Property Ratings at Opera Tower
I have lived in this building for a year now. I like my apartment a lot it’s very high. However there are numerous things that are absolutely ridiculous and making living here so much harder than it should be. I hope this review helps many people. The Pros: - Now possible to get an apartment for a good price - The view - The location The Cons: - The pool is empty and the whole pool area closed. Do not believe when your rental agreement says there’s a pool included in the lease! I thought so and heard after moving in that the pool has been empty for years - Maintenance of the building. The management doesn't put money on fixing the building and its amenities. - The gym is small and bad. Half of the weights are stolen and every single machine or dumbbell is at least a little broken. Even every single gym mat is broken - Management and customer service is absolute garbage. Most of the employees are rude and have never heard of a smile. Most of the time they have no idea what they are doing and everything is made harder than it needs to be - Package room is closed on Sundays so you can’t get your package at all between Saturday 5pm and Monday morning since they don’t let carriers upstairs even though you allowed that - The building is "not supposed to allow short term rentals". Airbnb and other short term rentals having loud parties and fights all the time (there are crazy parties going on until 7am on Wednesdays and the management or security does nothing even though residents complain throughout the night) - Recycling. You can only take your recycle garbage to the “recycling box” before 5pm. How you’re supposed to do that when you work early mornings and office hours? The trash chute has a recycling “option” and it doesn’t work of course This building has enormous potential but the management and the owners just dont care at all and it shows. Being a “luxury” building but what you're getting with all the cons it’s not worth your money.

While we appreciate all the feedback we receive, we are very disheartened to see that you feel this way about our community and team. Making sure that you and our residents can fully enjoy all that we have to offer and have the best possible living experience are top priorities of ours. We would be more than willing to speak with you about your concerns, and what it is that we may be able to do for you going forward. Thank you.
The lady "Liz" who runs the place is mean and rude, always in a bad mood. Building is dirty and infested with cockroaches. Hallways have stained carpet and smells like a locker room. you have to pay $25 every time you want to use the grill plus deposit. Security is rude also and thinks they are the police when all they do is sit around and do nothing. Elevators are ALWAYS BROKEN. Place is a JOKE. People from Air BnB rent the "condos" for days and disrespect people who have lived there. wasted many years and this Place and was treated horribly. PLACE IS DIRTY, WHAT A JOKE! DON'T LIVE HERE IF YOU WANT TO ENJOY YOURSELF. BETTER CHOICES ON BUILDINGS NEARBY. RENTERS OR OWNER BEWARE!

I lived in this building for 2 years and I had a terrible experience as a long term resident. No pool, terrible gym, No working, and bad-smelling elevators. The majority of the building is Airbnb (Terrible Visitors).

Now an “AirBnB hotel”. Residents who rent being pushed out or leaving because of the noise and disruption. Revolving door of large families, bachelorette parties and such being squeezed into small units, 6-8 people in a small 2 bedroom. Not the best element and security a joke. Had a shooting a couple of months ago. Pool is super crowded & loud on weekends—seems people who don’t live in building have gotten access to fobs to enjoy the amenities. No control by management. The two best things about this building are the view & location. That’s it.

This is a great building with great security. The location is perfect with easy access to all major hwys. South Beach is minutes away, Port of Miami, Miami Heat Arena, bayside Park, Downtown Miami, all within walking distance. Walking distance to all forms of transportation including bus, free trolley, free train, & metro rail so you could live here easily without your own personal transportation. Great park right across the street with ocean views and all sporting activities. Publix grocery store and banks and restaurants all walking distance. Great pool and recreation area that is rented out only $150 to tenants to entertain for private parties. Six elevators and private secured parking in building. One of the highest buildings in Downtown Miami area with the best views overlooking everything while still avoiding the traffic by holding the perfect location. You will be happy living here.
I have lived in this apartment building for over a year. It has a lot of great qualities and also a few drawbacks. Pros: -Finishings are high-quality -Management runs things surprisingly smooth most of the time -Pet-friendly -airfilters and pest control are complementary -maintenance requests are prompt and efficient -Supermarket across the street -Public transportation hub nearby -Public park across the street -Sauna in the gym -Neighbors are all youngish and professional, low amount of children and noise -Security is high -zip car and car2go are both available nearby -floor-to-ceiling windows make up the entirety of the exterior walls Neutral: -Many Studios and 1BR apartment units have view of dominated by neighboring building. All 2BR units have nice view -Passable, but small gym. The music from zumba classes fills the air in the evenings. -You will have to book the freight elevator in advance before you may use it -Pool deck is passable. Includes grills you can use. -Your visitors will have to pay for parking, either valet or street parking. Cons: -Navigating the 10-story garage is a chore, depending on how high up you are -Internet only offers up to 15Mbps download speeds. You are stuck with a single provider. -Homeless wander the neighborhood -Only 1 reserved parking spot per unit allowed. 2BR units have option to pay monthly for a ‘valet pass’ for their second car. More parking is available in unaffiliated garage across the street for $100/month. -Low amount closet space -Weird low-quality shower fixture that may not include a tub spout depending on your unit. -Balcony gets absolutely filthy. I have a pair of flip flops just for venturing onto the balcony so I can keep my feet clean. Overall, I’d say this is a great building if you are interested in high-efficiency city living. The location is especially perfect for those of us who don’t own cars, since there are many transportation options available and a supermarket across the street. The building is pretty and is maintained well. The units have high quality finishings. The windows have thick glass to insulate you from the loud city.
I've live in the Opera Tower for almost two years. The building has more dogs than people. They don't keep it clean. I've had to ask them to vacuum my floor's hallway on a number of occasions. As much as I love to swim I've never placed a toe in the pool again because of lack of cleanliness. The elevators are ALWAYS super hot. They now have a new owner who has the nerve to raise my rent by $300! I'm out!
