Property Ratings at Palm Gardens Apartments
This was my husband and I’s first apartment together. We have so many wonderful memories to look back on when we think of our three years here. We miss the home we made here every time. Arely and the on site team were always so respectful and genuinely nice. It is an older building, but well maintained. The way they’ve curated the space with the pool, pond and plants really makes you feel like you’re in a tropical getaway. 10/10 would recommend!
Arely and all the staff on-site are wonderful. We lived 2 + years or so in this apartment. The apartment is ideal for tenants who work M-F during the daytime--more for your evening and weekend rest time. It is near the freeway (the start of 110 in fact) so you may hear some cars blasting their engines like they have no tomorrow (don't know why) but it is overall pretty quiet. The on-site team is great at fixing things very quickly; the on-site manager is super helpful if you need help. It is a big apartment complex so like in any other apartment there will be various types of tenants--it takes all kinds of people to make a community so as long as you are courteous to others and be communicative there should be no issue.
I lived at this complex for a short time and couldn't wait to leave. This complex is located by the freeway which is constantly noisy and the units is small with a single bathroom even for a two bedroom. There is also constant noise from the maintenance worker renovating all the empty units and with their music blasting. The workmanship is done by an amateur at best. The maintenance supervisor isn't a professional and hires sub workers that knows even less. The manager does not acknowledge you as you walk by unless there is a complaint to tell you. And the other worker in the office doesn't even know what is going on in the complex. Rent goes up every year like clockwork. I don't know who is writing these great reviews it is probably written by the manager herself.
My stay at Palm Gardens Apartment over the last 10 years has been excellent. The complex itself is large and always cleaned and kept up to date with remodeling upgrades. My unit itself was upgraded 3 times since my initial lease started. The building itself is beautiful with ambient lighting, plants, ponds, gym and a large pool with plenty of seating. The maintenance workers are amazingly quick and are available at all hours of the day should you experience an emergency at your unit or put in a request for repairs. All of this, ably managed by the nicest building manager who is quick to respond to messages and considerate of your request and very professional. Needless to say, I enjoyed my stay at Palm Gardens and left with nothing but good memories of a place I called home for 10 years.
The apartment complex is beautiful and well kept at all times. Very family oriented and super accommodating. I was new to California and this complex and the people who work in it and the people who live in it , made it the absolute best experience. Palm Garden is a place you can truly call home. 10/10!
Palm Gardens Apartments was a fantastic place to live. The place itself is beautiful, full of plants, a pond and a pool. The patios are very big, with many tables and chairs. The management and the workers there are very nice and will come and fix anything if there is a problem at your house. The place is constantly remodeled so it is always up to date. The gym at the place is perfect, they have all the equipments you need for a full body training. The view from my apartment was beautiful since it was towards the mountains and a very open space since it is next to the freeway, I loved my time there and hope that many others enjoy It as much as i did.
Stayed here back in 2000 while I was pursuing my graduate studies in USC. The apartment was ideally located: - Very near the 110 on/off ramps. - Located at the heart of South Pasadena commercial district - Walking distance from many shops - Safe and secure environment The rent was very reasonable back then (circa 2000). I would imagine the current rates are still reasonable. The apartment managers were so helpful and responsive. By the way, we did not have the gym and nice landscapes back in 2000. All we had was the swimming pool.
I love so much this place. I have only good memory of this place. Especially, manager is so kind and very professional of her job. If I go back to south Pasadena I will go back this apartment!!!!!!!strongly recommend!!! And handyman of apartment ..he is so kind!!!! ..from oh's family.
1800 State Street is a nice apt building. The building is clean. The manager and work crew are friendly. We felt safe during our 2.5 years stay there.
This place was a gem to find. The location is in a great area and is quiet. This apartment truly became our home. I’ve lived in many different apartments in California and other states and this one definitely tops the majority. The property manager, Arely is so caring and superb. I wish I could take her with me to any apartment I live in. The maintanence crew is always on it and they handle jobs efficiently and timely. There are a lot of amenities and pros to this place - including parking and there is a ton of street parking as well. Definitely will miss the staff and apartment complex.
This is the best apartment complex that I have lived in. The superintendent Arely was extremely helpful and always available to help when I needed her. The maintenance staff was the same and would look at and fix anything I needed them to within the same day. It is a great complex that is clean, quiet, well maintained, and in a wonderful neighborhood.
I just recently moved because of a transfer from work. I loved the size and location of this property. The amenities are great and the management team and her staff are amazing and quick. I can't say enough about the property manager, she was always easily accessible and reliable. She responded quickly and helped me out a ton when I moved.
My family and I have been living here for more than two years. It is a lovely place to live. They renovated the floor with laminate before our moving in and upgrated the kitchen appliances last year. It is an old building, but the manager and her staff are doing their best to keep it updated, clean, and cozy for the tenants. We are leaving California and missing this home, but I cannot forget very patient, kind, and helpful manager who always takes care of every single problem. She is one of the best managers.
We had the privilege to live here over the past year. It has been great. With small children, security is always a concern. At Palm Gardens, we always felt safe and never had any issues. The neighbors are great and the leasing staff and maintenance team is wonderful. They keep the property clean at all times and were such a pleasure to work with. We definitely recommend living here.
We have been living in this apartment for a little over a year and love it. My kids love that we have a clean pool. Our manager is always there to help with our needs and solve our problems. It is great that she is always reachable. Also, she always has her happy face on. Moreover, the staff here is also great. they do their best to keep the unit clean and neat. You can always find someone to help you in the apartment.
My family and I lived at this property for 5 years, the apartment is nestled at the end of State st. close to the 110 Freeway exit. I loved living there for many reasons, the swimming pool, the availability of the on-site gym, the convenience of the location, and the upkeep of the property as well. There are plenty of trees and plants within the property including a pond and the flowering plants are always in bloom and well manicured. If we ever needed anything to be fixed in the apartment, Management always took care of it. Before we moved, management started upgrading the bathrooms, added Hardwood floors and recessed lighting in the apartments so every single apartment has recently updated. We left since we bought a home.. miss South Pasadena a lot.
I currently live at Palm Gardens apartments and while I can say that the location is excellent, the apartments themselves are lacking a bit. The location is very close to the 110, 210, and 134 freeways which is very convenient for commuters going to work and school. The management at these apartments can be rather frustrating when it comes to fixing current problems in the apartment. There also has been a problem with plumbing so the water has been shut off for more than 8 full days (8:30-5:30) sometimes with little notice. I do like that the two bedrooms come with 2 parking spaces, although it is very common for management or an employee to park in your spot. Overall, decent apartments but definitely overpriced and lacking in good management.
Palm Garden Apartments in the community of South Pasadena is not the ideal place to live. The rent is extremely high for a place that has no elevator and the property is not worth the price that one renter would think. The back bed rooms are extremely hot because the AC, does not reach the rooms. There is only one bathroom, which is very small for a two bedroom or a one bedroom. The landlord does not keep the property clean at all. Its very noisy during the day and the freeway noise all night long. Yes, there is a pool, but, only can be used between May and September, the gym always has broken equipment and the so called TV's with Cable are never working . The land lord, increases rent by 300 or more after the first year. He is very dishonest and only hires cheap help. Many have had property stolen. This is not a place to live, run before you sign a lease at Palm Garden Apartments, its not worth 1850 - 2100. You will be sorry...
