Property Ratings at Orchard Glen
The grounds are beautiful, the apartments very nice, maintenance is quick and reliable and it is very well located. All those qualities would give them five stars. Except that my car got broken in 2 weeks ago. And three other cars were broken into the month before.
I enjoyed living here, the maintenance staff are by far the best from my experience of living in many apartments. But sadly, this apartment has multiple car break ins and what feels like every other night. Building 3 mailbox has been compromised and mails have been stolen often. People here are unhappy.
High turnover rate. Many people host airbnb here. I see homeless looking for things in garbage place every day. Not a safe place to live.
STAY AWAY. STAY FAR, FAR AWAY. Noise is absolutely terrible- walls are paper thin and the floors are even worse. I hear every single thing all my neighbors are doing at all times of day. Neighbors are super inconsiderate. It's quite obvious that the complex is noisy and that the walls are thin, but no one seems to be mindful of that. My upstairs neighbors are CONSTANTLY moving around, working out, moving furniture, bowling...? I don't think they ever actually sleep. And the neighbors I share a bedroom wall with blast their bedroom TV every night with the bass turned way up. The office staff are completely useless. I was almost forced to sign a lease for the wrong unit upon moving in. I had to insist multiple times that the staffer was wrong. They are unable to answer any questions you may have. They all have the title of Manager, yet always say you need to talk to The Manager, who is conveniently never in office. If you submit a complaint they will patronize you and then won't do anything. Units look nice at first glance, especially the modern kitchen and bathroom. But there's so many things off- cheap paint, cheap appliances, cheap fixtures. My kitchen cabinet doors are all crooked and have gaps. There's random paint splotches in some areas. Hot water heater is super inconsistent. Just go anywhere but here. Don't give your money to this severely overpriced complex.
I moved here from Maryland (Washington, DC suburbs) and I have only been here for 2 weeks and I was already a victim of theft' I put my bicycle on my balcony as I didn't want to leave it on the carpet in the living room. After being a resident in this community for 11 days, someone went on my balcony and stole my bicycle, just that fast. Wow!!! I did report it to the management office as well as filed a police report, but I feel it is a lost cause. I was told by the management department at Orchard Glen that I would hear from someone the next day and as of yet I have heard from anyone. I can't even trust that they will keep their promise. I no longer feel like this neighborhood is a good one for me, but I signed a one year lease. After 2 weeks of living here, I want to move. I don't care what the other respondent put on here about how people are over reacting in mentioning crime here and how we are in tech heavy Santa Clara, this apartment community has a high crime rate for theft as far as I am concerned. DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING YOU VALUE ON YOUR BALCONY!!! I am warning you because the management here will not and, like me, you will be surprised one day too. Read all of the reviews you can and ask others about their experiences before you make an important decision. If you ask me after 2 weeks, I would tell you to explore other options.
Orchard Glenn is located right by a major highway (280). I can get to San Jose in 10min and the surrounding cities just as fast via expressways. Santana Row is minutes away which has tons of restaurants and shopping. Westfield Shopping mall and Cheesecake Factory are also across the street from Santana Row. Libraries, grocery stores, pharmacies, and other shopping centers are located within minutes of this community. The scenery is beautiful in the apartment complex. There are gardens, walkways, benches, and beautiful waterfalls. The community is pet friendly, has a fitness center, pool, and jacuzzi. It is a very safe area with security on the premises. The office staff are helpful and available 9am-6pm everyday. The apartments come with a balcony, fireplace and washer and dryer setup. I love it here and anyone else would too!
