Property Ratings at Paradise Gardens Apartment Homes
I've been here since 2021, this place has only gotten worst, there's issues EVERYday or every week. When I moved in I didn't like the building but at least there was a pool, basketball court, tennis court, and assigned parking, and a gym. They have taken that all away. NO pool, no gym, (everything is under construction and they closed everything down and they gym keeps getting vandalized..? The parking is a first come and if u get home late there's absolutely no parking left. This building is priced as if its a nice modern updated condo style apt. but its so old no new appliance, and nothing is remodeled since the 80s. they keep turning off the water due to construction everyday. I'm moving out as soon as I can 2025.

The management here is absolutely terrible and even when you pay the $1,000 security deposit they charge a cleaning fee. You can clean all you want and make it look spotless but they continue to take away your money. This is coming from someone who moved a few months ago and got $700 back. Worst place I’ve ever lived at. They don’t care about your safety. I would give this a place 0 stars if I could.

I have only been living here since the beginning of the year and I’m already moving due to poor management and other issues. My roommates tire was stolen in the parking garage and since construction is being done the cameras were off and the thief was never caught. Roaches throughout the hallways and apartment itself even after an exterminator came. Not only that but downstairs neighbors continue to bang on our floor (since we’re on the 3rd floor) and yell for us “being too loud.” Note this is happening around 2-3 PM in the afternoon… not even late at night. Because of construction the parking lot we pay money for is occupied by the construction equipment which is ridiculous. Would never recommend this apartment building to anyone. Save your money and time and look somewhere else.

I've been living here for over 2 years now and the experience I've had living at Paradise Garden has been great!! To start off, the front office staff specially Nary has been amazing. The apartment and common areas are always kept clean and well maintained. The maintenance people are awesome and hard working. They take care of work orders within 24hrs. I love this place and I definitely made the right choice moving here.

Just moved in, so far its good, nice, clean, parking is great. Moving in was pretty easy, I was helped by Nary, she was very nice and helpful gave me keys to do the solo tour and then got me moved in pretty fast.Everyone I've passed coming and going has been nice, i believe im on the South end and its been quite maybe a little noise but nothing crazy. The apartments due have a smell which is weird but im not living in the hallway so it doesn't bother me. No signs of roaches which is good. Maintenance was very helpful on how to move in easily.

Been a resident of Paradise garden for a good 5 months. I can honestly say that this is my favorite apt in Long Beach. The rent is a pretty good deal considering all the amenities. The cleaning staff is also on point in keeping the apartment complex nice and tidy. I appreciate the manager Andrew for reimbursing us our money when the laundry sometimes eats our coins. We also have on site security, which is another bonus. I also love how we can get our amazon packages delivered to the office and the office staff is wonderful in organizing a secured system to receive our billion packages. Don’t let the bad review scare you because we personally don’t have any problem with roaches because we always throw out our trash every night and never leave food out. Lucky for us, our neighbors are nice and quiet. No complaints so far on noise. (The walls are pretty thick) Also, I have to give Nary Teap a big shout out because she made the moving transition so effortlessly. As soon as their was an available room for rent, she was so kind to reach out to us and assist with the moving process. She was able to grant our wishes for the 3rd floor and a beautiful view of the courtyard. We scored on the best room because of the big trees giving us a nice view and privacy. The process was so smooth she was able to move us in within a week! We also appreciate her friendly service. Honestly felt like we were friends instead of another tenant. From the beginning, this place already felt like home. And we are planning to stay here for years! Grateful for all the services of paradise garden.

It’s a good place to live, the staff is always helpful and friendly. Nary in particular, always take her time to help as much as she can and always has an upbeat attitude.

It’s not as nice as it appears in these photos. The upkeep isn’t so great. None of the amenities are as wonderful as they sound/appear here. Never seen roaches in my building, but ants are a serious problem. The halls reek of marijuana. Very basic. Overpriced! Nice, quiet community though.

Moved here in 2018 and overall I had a decent experience living here. Not noisy, everyone keeps to themselves for the most part, it's gated, and you get your own parking spot. However the biggest upset about this place were the roaches, and not just small ones but HUGE ones as well. I'm a clean person and always keep my place clean but you will 100% still get roaches in your place. I legit cleaned my studio 3-4 times a week, never kept any open food out, and I still occasionally got a roach here and there. If the roaches ain't paying rent they got to go.

