Property Ratings at Ollie North Park Lofts
Overpriced and management is not very responsive. Constant problems with the slow elevator. Didn’t have hot water all weekend and the building management did nothing about it. Find a better spot to live.
Overpriced, cheaply made building with constant issues. There is only one elevator that constantly goes out and management just shrugs its shoulders. We have had storage units broken into to which management never informed the tenants nor implemented any physical security(you could just open the front door without a fob) The walls are paper thin. Amenities close early even on weekends. We broke our lease early for how bad it was. We heard from other renters that they raised their rent $500-700 a month when their lease was up for a renewal. Also, they rent out tons of units on Air bnb so not really a community aspect.
So we’ve lived here for some time now. At first everything was okay. The units are decent enough it’s all just standard building materials so style it as you wish. The problems: there’s a full on homeless encampment in the alley now due to the proximity of El Cajon. They’ve cleared it out once and it grew back, larger. The City takes forever to respond. The cost is out of control and they nickel and dime everything… don’t let the free internet fool you. My upstairs neighbor must’ve not left the house in months. They’re completely unaware of the ridiculous amount of noise coming from up there. Actually pacing on calls during the day but it doesn’t stop at the end of the workday. Sometimes this is happening as late as 1AM. This wouldn’t be a problem if the ceiling insulation wasn’t paper thing. It actually rattles our light fixtures. Note: play with your dog park why are you throwing the ball in the house? The elevator has broken down I believe once per month since we’ve lived here without any sort of credit to renters. I thought we paid such high rent for the inclusion of elevator service at the very least. Good luck with your groceries. They will not let us out of the lease and allow us to just move on amicably. It would cost somewhere north of $6,000 to break the lease. At this point, rent anywhere else at the same cost. The amenities they DO provide are far from worth it.
Units are pretty good, location is good as well. That’s the good. Do not rent here unless you really like walking up and down stairs. No units on 1st or 2nd floor and the elevator breaks down at least once per month for a few days at a time. Pretty big annoyance when you pay as much as this place costs. Really getting sick of it and unfortunately they decided they’d rather fight over the lease than let us go and be happy, so in the mean time I’ll just leave this review as a warning. Last thing, compared to other places nearby there aren’t really great amenities for the price. Only one parking space per unit where street parking kind of sucks. The place we’re planning to move is the same price with lots more to offer (and multiple elevators) so if I were you I’d look around a bit more.
