Property Ratings at Pallister Plaisance Apartments
Elevator shut down every other day. Laundry didn’t work. Halls smelled like crack. Mold issues and bed bugs. It was awful!
Worst place I have ever lived! It is very dirty. The elevator is like a big trash bin. Most of washing machine and dryers are not working. When something need to be fixed they are carless and reluctant to come and fix it. And If they do they do a real lousy job.
We moved in January and since it’s been bad, it’s always so dirty and smells like pee. Since i moved in the elevator is constantly down and they also stay turning off the water, super unprofessional. Save your money and keep looking it’s definitely not worth it especially when they want you to pay for your own ac
One of the worst places I have ever lived. the management is incompetent and care less. washing machine and driers are not working %90 of the time. the elevators look like a big trashcan. And if something is broken it takes forever for them to come and fix it!
Lived here for two years, and it got worse every day. Initially, it was fine. Management was alright, but it quickly devolved. Our apartment still has problems from the day we moved in they were “going to” fix. Management has changed probably two or three times since then and about 6 different random maintenance people have come into my apartment and they all said “okay I can’t fix this today but I’ll be back later this week.” Never heard from them again. Ever. Gated parking is a joke, it’s broken every other day. Water hardly works. Usually only one elevator is working and it’s sketchy as can be and probably littered with trash (like half eaten food or cigarettes). They just took away the trash removal service, so we have to take our trash to the dumpster now (instead of the 2 bins in the laundry rooms). Which is probably a good thing because this place is infested with roaches. I really mean infested. My apartments pretty clean most of the time and I still have them. I probably won’t even bother telling management because they won’t do anything. I could really go on about the maintenance stuff but they’re landlords, I’m sure you get it. I am so sick of living here. It feels so hopeless. It’s disgusting and sad, and no one except some of the tenants seem to care. This really could be a gem but they run it so poorly. There’s well over 100 units so I’m sure it’s not easy, but it’s pretty clear whatever corporation owns it doesn’t care at all. There was one manager who was really nice and genuine, and they fired her pretty quick because she was actually trying to help people. I’ve seen the new guy maybe once in 6 months. Don’t live here. It ain’t worth the utilities.
Been here since August and it’s awful. We just got new management but nothing has really changed. The only good thing is the price for the space you get and utilities being included but even then, we have cockroaches here and the office just blamed the people next to us. The ‘gated’ parking lot isn’t gated, lights outside don’t turn on until like 10pm so it’s super dark out front for the longest time. Not a single floor has a working washer AND dryer. I do laundry on 10 and dry on 2, and each load is $1.75 for the nastiest machines, plus the elevators feel like they’re gonna drop any second, it’s horrifying. We pay for a newly renovated apartment and our apartment was not done on move-in day and still isn’t done to this day. We have reminded the office multiple times and they never try to plan ahead. They call day or or see us in the hallway and ask if they can come and when we cancel our plans to wait for them, they don’t show up. Prior management gave us a credit so we weren’t paying the full rent and we’re paying the un-renovated apartment price and when bringing it up to the new management they told us since we have the new appliances we have to pay. I don’t remember agreeing to pay full price for an unfinished apartment. . If people still have to come in to fix it then it’s not finished. Like I have a hole in my kitchen with a superb old rusty fan from where the oven used to be. Place is pretty dirty too.
This place is horrible so today I tried washing my clothes and one of the washers was broke so I went to floor five to wash and I leave. I come back and the whole washroom is flooded and hallway so nobody left a note stating it was broke also THEY HAVR ROACHES I literally bombed my apartment over 5 times and they come back still. the elevator is always broke or it’s always trash on it like rotting fruit or fast food trash THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE don’t waste your money
If I could give the 0 stars I would. Don’t move here you will regret it. Management is rude and disrespectful ! They take forever to complete any work orders, in order for them to even think about coming to fix something in your apartment Lawyers may have to get involved. Management is constantly lying about small things. They need new management period. Ive had so many issues in my apartment that my rent should have been free , from the moment I moved in there were issues. Save yourself the hassle MOVE SOME PLACE ELSE
I’ve lived here for multiple years and one thing keeps me: relatively affordable rent. I try to keep an open mind and recognize that this is a large apartment complex. That being said, there are many things I wish I could change Cigarette smoke is SO heavy in this building that I’ve considered getting an air purifier. My hair and clothes still smell like smoke when I leave town. Marijuana smell is almost always present as well which I wouldn’t have an issue with except for the fact that it’s nearly constant. The elevators are only both in operation 50% of the time, and they are filled with trash and unknown sticky substances frequently. The building is “secure” but there are ways to get in without a key. Parking is included which is a plus, however, the parking gate also only functions 50% of the time so anybody has access. Residents (or non residents, who knows) park in non parking spots which ends up blocking cars in when there are plenty of spaces to go around they are just further away from the building entrance. There are frequently issues with the hot water which I want to have sympathy about, but also I shouldn’t be without hot water for 5 days multiple times in a year. Unlike others, I don’t have complaints about the office staff. They want to work a 9-5 just like anyone else and the office has been better about being staffed during posted hours in the recent months. They have responded promptly to my requests, there are just many things I understand as a resident probably can’t be changed.
It has been hell Living at Pallister since the new landlord. At least with the last one I could call her to get things done. Not with this one though. She is Never available and when there is a fire, smoke concern, gas issue or any issues with the water, which happens a lot...the voicemail is full on the emergency line. I was told it is the building owners aunt who is now the landlord, so I guess that is why she is not doing anything for the tenants.
The building is quite and the location is close to everything however there are two trash cans in each laundry room for people to dispose of their trash which is convenient but the residents will put trash bags on the floor, pizza boxes on the floor etc... when the trash can Is full people also put loose food in the can and the trash doesn’t always get emptied on the weekend I would appreciate it if management started making people take their trash to the outside dumpster. Since new management has been in charge for a little over year now the up keep of the building has declined
Living here in this building has been a wonderful, smooth ride. For starters it is in a wonderful area, only 2 minutes away from the Fisher Theatre as well as the New Center Building in addition to many other attractions such as restuarants and parks. This building is kept in great conditions and everyone that I have come into contact with is very friendly. This apartment is the perfect choice if you are looking for a nice apartment building with everything included, a nice area, and things to do that's fun as well as close to your home.

Apartments and building are very clean. Maintenance and office staff are always friendly and on top of things. The building has had a problem with bed bugs, so take precautions before moving in! The guest lot is super small and always full. There have been several cars in the guest lot broken into, I haven't seen any broken into in the resident lot. Despite car break-ins, I've never felt unsafe there. Overall it's a pretty nice place for the price.
Pro: This is a great place to stay for a very cheap price. It is very safe. The parking lot is safe. The maintenance is super quick and the maintenance staff is very friendly. Con: It would be great if they keep the hallway clean and do something about visitor parking lot as it is always full.
