Streeterville is an urban neighborhood just north of downtown Chicago with tourist attractions, incredible lake views, and a picturesque city scape. Streeterville houses Northwestern University and is known for its welcoming community. The neighborhood’s main attraction is the Navy Pier, a former Navy training center, that’s been transformed into a tourism haven. Carnival rides, gift shops, eateries, lakefront views, beer garden, and evening fireworks in the summer months make for an incredible one-stop-shop for fun. There’s a wide variety of dining options in town, from four-star French cuisine to casual pub fare.
Downtown’s Museum of Contemporary Art is a big hit with locals and tourists, as is 360 Chicago that offers views from the 94th floor of the John Hancock Building complete with a tilting glass overlooking the city. The Ohio Street Beach is a popular public sandy spot on the lake with a beachside eatery, Caffe Olivia.

Property Ratings at Optima Signature
The location is fantastic. We love, love, love our apartment, and the office, maintenance, and front-desk staff are friendly and efficient. The amenities are great (although we're not using them during COVID).

There are a lot of amenities and the location is great.
a bit expensive and no balconies but overall loved the apartment
Always fast to respond to any needs and requests. Very friendly and helpful staff.
The amenities are the best I have seen in an apartment in the area, and the apartment was beautifully finished for a price that I feel fairly reflects its value.
Everyone is so nice and accommodating! Love my experience at Optima so far
The elevators can be frustrating. It's not so much the waiting, although it can take long To get an elevator during peak periods of demand, it's the illogical way that they are programmed. For example, if I'm going to floor 41 and there's an elevator going to floors 20,43, why wouldn't it also take me to 41? Instead, I have to wait, sometimes for a minute or more for another elevator and it may only be going to my floor. It's esp frustrating when it seems illogical
Great location. Elevators suck. Parking/traffic situation in the front of the building is atrocious.
A nice, newer apartment for people wanting to live close to Michigan Ave.
Josh & Melissa from the leasing office are phenomenal. Client focused & exceptional service provided.
The maintenance staff is fantastic and the only part of Optima that has consistently excelled and provided great service AS A WHOLE (no apparent weak links). I unfortunately can't say the same about the leasing and concierge staff, although most of them are great. I certainly can't say many positive things about the most of the package room staff (though there's a new one who is amazing; she has somehow seemed to memorize everyone's names in the building); most of them seem to hate their jobs and are intermittently rude (most especially the male employee who I see from time to time). I know many residents share the same sentiment. The maintenance staff is always smiling, goes out of their way to speak with residents and asks how they're doing, and at least appears to take pride in their work. The rest of the Optima staff would do well to follow their example.
Overall, we're very happy here and are actually looking to find a larger apartment in this building. The location is perfect, and the building is good. The elevators are slow, and this becomes a problem during rush hours. Also, the kitchen is very badly designed, and not conducive for actually cooking in. The stove vents are useless, and the smoke detectors almost always go off, which is unfortunate. Also, I wish there were private terraces in the apartments. We sorely miss that.
Great amenities and location. Nice views and well appointed apartments
Everything is great and far superior to other places i have rented
Expanded dog run Not sure what can be done about the occasional long elevator wait times
The amenities are by far the best i have seen in any high rise while we were looking for an apartment.
Lincoln Properties largely phones it in. The building is loud and rowdy like a college dorm. Pay too much for less than dignified community.
Solidly impressed with everything. From office staff following up, to maintenance personnel that took care of the issues in a timely manner.
For: The location is terrific. Amenities plentiful. The concierge team at the front desk helpful! Against: Elevators are terrible—the building should have two more plus another freight elevator given the size. Little things are missed: New basketballs needed for gym, new bocce ball set—current set is damaged, elevators often dirty and smell like dog urine, walkway from elevators to dog walk should have glass wall across from weights area to keep dog owners from cutting through gym area. Parking garage sensors quite temperamental.
The location is great. The noise level in the hallways is horrible. Wish the gap under the door wasn’t so big. The elevators are terribly slow
Parking issues, elevator issues caused issues day in and day out. Those things create a stressful environment.
The building really gave me a sense of community and an overall good energy. Everything provided on site is spectacular as well. Having lived in Chicago for the past 11 years, I have yet to see a property that is as great as Optima Signature.
Exceeds expectations for creating community atmosphere. Has many interesting social events.
The elevator system is absolutely awe full and can 5-10 minutes to get an elevator, especially during busy times. The 6th floor parking garage smells so bad from the indoor dock area that we stopped parking there and the A and C elevators routinely smell awful due to the same thing
Amenities are great, but because of parking being an issue in Chicago I believe offering a free parking spot included in rent what attract a lot more people.
The maintenance technician, Danny, was prompt, courteous, and very helpful with our hearing issue. He even noticed that our air filter was dirty, went to get a new one and replaced it. Great service
We love Optima Signature. There are few issues that we want to share with you: 1. Dogs are off leash in the building all the time. While this may not be a problem for the dog or other owner it is for us because our dog is leash reactive. When she encounters another dog off leash in close quarters and she's on the leash she gets very excited. 2. There is a lack of towels at the pool in the summer. We just bring our own now. 3. There is smoking and glass alcohol at the pool in the summer. Security mostly ignores it. We have a 10 year old and we often feel like the drunkenness at the pool needs to avoided at certain times. 4. There is often dog poop on 6. Not sure if fines are being handed out for this but you should consider this. I have stepped in it and tracked it into the building. 5. We love the staff. They're simply amazing! 6. The amenities are wonderful and the building is nice. 7. We enjoy our neighbors (mostly) and the majority of the community in the building. It's a nice group. 8. The leasing staff are terrific. We always feel like they and everyone else are doing their best with a sometimes challenging situation.

