The first thing you'll probably notice about Downtown Olympia is its large, impressive murals -- these bright, colorful works of art adorn the sides of several buildings. Walk along the wide, tree-lined sidewalks and you'll discover charming shops and restaurants contained in those historic brick buildings. Head toward Puget Sound and admire the sailboats, yachts, and fishing boats dotting the water and lining the marina.
As a hub for artists and musicians, Downtown Olympia has a style and flavor all its own. Enjoy the beautiful, serene views from Heritage Park or the stunning backdrop of the Olympic Mountains and Mount Rainier. Downtown is home to the Farmers Market, the Hands On Children's Museum, eight public parks, five theaters, and a twice-a-year art walk.

Property Ratings at Olympian Apartments
Thankful for an affordable place to go home. The management company has been very responsive. I have zero complaints.. Looking forward to renewal.
Where shall I start? I lived there three different times (because I had nowhere else to go) - the last time was for almost three years. During that time if I wanted something fixed I'd best either do it myself or hire someone because they took FOREVER. In fact, the last six months that I lived there they didn't even HAVE a maintenance person! Then there was the elevator - I hope you like to climb stairs because the building is over 100 years old and I do believe the elevator is the original. It broke down on the average of twice a month; sometimes for just an hour or two; sometimes as long as a week. There are NO apartments on the ground floor so if you couldn't walk, you were housebound until it was fixed. Noise?!? First of all, the building sits right across the street from Sylvester Park and the Arts Walk as well as Procession of the Species celebrations marched NOISILY down Washington Street in front of the building as well as down part of Legion Way (again in front of the building). Then of course you had the Pet Parade, the 5K run, the overflow from Lakefair, and probably others I've thankfully forgotten about. CRIME - we had drunks, drug addicts, and homeless persons sleeping in both outside doorways many times; I remember being afraid to take my little dog for a walk after dark because of it. And a lot of the time some of the tenants would let those types of people in the building - we begged and begged for 24-hour security to protect the rest of us but that just fell on deaf ears - after all, that would cost the owners money. Parking - OR LACK THEREOF. It's an okay place if you don't own a vehicle. If you do, refer to the noise paragraph. With each and every "activity" downtown, PLUS the activities over at the Washington Performing Arts Center across the street, we tenants were forced to find parking wherever we could. For the theater events, if you were already parked close to the building, you didn't dare move your vehicle or you'd end up parking six blocks away until everyone went home! For most of the events the City, in it's infinite wisdom (?!?) blocked off the section of Washington and most times the section of Legion that the building is one so guess what? Yep, six blocks away IF you could find a spot that close. In closing, my advice is if you don't have to choose this place, DON'T.
