Situated in Northwest Raleigh next to William B. Umstead State Park, Crabtree Valley takes its name from the popular mall located on its central east side. Glenwood Avenue, which passes through the heart of the neighborhood, contains several other shopping destinations, as well as several restaurants. Crabtree Valley is about five miles northwest of Downtown Raleigh and three miles north of NC State University. It is convenient to PNC Arena, Raleigh-Durham International Airport, and the North Carolina Museum of Art. With a backyard like Umstead State Park, hiking, fishing, boating, and camping are always available. Covering 5,579 acres, this large park has 13 miles of multi-use trails, ideal for horseback riding and bicycling, and over 20 miles of hiking trails.

Overture Crabtree is a community that offers people 55 and over an exciting new lifestyle! Besides one and two bedroom apartments, there is a gym, movie theatre, hair salon, a big beautiful pool area and many other things for everyone’s enjoyment! Best of all is that you have friends all around you!
I like all of the emails that I received from overture they keep me well informed and Wright up-to-date on everything even though I haven’t moved into our apartment yet. I also like the way it was treated in the move-in process. I was helped along and guided all through the process
I chose Overture because it is near my family. I have been very happy here. It was e3asy to make new friends and participate in those activities that were of interest to me .
I like the fact that it's a diversified environment. The people are friendly. I've only been here 3 months so I'm still settling in.
Overture is a nice place to live. The facility is spotless. The office employees are friendly and eager to please. Above all, for us retirerees, you will make new friends and will not feel alone.
Like my apartment. Close to mall and grocery stores and beltline. Very secure neighborhood. Plenty of parking. Very clean elevators and hallways.

Having resided at Overture Crabtree for over 3 years, my satisfaction has vastly improved. Tiffany has been our assistant manager for close to 3 years providing continuity, which is important for active seniors! She is well supported by Liz and Andrea. Our new vending machine provides a wide variety of snacks as well as protein drinks and healthy options. I appreciate our coffee area having a nice variety of seasonal teas. Having the fitness center is a wonderful opportunity to work out, day or night. I enjoy being able to get Tubi and you-tube at our on-site theatre, and our vending machine has movie sized snacks! Package deliveries are occasionally a problem and staff appears more receptive to delivering large over-sized packages to our doors. Our Event Calendar has also improved and I look forward to a painting event. I anticipate staff will continue to be receptive to resident’s needs and wishes.

Overture Crabtree has the potential to be a very pleasant place for seniors whose finances are somewhat limited. It is not elegant, but it is comfortable. There is a feeling of safety and security.

Nice place, many extras like gym, movies, activities. The people here are what really make this place attractive. Some are involved in just about everything, from gardening, to playing BINGO or POKER. Others just like to chitchat. Still others are more observers.

Overture is a nice place to live. It provides exercise programs in fully equipped fitness center. Also games and entertainment with music. Excellent opportunity to create new friends.

The residents are very friendly and helpful and there is always something to do. Learning new games is a fun way to meet new people. As in any apartment building there is a certain amount of noise from your neighbors, but not a game changer. There are lots of outings and reasons to gather in the great room as well as a variety of fitness classes for every age and ability.

Overture is a great place to reside. The residents are nice, and are willing to help one another in any way possible. The maintenance team is the best ever. They are always there when you need them. They are very knowledgeable and professional. We have an office staff that's very considerate. They are always there for us. Our manager is never too busy . Regardless to how busy she is, she will come out of her office, to address our concern.

The property is well maintained and managed, with courteous and friendly staff. Maintenance staff responds quickly, solves the issue, and, if necessary explains what needs to be done within a given time-frame. Management is most helpful and open to questions at any time. The office is always staffed, ready to be of assistance. Our apartment is lovely, quiet, and spacious. When we moved in, we found it clean and ready for us. I am having a very good experience with my apartment community. The residents are very friendly and many are very active. They lead various activities in the community. It is fun to work alone side other residents to celebrate holidays or other recognitions. For example, there was a recognition for breast cancer awareness which included a “walk” and spaghetti and meatballs luncheon with all the trimmings and decorations. The same was true for Black History month which included presentations, games and food every week during the holiday. These are the events I have enjoyed. Other regular activities include an excellent weekly breakfast and weekly wine Don with heavy refreshments which are staff led. There are also organized games and activities which are resident led. These are the things that create “community.” These are the things that active residents love.

A car is a necessity or one is confined to Overture. I was sad to discover that there is absolutely nothing within walking distance. Those who enjoy Overture have cars and the physical ability to walk around the very hilly block or use the gym. The residents who are the happiest here have excellent health, a vehicle, and a family who checks on them. Keep in mind that this facility is for very “Active Seniors,” and is not “Independent Living.” I would suggest staying in the guest suite, checking the “walk score,” and the “noise levels,” prior to becoming a resident. While my personal experience may not be stellar, those who love lots of activities, parties, games, and have transportation love it!

There lots of steps to finish before your move-in but there is always someone in the office ready to help you. I had lots and lots of questions about everything about my move but they never seemed to mind when I called for answers.

The staff was professional and informative as we toured the community and went through the application process. Maintenance was very helpful for any minor issues we had upon move-in. At this time in my life Overature Crabtree offers carefree living with complete independence. There is always something to do with your peers and quiet times when you want to be alone. Being with people and being as active as you can be is paramount to happy, healthy aging!

Shoddy workmanship of this bldg is causing lots of issues now. Management is more concerned with just filling empty apartments; not dealing with the current occupants.

This is a good place to be. The warm and kindness of the residence is amazing. The cleanliness of the place is lovely and when something needs to be done in the apartment it is done in a timely fashion. Thank you
