Enjoy all that downtown Philadelphia has to offer combined with the suburban feel of Northeast Philadelphia in Oxford Circle-Castor. This neighborhood lies just 10 miles north of the city center, but locals don't have to make the trek to South Street to experience the real Philadelphia.
Once you find a rental property, get ready to explore the area. First, meander down Castor Avenue. Here, you can essentially eat your way around the world with Mexican cuisine at Tio Pepe, Colombian at On Charcoal, and Chinese at China City. If you're still hungry, pick up some more groceries at Save-A-Lot.
Don't forget to take some time to unwind at Max Myers Recreation Center. This huge complex houses a pool, playground, ball fields, and tennis courts.

Property Ratings at Oxford Apartments
This place is the dirtiest apartment building i have ever lived in! The management do not care that the building is infested with mice running around non stop! They don’t take care of the building everything is falling apart! Not safe to live here for no human this place should be shut down . I’ve call L&I multiple times about how unsafe this building is and how the living conditions is unbearable! Please don’t waste your time even touring this place! Your going to be unhappy living in a junky dirty apartment complex
I was scheduled for a tour @4pm and waited for about 15 minutes for someone to show up and they did not. I called the leasing office multiple times trying every single number there was and nobody answered. A resident opened the door for me and pointed me to the leasing office and it appeared to be closed nobody was in there and the light were off. This is very inconvenient for anyone looking for an apartment save yourself the time.
Management is virtually nonexistent. One of the washers ruined my clothes and they did nothing about it except raise the price to do laundry. People constantly smoke inside all the buildings. I’ve had problems with mice and roaches for months now. The mice live in the walls and get into the apartment through the AC unit. Save yourself the frustration and live somewhere else.
Very thin walls, you can hear everything above and below you (conversations, tvs etc). Floors are very squeaky. If someone lives above you be prepared to have sleepless nights if they walk back in forth nonstop. Complaints don't matter even if you've been paying rent on time . Well, other people complaints matter just not mines. Not to mention SMOKING! Everyone smokes in the hallways or back hall and in there apartment, literally suffocating in cigarette smell, sort of a nightmare for a non smoker. Hall way carpeting is filthy. Dogs poop in hallway no one cleans up behind them and the list goes on….
This is one of the worst apartment units I’ve stayed in. If I could give them less than one star I would. Management does not care about tenants. My husband and I have living here for about one month now and we have repeatedly asked for them to fix the walls where there are holes in them, the walls are not properly sealed and there are mosquitoes and flys all around the apartment. I can even hear mice running through the walls when it’s quiet and my husband even saw one from one of the holes. They make it seem like a really nice property with renovated apartment units and all, but you only find out once you start living in these unhealthy living conditions and you get stuck in a lease. I do no recommend this place and please consider other options before you decide to live here!
I love living this place is a quiet place a great place the neighbors are awesome never had a complain with none of them, I recommend this place to be ur new place.
Absolutely love living here and things are done right for a great price. Management team very responsive, responsible and helpful! Maintenance was also very quick -- my issues were solved so fast -- there was one time that I left around noon, and by the time (3pm-ish) I got back my sink was already fixed.
WOW! I can’t say enough about the apartment we toured today ! Literally our first and last tour. The energy of the leasing office and the warm welcoming feel and the lobby smelled like lilac ! Can’t wait for our August move in ! Deposit made anxiously awaiting !
Living here has been great very good neighbor. 2 years and no problems if something needs to be fixed it fixed in time
I am very happy to be able to review here. I have been living in this apartments for over a year now.and i am pleased to say that it was good for a starter apartment. But now it is time to move on, being that my family is growing and also they have been doing renovations here for a while and it will take about another year or 2. It is a bit uncomfortable and wouldnt want my child waking up all day because of the noise they make here all day. But over all the apartment is nice abd clean. Love the fact that you dont pay for utilities!! - MosesB
I am very pleased to say that i have been quite happy with this apartment at the beginning of my lease, but now its getting a bit uncomfortable since my family is growling and the noise they are making from the renovations here are loud. Looks like the renovations will be on for another year, so having a newborn here would not be a good idea. But i do love the fact that is clean, and also i pay no utilities.. But overall i am happy... But time to move on- MosesB
