Morristown is a vibrant suburb brimming with historic character. Morristown is, perhaps, best known for being the home of Morristown National Historical Park – the site where General George Washington and troops of the Continental Army spent the coldest winter on record during the Revolutionary War.
But Morristown’s historic charm doesn’t end there. A vibrant downtown area personified by red-brick buildings stretches along South Street, boasting an array of modern shops, eateries, bars, boutiques, and more. Morristown touts a wide variety of apartments available for rent, from the ultra-modern to renovated lofts and everything in between.
Residents delight in Morristown’s many parks, theaters, and museums, ensuring there is always something to do close to home. Morristown is also accessible to I-287 and NJ Transit’s Morris and Essex Line, making it easy for residents to enjoy day trips and weekend getaways.

Property Ratings at Olde Forge East Townhouses
Maintenance COMES THAT DAY OR THE NEXT! Landscaping is a treat to drive into everyday. Location is outstanding and that drives price up. Management is always respectful and clear. Always families and people playing outside or walking their dogs. Snow removal is swift!
During my stay at Olde ForgeI have noticed AC does not cool 3 bedroom apt upstairs. Fans do not help in summer (6) Parking lot rules of unused, uninspected vehicles that are left for long periods of time and hinders ability to park near your apt. (Well lit.) Lot rules not enforced to FULL degree. No marked spots. Very strong mouse problem ongoing. Maintenance attentive and prompt but limited in SOLVING issues as buildings are older and not fully upgraded or repaired sufficiently. Rent raised by $100.00 this year.(Average) Excuses so many times on complaints. Told your fault many times Moving is very costly. Area has everything though, spacious floor plan. I have complained many times. Residents NOT adhering to lease boundaries re grills, loud music, parking, proper garbage/recylcles. disposal. etc. Extremely frustrated here often because this complex could have so much potential. Needs substantial upgrades for this area. and rent amount. Nice landscaping and that is maintained. Snow removal adequate most times weather is inclement. Close to services, schools, stores. Please try harder OFE.
The place from the outside looks okay. The inside has dirty old appliances, in many cases old cabinetry from the 70s still there, cheap carpeting and everything run down. The location is convenient. No in unit washer and dryer. When asked the response was made up about the electric bill. Well, that's why you bring in electricians to bring everything up to current standards AND put in energy efficient appliances. Not still trying to use the same.old ones from 30+ yrs. ago. The rent increases every year, for what I'm not sure. I've lived in older apartments before but they clearly made improvements along the way so it IS possible. The walls are very thin. The floors are creaky which again it's older but I've lived in older places done right who fix the floors prior to throwing carpet on top. Although the bedrooms have a cute balcony but no windows. So when it's warm out you can't even open a window, just run the air all the time which drives up your electric bill. The heating is also expensive bc there's no insulation! So expect a $200-$350/mo. Electric bill. They also, don't replace the filters for the heating and cooling, you're expected to buy your own.
We've been here for the last 11 years and it's been perfect for us. We have easy access to downtown Morristown and main highways to get to work, but it's much quieter in the actual complex. You can get to Patriots Path basically across the street. We've been super comfortable in our one bedroom with plenty of space and it's always been safe. The maintenance team is super friendly and very responsive if you have an issue. The pool is a really nice option in the summer plus it's dog friendly.
I recently moved to Olde Forge East after residing in another location for over 30 years. I am EXTREMELY pleased. It is an attractive park-like area that is easily walkable. The units are a nice size and the FREE storage is amazing! Parking is plentiful. The laundry facilities are close and have many machines. I love seeing so many dogs with responsible owners. The grounds are maintained weekly. There was a horrific snow storm this past winter and Joe's maintenance department was as organized as a military squad. Maintenance is also extremely reactive to all requests. I've called the office often and Marge and Samantha are always pleasant and upbeat. They always answer the phone as well as all my 'newbie' questions, making my move a very pleasant experience! So, they are stuck with me. : )
I lived at Olde Forge East Townhouses for 5 years at court K and had a great experience there. The location is right there next to the center of town and very convenient to jump on the train to the city or drive under 5 minutes to 4 major stores like Walmart, Shop Rite and Lowes. The space is large for what you pay for with large kitchen area for those home chefs and balcony for easy access outside. They are pet friendly!! I have to say the neighbors are great and area is quite. Marg and office staff have always been very accommodating with anything I've ever needed, along with ground crews and maintenance company ... they are there to fix anything that goes wrong immediately. You get the best bang for your buck per square foot compared to the higher priced apartments in Morristown!! It's a hidden gem. Oh and did I mention the Pool! Give them a try, you will not be disappointed.
Wonderful people. Marge, Joe, Regina, Mr. Bukiet, and everyone with whom we’ve interacted at Olde Forge East made us feel at home since day 1. Great place (especially for dog owners) and unlike many places in Morristown, you never had to be concerned about parking.
