The mix of cosmopolitan flair and low-key atmosphere once led LA Weekly to speculate that North Hollywood just might be the best place to live in the Los Angeles area. This community has become popular among artists, writers, filmmakers, and actors seeking balance between easy access to Hollywood and a quieter, more suburban home environment.
The local food and bar scene is robust, and the bohemian vibe of the NoHo Art District attracts all manner of offbeat creative types. Uncommon among Los Angeles-area communities, much of North Hollywood is quite walkable, with food, drinks, galleries, and performance venues just a leisurely stroll away from one another. Thankfully for renters, all of the perks of this location come at a relatively affordable cost. Most renters pay an average of $2,282 to rent in North Hollywood, about $500 less than the Los Angeles average.

Property Ratings at Pacific Pointe Apartments
I have been here for almost 7 years now. When I first came they redid the entire pool area which was. Bit painful to listen to but worth it, they also painted the halls and cleaned carpets but since then maintenance has been lax until the last 2 years with consistent maintenance requests and complaints we finally got a new AC unit a year ago after enduring several dozen days over the hottest days of the year stuck in 90 plus degree conditions. The elevator in my wing breaks down every other month for a couple to a few days. The amenities including the jacuzzi, pool, gym, under ground parking (if you are lucky), tennis court, junior basketball court, basically nonexistent volleyball court and proximity to arts district and freeways makes this a great place for the price. Service dogs allowed. Cats welcome. People are generally nice. The current manager, Alejandra, does the best she can all things considered. With such an old building it is tough. Back in the day like 25 plus years ago I have heard this complex had some wild "Hollywood" parties and housed a few famous people may have heard of. Hope this helps anyone interested.
My brother & I needed to move to Hollywood for work. Our mom went on Apartments.com to look for places for us to check out. Pacific Pointe was the first one we looked at. We liked the location ~ close to freeways, airport, & 2 shopping malls, All the ammenities ~ pool, BBQ area, tennis & basketball courts, & fitness center! Our apartment is huge compared to others we looked at. We each have our own bedroom & bathroom. In the commom areas there are trees & other plants to give it a real at home feel! So glad we choose this one it felt like home right away!
Pacific Pointe Apartments is located just off the 170 Burbank exit and on ramp, about a mile away from the arts district of North Hollywood, and less than a mile from a huge park. It's gated and you have a pretty great chance of not facing the highway. Even so, you can't hear the highway. There is on-site laundry, a pool and hot tub and a small but useful gym. Lots of trees and greenery, balconies on every unit, and basically its just great. Finally, my one bedroom apartment is much larger than any I've seen at a similar rate anywhere in the city. Most of my friends could fit their apartment in mine, and many of them pay more. It's a great place and I'm very thankful to have found it.
We've lived here for 12 years, so we do like some things. There have been ups and downs. The current manager has been very helpful to us, and I think that's because we're kind to her. I've seen others be horrible. She has to work hard against the headquarters. We also live in a corner apartment and I think that helps us with sound. We are away from any noise like the pool area. The pool is a good size and very deep. 10ft. The hallways are old and need a fix up as well as the workout room. But we've kept our place clean and when we need work we make sure to be kind to the costodian and maintenance. But it's true that their bosses are not forthcoming with things that should be fixed or replaced in the units. We recently had the AC replaced, that took some leg work on our end. So living here is not an easy ride. You'll need to push and be kind. I'd like to move to a newer place but we love the location to the metro and the neighborhood is quiet.