Would: Great amenities, some of the best views of the city Would Not: Elevator system ruins the experience
The apartment has updated appliances and hardware. The amenities are worth every penny of the rent.
The elevators are probably the worst of any new development and super unreliable. 90% of the time we are frustrated with the amount of time we have to wait.
I would recommend this community to everyone. it's the best community I've been a part of so far. I have no complaints whatsover.

Because it has an indoor pool were I can swim laps in the morning and it's connect to WholeFoods...
I love everything about living here with the exception of one MAJOR flaw, which negates many positives. The elevators never work, are always delayed, etc. For as many amazing amenities/benefits provided, the elevators are the worst I have ever experienced living in Chicago (or elsewhere).
The staff is more than kind and helpful I really love it here. Feels like a family
Beautiful building ruined by management. Do not pay the premium to live here and be treated like you’re doing management a favor by paying them your hard earned money. This place will make you feel unwelcomed at best. I fell in love with the building design and architecture, it’s a shame that the people running it destroy that value. Props to the front door staff and maintenance crew through, they’re the only ones that make it bearable - they are the true heroes.

Hi Lee, Thank you for your review, however we are sorry to hear that your experience was anything but positive. Our guest experiences at Optima Signature are very important to us. I would love the opportunity to speak with you directly and discuss your concerns. You may reach me directly at optimasignaturemgr@lincolnapts.com or 312.971.0400. Sincerely, Kattia Halaoui Business Manager
It's mainly because of the other residents in the building. We have had a few negative experiences with two residents that was reported to management. One was for excessive noise at 4am (party in unit next to us). The other was a resident with a dog who behaved really poorly toward both me and my husband so we avoid him in the building whenever possible.
The major pain point is the elevators. Of the 3 high rises I?ve lived at in Chicago, the elevators at this building are by far the worst in terms of wait times. The waits are inconvenient on a daily basis and embarrassing when guests are visiting. It is also the case that certain if the amenities have not worked as expected. The indoor jacuzzi had been down in the few weeks I?ve lived here and the golf simulator had no clubs that weren?t broken. This reflects badly on the property and challenges the perceived value of the rent paid
Untrustworthy leasing staff. Very deceptive and conniving. Would not recommend looking here despite the location and amenities
YES
I would definitely recommended this apartment community to friends/family for a few reasons. Location, amenities, and spectacular views.
We love our unit, the location and the amenities. However we are not impressed with the lack of attention from management on issues of residents not abiding by rules. ie. dogs being allowed to roam in common areas (I'm highly allergic) guest policy at the pool not being enforced, people saving chairs at the pool for them and 20 of their closest friends. We've also been informed by a few different residents that people are renting their units by way of Airbandb. This is HUGLEY disappointing.

I would recommend the apartment based on Melissa exceptional service . She is an asset to your company. We loved her
Overall as expected. Staff is friendly, and any issues have been handled in a timely manner
My only complaint is that the front plaza of the building on E. Illinois St is NOT maintained. It is filled with cigarette butts, scraps of paper, untended beds of dead plants, only infrequently cleaned trash and cigarette receptacles. Smoking should be prohibited on the plaza and the area should be cleaned well at least once a day.

I would! It?s has everything you need at a reason rate. The location is also ideal.
Love the location, desk personnel, maintenance men. Did ask for bathroom hooks and an extra medicine chest shelf and was told no.
Great amenities. Good value for the apartment. Need better garbage pickup in the outdoor dog area. Need heat turned down in the workout area. Need heat turned up in the common hallways.
The staff is very friendly, responsive and helpful; I cannot say enough good things about the front desk staff and the maintenance crews. The building is quiet and in great shape. The amenities are amazing and we use them just about every day.
