Property Ratings at Oxon Hill Village
Parking for residents has gotten progressively worse over the years! This community does not have enough parking to accommodate the residents that pay rent(going up by the second) to live here. Overflow lot does not have enough spaces and I had my car towed due to the overflow lot not having any more spaces so many cars are forced to create additional spots. They are supposedly changing parking in the following week but have not suspended towing of residents. I have a parking permit displayed in my window and still they allow the towing company to tow residents KNOWING there is not enough spots for the parking spots they handed out. Called the main office and dude on the phone told me "you just gonna have to find somewhere else to park". Their customer service is HORRID!

Flooding when it rains, infestation of coachriaches drawn to the leaks, they come out of the vents, light fixtures, under the carpet, and Amin the hallway, from the busted baseboards, and leaking ceilings and sheetrock. Management will NOT repair water leaks bc it’s “not in their Budget”. Neighbors smoke weed, blast music, and blow the horn late at night and early morning. Washing machines don’t clean clothes (not enough water is permitted in cycle to cover clothes”. Tub peeled but they haven’t fixed it nor paint that peeks when it rains. Maintenance and people that don’t live here park in your space. You’ll have to call a tow after a long day of work and wait 30 mins to an he just to park. The shower changed from scorching hot to cold multiple times during your shower. They claim to fix it but don’t. Been here a year and can’t wait to get the hell away from here. Came here during a severe surgery and medical conditions. It’s been hell! Worst apartment ever. Don’t let the cost fool you. It’s NOT worth it! Wish I’d paid attention to the reviews! I HYE this place and will be vacating as soon as possible now that my health will allow it.
If you never have guest, or your guest do not have vehicles, then this is the perfect place for you. And please do not have more than one vehicle they issue you one parking spot per household no matter how many names are on the lease. You also have greedy neighbors who will hold their cars in the blank spots for days and months that are only supposed to be parked there for a maximum of 24hrs
This is a wonderful place to live and raise a family, there is a recreation center here and an after school program for the kids. There is a pool here and play area for kids and fitness program for adults. There is no problem with pest, a low crime area, the buildings are well maintained and there is on the spot maintenance. Location close to major highways, the metro, downtown DC and two military installations. Its within walking distance of a mall and a movie theater. Its the convenience of a small city in the suburbs.
OXONHILL VILLAGE HAS GOT TO BE ONE OF THE BEST APARTMENTS I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE.THE APARTMENTS ARE BIG AND SPACOUS AND THE SWIMMING AND RECREATION AND PARTIES AND DINNER WAS GREAT. THE BEST PART IS THE IS THE SUBURBAN AREA AND CONVIENCES.
I AM CURRENTLY RESIDING AT OXON HILL VILLAGE APARTMENTS AND AM LOVING MY EXPERIENCE THERE WITH STAFF AND RESIDENCE. I LIVED ON THE COMMUNITY BEFORE BACK IN 1998 AND IT WAS THE SAME EXPERIENCE. PARKING IS GOOD, PROPERTY IS CLEAN, NOISE LEVEL IS AT A MINIMUM. WHEN SERVICES ARE NEEDED THE PROMPTNESS IS EXCELLENT. I WOULD RECOMMEND THE COMMUNITY TO EVERYONE.
Oxon Hill Village is the perfect place to live if you want to be surrounded by everything. They have a shuttle that transports residence to and from the metro station, a gated pool area with many lawn chairs and grills, they have a gated field where you can play many sports such as soccer, football and baseball. They also have their very own community center that is free to the residence. Inside the community center, is a full basketball court, exercise room, and a computer lab for kids. The staff is extremely helpful as well. They actually care about their tenants. The maintenance have quick responses to requests and are available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Did I mention how beautiful the yard looks? The grounds are very cleaned and I highly doubt you will find trash anywhere but the trash cans. Oxon Hill Village is it's own community inside of a community.
I have been a resident of Oxon Hill Village since April 2014. The parking is horrendous. If you are single and have no social life then this is the place for you but if you are not what I just described then run for the hills. My husband and I are both on the lease but you only receive 1 permanent parking spot regardless of the amount of tenants. The quote on quote (few) visitors parking spots that are available are contingent on if there is a vacant apartment in which they will open up the spot. The parking situation has caused us to not have guests over because we cannot ensure adequate parking for them, not be out too late(meaning any time after 5:00 p.m), and simply trying not to both be gone at the same time or ride more together to ensure the other has a place to park. You are allowed to park on the street but because of all the parked service vehicles and yellow marked curbs/ fire lanes, you still will have issues with parking. At times you get so desperate you end up parking in restricted areas. We have received numerous parking tickets and have been towed twice. We have paid well over $1300.00 in parking tickets/ tow fees in the last year. The police and tow truck companies lurk in the parking lot because they are aware of the inadequate parking, knowing they will definitely have cars to tow and tickets to give out. If you can afford to pay parking tickets periodically then this is the place for you. The actual apartment itself is beautiful and spacious but like I said I can't afford to park here.
This is a wonderful place to live and to raise a family their is a lot of community value here, everyone looks out for each other and each other children there is plenty of activities for kids to do. There is a fitness(free) center for adult residents and play grounds, recreation center, pools and computer room for children. and after school care for children of working parents. This place is close to major highways and within (short)walking distance of a mall that has major stores and a movie theater. This complex has a low crime rate, 24 hour security patrol on the property, no problems with bugs and rodents. Updated appliances in the apartment living here is like living around family and good friends.
The area isn't the safest but the building employees are helpful, however I have had an unpleasant experience with one of the workers that came to fix a leak in the apartment. They unfortunately have assigned parked that only allows one car. On the up side the stores are within walking distance. They also have a nice rec area for kids and a gym.
I must say that my apartment isn't the best but it is not the worst. I am using this apartment as a time to transition and save money. They have a great 2nd chance rental program for those with bad credit. The units are not bad just the features are cheap. The paint peels terribly, the carpet has been coming up, the fixtures are always leaking or breaking and needing new parts. I wish they would get a better repairmen because majority of the time they fail to repair any of the issues I call in. Which in turn makes me have to call resident services multiple times. Though they are always willing to work with me & my requests. I did have an issue with maintenance when I first moved in with expensive items "disappearing". I called in the issue and the management team refused to deal with my complaint because they would not deal with accusations. I understand, just was very upset and purchased a heavy duty safe. It is a good transitional apartment, would not recommend anything long term. If you have kids it's not the best either. I have a two year old whom I try to take to the playground on a regular basis which is always crowded with teenagers misbehaving and cops asking them to stop soliciting. Parking is absolutely ridiculous!! You have to fight for spots that are assigned to you. You get one spot and on visitor pass which there NEVER are any available visitor spots. Or if you don't have a car and/or license they will refuse you a spot even in the case you have guests.
Oxon Hill Village is a great place to live. They have so many amenities to make it seem like more of a resort then an apartment complex. I love the gym and party room. The location is convenient for shopping and bus line to work. Having a disabled granddaughter it was perfect to get her to school.
Great place to live, great closet space, love my kitchen, love the neighborhood for children , the pool is just wonderful and it always have life guards for swimming safety. I really enjoy living here. Looking forward to raise my girls here its really a beautiful place to live, also the place has a gym and a computer room for kids as well as a play ground..so far so good..loving it
