Palm Island represents itself as a NON-Smoking facility. However they will do absolutely NOTHING about people smoking in apartments, and SECOND HAND SMOKE infiltrating into your apartment. Nothing.
My downstairs neighbor is a chain smoker and I'm being held hostage by his smoking habits. I can't use my balcony. I can't even open my balcony door to get some fresh air because there is no fresh air to be found. My living room invariably smell like a smoking den when I tried it the first few times. With the heat and my asthma - this was/is NOT a good combination. Been here a couple of months and already experienced water issues a few times. I submitted the Service Requests online but never got any acknowledgment from the Front Office that they've received my Service Requests, nor any notifications that the problems are being worked on. They didn't even follow up to let me know that the problems have been resolved...VERY STRANGE. Why provide the option to report online if they don't even use it... Other than that, it's a quiet, decent, and pricey place to live.
This apartment complex is very big as in approximately 400 apartments. It is short staffed but still maintained pretty well but could improve with enlarged staff such as AC filter changes and general maintenence. It is also very busy but conversely has good benefits such as work out room and swimming pool. Lasrly, like most all apartment living in California, it is very expensive, especially for my wife and I who are disabled and retired. I am a disabled Veteran. We also have a section 8 voucher which has assisted us greatly.
