Stretching north from Allentown along the Lehigh River to Spring Street, Whitehall is a family-friendly township with terrific shopping and a fascinating history. Along MacArthur Road, Whitehall’s “Golden Strip,” you’ll find the vast Lehigh Valley Mall, one of the region’s largest indoor malls, as well as Whitehall Mall and several strip plazas. This is also where you’ll find a variety of restaurants, from local favorites like Whitehall Diner to popular chains and mall staples.
Formed in 1752, Whitehall was supposedly named for a hunting lodge in the area. Lynford Lardner, the lodge’s owner, painted it with a whitewash and although the lodge was named “Grouse Hall,” everyone referred to it as the “white hall.” One of the historic landmarks in Whitehall, the Helfrich Springs Grist Mill, was built in 1807. Today, it is owned by the Whitehall Historical Society and is open to the public for special events, scheduled tours, and monthly meetings.

Property Ratings at Olympic Gardens Apartments
My family and I have been living at Olympic Gardens for about a year now and I must say the apartment is very spacious with lots of closet space. The office / maintence staff are very reliable, friendly, and have been very accomodating to our needs this far. We truly enjoy living here
I am a current resident and have been living at Olympic Gardens for over 2 years. I currently have a 2 bedroom apartment. The apartment layout is nice and spacious. The kitchen and bathroom is modern looking. The floor is carpet but underneath it is concrete which is a plus because I have children and for noise level. My children can play and jump and my neighbors don't hear us and we don't hear them. Central air is used to heat and cool the apartment. This is awesome because it helps maintain the air the way I like it. My electric expenses is less than having electric heaters which is what the majority of apartments in other communities use. This community is very clean and beautiful. The people in this community are very nice, respectful, and keep to themselves. The landscape is kept well and the staff keeps the premeces clean everytime it snows or icy. I haven't had any issues with bugs.
We lived at Olympic gardens for 6 years. Some great things about this apartment complex are as follows: They have a beautiful community It's close to restaurants and shopping. The office staff are pleasant and kind. We recently moved to buy a home. Be advised, the management and maintenance department work together to find a way to use your deposit money and more. A former resident told us this, but we didn't believe them. We were accused of allowing water to damage the kitchen sink and counter. We received an invoice to pay an additional $200 after the $250 from our deposit. I should add that this apartment complex is known to have water leaks, flooding, drain backups and your occasional mold. Basically be prepared to have issues related to water if you decide to move here. Don't be deceived, your rent will go up each year and you will not get any money back. In fact, you may actually pay more than you expect upon handing your key over to the office.
Overall the apartment is very nice. Extremely spacious, and you get a lot of bang for your buck. Tons of closet space and the management is very friendly. The pool is huge! And it also has a lifeguard on duty. Lots of families in the apartment community, so it makes for a nice atmosphere. Units are well maintained and do a great job of storing heat in the winter, as well as A/C during the summer. The location is very nice. Right off of 22, minutes away from the Lehigh Valley Mall, and a mile from downtown Allentown. Great starting apartment and would recommend this place to anyone.
