Property Ratings at Palm Gates Apartments
There were some upgrades made recently; new windows and garage doors, ventilation for A/C (it used to just blow around in the crawlspace before coming through the floor vent). That's mostly the end of the good. The units were old and cheap. The newest thing in the whole apartment was the microwave. The counter tops were tile and lumpy. The cabinets were cheap and fell apart easily. The linoleum pieces popped up and had weird raised spots. Almost every outlet was loose or cracked. The floor creaked with every step. The blinds broke and work orders to fix them were never addressed. The sidewalks were uneven and filled with water when the irrigation came on. There was not a lot of insulation; our electric bill was well over $400 during the summer for ~950-1000 sq ft, set at 80 during the day and 77 at night. Cooking in the kitchen was miserably hot due to the old oven/stove. This isn't necessarily the complex's fault, but there were wasps/hornets everywhere. Feral cats were everywhere; one gave birth in my yard and the kittens died, so I had to clean up the dead bodies. Management was so rude that I actively avoided putting in work orders and just dealt with things being broken. My garage door kept breaking, and after a few repairs I was told to try and fix it myself. I submitted a work order online and didn't hear back; when I went to talk to the manager, she didn't even know that there was a website for the complex. Multiple times I opened the door to find a someone in my backyard trying to steal something. My garage was broken into. My car was stolen, as well as my neighbor's. Car windows were pretty commonly smashed. Spare tires were taken. License plates were taken. I had to put a piece of plastic over my license plate so that my registration sticker couldn't be taken anymore. We had to install kill switches in all of our vehicles. There were no cameras, no fences, and no security. The street lights were constantly not working so it was very dark at night. The rent is cheap, but so is everything else.
The person who answered was so rude when I called. She made it point to tell me that no one was on notice so there’s no open units.
I called directly asking if there is availability on an apartment that is being advertised through this website. I was told automatically that this website isn’t up to date but was told with an attitude that it surprises you on how these people bring in tenants. I asked them a second question if they knew if there was any availability on any apartment. I was told that “Your best bet is to keep on calling and calling,” Vicky mentioned. That was the answer this individual told me. Careless once again. This short conversation automatically gives a bad note for them. Wouldn’t recommend them at all!
Looking for an apartment, and was told that they haven't had an apartment open in over 6 months. This website is not maintained and the woman on the phone was very unhelpful.