This is a large complex with plenty of walking space for walking your pup. It is a community of pet lovers. The apartments are large and comfortable and the Maintenance crew does a great job of snow removal and upkeep of the townhouses. The staff in the office are helpful and friendly. The property grounds are mostly away from busy roads. Not far from the train stations and middle of Morristown and Morris Plains. Beautiful landscaping.
SO LOUD. random constructions and repairs all the time. No notice in advance at all! office people come into your apt like they own it.old and nasty. ants problem.
I would strongly advise to just stay away. There are absolutely just too many problems to even list about this place. I advise you to just come drive around, look at the outside (bricks, etc.) and you'll literally see the place is falling apart. That's on the OUTSIDE! Imagine the inside!! All of the other reviews talking about how management doesn't care is beyond true. They're simply there to be a check collector. Yes maint. responds to needs, but within reason. If you have something obviously broken that they can fix, they'll do so. (IE toilet doesn't flush, etc.) However the big repairs they want nothing to do with. They'll play the blame game and pass the responsibility onto others as much as they can. The people who live here actually are a large problem as well. Rude loud neighbors, allowed to smoke pot and do other illegal activities, with no consequences. I moved out due to loud neighbors, bugs, flooding, rude and inattentive office and maint. staff, and just overall a terrible a terrible living experience. You get what you pay for. Yes, this is on the more inexpensive end for Morristown and Morris Plains, but know you are getting what you pay for. (barely) - Please save yourself a massive headache and stay away.
I lived in Old Forge East for many years with my daughter, and it was a great place. The two bedrooms were spacious. It was a nice open floor plan for living room, dining room, and kitchen. I had lovely neighbors. The complex grounds were well kept. The office & maintenance staff were always helpful. It was convenient to just about everything. We would walk to the park, and my daughter got the bus on the corner. We loved the pool in the summer. Easy & convenient off Speedwell Ave. I recommend living here we liked it a lot.
This is my second year here at Olde Forge East and Love It! Great neighbors and pet friendly. Very personable and helpful staff. Apartments are very comfortable and spacious. The location is perfect, only 7/10 of a mile from the Green. Highways are very close as well as the train station. Shopping isn't far at all and the convenience of location can't be beat.
Just resigned our lease again this year! Love this place because its affordable and pet friendly! The community of people around me are very nice and our one bedroom apartment is extremely spacious. Like others have said, maintenance and the staff doesn't communicate with the residents. They powerwashed the outside of our apartment and broke my outdoor furniture because they didn't bother telling us that they were going to do it. Pool is okay, it's small. The heat in the buildings aren't good either, the apartments aren't well insulated. But i still love the spaces here, for the price and location its great!
The guy in the white truck who plows snow doesn't know what he is doing! does he realize the plow tilts both ways? He plows large mounds of snow in front of sidewalks that the other maintenance people have cleared, and flies down the main road throwing snow over the sidewalks that have been cleared, This makes it harder on the guys out in the weather clearing by snow blower and shoveling. I plowed snow for 30 years and it is obvious this guy doesn't know what he is doing! I think this guy needs to go to plow school, and care a bit more for his fellow workers!
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I was shown the apartment immediately even though it was just at the office closing time. The model was very nice and I am considering it, but not ready to move just yet. I will contact the office again next year to see a two bedroom, if available.
Great complex. Just signed up to say for another year. The size of our apartment is super. Much larger than several of our friends who live at other complex in town. The Rental Office has always been helpful and polite. The maintenance guys have fixed my few concerns within 1 day. Pool great in the summer. Was a little sad that the complex's insurance company won't let us have a grill any longer, but the office gave us a few weeks notice. Great place to live, we are very happy to live here.
lived in this community for 4 years now. it is a struggle when things go break to get fixed. management does a poor job communicating needs to residents. examples are: ex. 1. air conditioner unit was leaking water. they came looked at it and said they cleared the lines. said we need to do a better job of cleaning up dog hair. 24 hours later unit leaking again. called and management said kept saying we need to do a better job of cleaning. after a week of fighting to get someone to look at the unit again they came back and realized that whoever put the unit in ran the drain line into the ground outside. instead of fixing it properly they drilled a hole in the wall and snaked another line out which now sits on top of the dirt outside. i had to go out and buy a shop-vac to make sure no more water leaks and the floor stays dry so i do not get water in my apartment. instead of taking ownership. management kept putting blame on me and only said to keep cleaning the dog hair. ex.2. management gives notice that the insurance company they use will not allow grills on the property any longer. after 4 years of living here i am no longer able to have a grill. 3 weeks after the notice which did not indicate a time frame to remove the grills. they went around and picked up any of the grills that were still on the property with out notice or warning during working hours so no one was there. the grill i had was a $400 grill/smoker. i made plans to have my brother pick it up with his truck because the grill would not fit into a car or SUV. now i am out the grill and $400. management has been so poor i would never advise anyone to move into this complex. if you are thinking of living in this community i would ask to see the storage units available as i can not store anything because of mold in the basement. if you are looking for a place that you can get along with management. this is not the place to go. they only care about money and they do not care about churning tenants out.
