Some of Manhattan’s most iconic structures, from the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building to Grand Central Station and Rockefeller Center, are located in the busy, bustling Midtown East neighborhood. As a result, there are arguably more tourists than locals walking the streets – but that just adds to Midtown East’s endless appeal. As you’ll be living here and not just gazing at the architecture, you’ll be happy to know that not only is Midtown East home to some of the city’s largest employers, but there are also multiple subway stops throughout the neighborhood – as well as city bus service and the iconic yellow taxis.
Midtown East sits directly east of the Theater District and extends to the East River. It runs from 42nd Street north to E 59th Street, with the UN Headquarters in the southeast corner and the south corner of Central Park at the northwest corner.

Property Ratings at Olympia House
I lived in Olympia House for 5 years and had the best experience living there and moving to NYC right out of college. The staff is so warm and helpful. The building is well maintained. The apartments are spacious with lots of closet area. Management is responsive and actually nice! I couldn't recommend a place more. :)
This is the absolute perfect building if you want an easily accessible, and affordable, apartment in Midtown Manhattan. Rent is ridiculously affordable for the area. In most apartment layouts, you will pay $1200 to $1400. The doormen are all incredible friendly and extremely helpful, and management truly takes care of any maintenance needs you may have in a prompt and effective manner. If you put in a work order, it will be taken care of within 24-hours. The location is incredibly convenient. Being a mere few blocks aways from Grand Central makes traversing anywhere in the city simple via subway, and if you choose to take a cab, there are plenty that come down Second Avenue. All of the rooms in each apartment are very spacious, and come equipped with AC. Personally, I've lived here 3-years and I have yet to find a justifiable reason to move out.
I've lived at this apartment, and this building, for 3 years now. The rent for my room is only $1300, which is fantastic if you know the area well. There is a huge amount of space for each of the people living in my apartment (3 people), and all the amenities are fantastic. Management is terrific. Anytime there is even a small problem in the apartment, I can simply put in a maintenance request and they will take care of the problem by the end of the day. The building's name is Olympia House, and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
This is a full service building with a 24 hr doorman, steps away from the United Nations and Grand Central. The area features several lovely parks which are great if you have a dog as the building is dog friendly. The apartments in the building are spacious and airy with hard wood flooring, and modern, renovated kitchens and baths. There is a large laundry facility in the basement.
Fake room divided by a frosted glass sliding door is not ideal for blocking light/noise.
