played their music loud all times of the night as well as arguing and being very loud outside all times of the night. their guest were always blocking my vehicle in so that I could not get out. they felt that I could knock on their door and ask them to move everytime I needed to leave my home. Management never did anything to rectify the issues at all. definitely would not recommend!!!
My wife and I lived here for a year (2019-2020) in a 1BD/1BA and really enjoyed our stay. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because of some of the quirks. Long story short, it's a good value. Word of advice: spring for a 2BD/2BA if you can. Location: Excellent. You are literally a minute from the highway. I was a Liberty student and commutes were awesome. ALDI and Kroger are both nearby for groceries. Bonus: it's got a great view for sunsets. Management: Excellent. They are polite and responsive. Maintenance was completed quickly. But they many not honor your requests to set appointments and will show up at your door first. House Quality: Good...for the price point. We got a remodeled apartment that had wood-look laminate floors and new carpet. Overall, not bad. The doors and windows are drafty. The walls aren't bad. You can hear some noise through the walls and share some vents with the neighbors, but not so loud that you'd be able to make out any words that are being said. Quirks: The one-bedroom apartments are designed oddly. Your back door will not open all the way because the fridge sticks out too far. The in-unit laundry is very convenient...but in the one-bedrooms the washer is not hooked up to the wall--it hooks up to the sink. Laundry day can be a real pain because of it. The dryer also vents into the unit itself, which means all the hot air from the drier will fill up the apartment. Invest in a drying line for the summer. Summary: It's a halfway decent apartment for a good price. If you don't mind dealing with the quirks, you're going to be in a great location.
I like Old Mill as they have treated me well since I moved in. Things I like are that they have a nice pool, exercise room, new kichen, windows and heating system. They have a guy go around a remove spider webs which being arachnophobia I find great. When you put in for maintenance the respond super fast. The only drawback is parking if you have a car you have the worst rime and you end up parking on the street. Also they changed manmanagement not long ago and it was not for the best it been going a bit down hill since they took over. Some things that the old management would do they don't. Like changing a light bulb by the front door. The head maintenance guy will get on you with out understanding what you said in the office.
This is the worst place to live. The office staff is never consistent and hardly ever in the office during business hours. They lose paperwork and are very disorganized. The apartments are run down. The kitchen is tiny. the walls are paper thin, so you can hear EVERYTHING. The parking is very limited. The apartment was filthy when I moved in, and had to deep clean. The only good thing about Old Mill was the maintenance staff they at least knew what they were doing.
