The Wheat Ridge neighborhood of Bel Aire, Colorado lies seven miles northwest of downtown Denver via easy access to I-70. This former agricultural area retains much of the laid-back charm of years past while providing residents of its homes and apartments access to big-city amenities. The nearby recreation center includes a swimming pool, indoor track, and dance and yoga classes.
Outdoor enthusiasts head to Crown Hill Park, which features a mile-long paved track around a lake, ideal for biking, running, and walking. Equestrians enjoy a two-mile loop for riding, and fishermen find quiet places to throw in a line. Within the park, a national urban wildlife refuge treats residents to glimpses of migrating waterfowl. For a quick meal, locals enjoy the cheesesteak sandwiches at Large Marges.

Property Ratings at Outpost on Yukon
First and foremost, the property management for these apartments has absolutely no right to be charging the rent that they do. I would vote these apartments as some of the very worst in the entire state. Seriously. The crime (theft, drugs, property) is ridiculous and largely due to some of the tenants that live there. The appearance of these apartments should be a foretelling of what is to come for anyone who makes the mistake of renting here. Absolutely disgusting.
We moved in several months ago- under the promise of a cleanly environment, quick response, and fairly consistent fees. Upon move in, the apartment was a wreck- I mean mold in the bathroom, sticky goop and dust stuck to the walls and fan, broken appliances, you could walk across the carpet and stuff would immediately be seen sticking to your socks. Calling some family to help, it took 8 of us working 7 hours to get the place so we could even move in. The broken appliances weren’t fixed for weeks and the management has been non responsive and incredibly slow for problems since (we had no shower for a week and a half, our washer broke for a week and would spray water everywhere, hot water is a hit or miss…) On top of that, they promise utilities range somewhere between $90-100, only varying if the company that supplies the utilities changes things on their end. However, they won’t give you access to the companies themselves to see what you’ve been charged and add around $180-$220 in utility fees every month. (We’ve been charged $95 for water the last three months for an apartment of 3 and $40 for trash though all the units share 2 dumpsters that are rarely empty anyways). Don’t let the smiles fool you!! Look elsewhere!
They still have not done nothing to help me they are asking me to leave for they can fix it here mildew mold it still gets you sick they'd people are a joke corporate asked me to take down my review lol ok I swear there don't care they said mold don't happen in Colorado but mildew is just as bad as mold
We moved in here the summer of 2014, and we loved it! Then they switched management. We have had bed bugs twice, and the exterminator said that the bugs have been here for a while. There is mice running about outside all over the place. If you have any kind of problem that needs fixing, it takes the maintenance weeks almost months to get to you. When they do they tell you that your problem isn't theirs, it’s ours. The apartment management comes knocking at your door, and very rudely tells you to do things. I have two babies, and I can’t leave them alone, and the apartment management told me that I had to take down my garbage immediately, even though I was cleaning the house, and I JUST put it out by the door. Who doesn't do that? My husband always takes the trash out when he gets home so it shouldn't be a huge deal. This woman made it that way. The house grows mold in the bedrooms, the kitchen cupboards are very week and falling apart. They replaced the windows, but put them in crooked, same with the gutters. The wood the doors are sitting in is rotting away so the doors do fall of the hinges from time to time. We have random people walking through the complex all hours of the night. We have homeless people asking children to sneak a beer out of their parents fridges, and another one asking people if they want to buy OxyContin in the far back parking lot, by the playground where all the kids hang out. The Children run around in the middle of the street at all hours of the day and night, with no parents to be seen. They also love to break glass in the parking lot where the cars are. It takes weeks for the maintenance people to clean it up, so usually us tenants do it. We even saw a guy get shot at the Walgreens across the way. The police have been here countless times, and not for good reasons. This is not a great place to live if you have a family with children. This community isn't with how much they are charging. They disrespect you in your home (that you’re paying for). They don’t care about you and your family, and they like to raise your rent at random times, even though your contract states something different. They also like to lose your money, and say they you never paid it. They are trying to get rid of all of the tenants that have been here for years by raising their rent, just so they can turn it into section 8 housing. All in all its not a great place to live.
Ever since new management has taken over the place has really gone down hill. The place was tagged with yellow graffiti months ago and still have not painted over it. There is only a person on staff twice a week and only for 4 hours. Raw sewage has created mold and they are not willing to take care of it. Cement parking bar ar falling apart and iron rods sticking out near the playground so kids can fall on them dangerous. Leaking roof even after replacing it. Ceiling fan not worked for month still not taken care of it. However do love neighbors and neighborhood.
Maintenance is slow and you just get told your added to the list. After 3 months you might get something fixed. Parking lot is dangerous. Old cement park bars and huge rods sticking out where kids can fall on them. There was so much mold found they had to replace flooring and carpeting. Water leaks in through the roof and down the the ceiling fan. We were promised a lot with the take over with new management only a few things delt with. They put new roof on and gutters and still did not fix water leaking on the stairs making it very dangerous when it freezes. When snow gets on cement pouches they are very slick.