Hi, we would like to speak with you further regarding your experience. Please reach out to our leasing office at your earliest convenience. Thank you!
I moved in this past weekend into paradise gardens. As I did the inspection with the staff we noticed a lot of things that needed maintenance (I.e broken hinges, missing pieces in the bathroom) and there were cockroaches and spiders. They created a work order for the cockroaches and the guy came and sprayed down the apartment on Monday. It is Wednesday and we still see on average about 10-20 cockroaches daily. They are now in our brand new furniture that we purchased. I have yet to fully move my things in because of the living conditions. I expressed to the staff on Tuesday about this issue and they stated the cannot move is into a new apartment and the only choice we have is to move out and lose our deposit. I also requested to have mirror doors for my closet and that request was denied. This is very disappointing because this is not a move in ready unit. We like the apartment staff and the location but the actual apartment is why I’m rating it at a 1. I don’t feel as though this is livable conditions and with all these issues that are arising, I feel like there could be more to make our experience a better one.

I moved here in spring of 2017. Cute studio! The VERY first night, I woke up to get some water, and was met with 5 roaches in the kitchen, including some scurrying across the kitchen floor. For the first week, I saw roaches EVERY SINGLE NIGHT, and even in the daytime! This was war! I used boric acid in every crevice of my apartment, and saw less and less roaches. They were even in the refrigerator and freezer!!! At least I only had the smaller ones, but they would crawl out from the floor boards in the kitchen (I literally saw this happen multiple times). You will see roaches on the walls in the hallways. It's disgusting. The foliage and plant life at the complex is beautiful, but attracts bugs. I also had tiny spiders EVERYWHERE, and ants in the bathroom. Other than the bugs, Paradise Gardens was an ok place to live, and I really enjoyed my studio. It got to the point that in the Summer (because I was late in re-treating my apt with boric acid), I had baby roaches on my BED. My BED! One night, I was eating a sandwich, I stepped away for a few moments, and when I came back, a baby roach was on my sandwich. GROSS! I am so happy I moved!
Clogged pipes, ants in the walls, ignored service requests. Don't bother ther cleaning before move out either they will still charge you the cleaning fee. I'm borderline OCD and cleaned nonstop, I even had mint plants to try and keep the ants at bay. The halls smell likecat food and marajuana on a good day. On the tour the staff got lost so, say good by to door deliveries. And, hello to horrible morning exits to work. I stayed here out of a commute necessity and put up with a lot. In the end they are after aquiver pay out. Numerous request were put in for pest control and at first it was handled, 6 months in everything was ignored even down to the sink backing up during the exit inspection that was done a month ahead. They saw it themselves and still I had to go out and find a way to fix it. There is a reason there is such a high turnover and consistent openings. Keep that in mind. Oh and the gym... Nothing works both treadmills and the televisions. That was brought up too. Again, ignored.

Location may be convenient, but that's it. Ant infestation, unfriendly staff/manager, bad neighborhood, overpriced, gym equipment don't work, etc., etc..
At first sight, Paradise Garden Apartments may seem nice and clean, but when you live here, the dark side reveals itself to you! The floor everywhere, literally, is full of ants, and the management simply does nothing about it. If you call them, they will bring couple of ant baits for you that doesn't change the situation. I use ant killer sprays all over my apartment very regularly and in considerable amounts, -my pet fish died from the poison in the air one of the times that I sprayed the whole apartment, closed the windows for increase the effect, and went out, but when I came back, the ants where still roaming in the apartment. Kitchen appliances also are very old and work very ineffectively. Dishwasher is practically useless, the fridge door tends to open, and the garbage disposal device fails regularly. Don't get fooled by the first impression!
I think this is a great apartment community for everyone. The location is very close to 91 and 710 freeway, and metro train station. Target, Trader Jose, Lakewood Shopping mall, etc are about 10 mins drive. There are underground two-level parking, tennis courts, swimming pool, spa, etc inside the building, and they are always nice, clean, and well maintained. Staff response real fast and friendly.
decent quiet area, bit of transient people hanging out at the close liquor stores. unfortunatly I had a bad experience with my car being stolen right out of my parking lot TWICE!! so now I am looking to move...
This place is affordable for a good size. And has parking, but they only give you one space per unit and theres a roach problem.
I just moved to CA and found the place. The Garage for parking is great where don't have to park on the street and you feel secure with the security guards being around. The Office team are great people and very helpful. The Apartment room has a good layout. The pool looks great and well kept. The prices are compared to others around it are fair. I would recommend as good starting place.
But the ant infestation, leaking drains and faucets, smell of the hallways and the mediocre parking really make me question my choice to live here.
I agree with the previous review. On a recent Saturday, I went to the office at 9am to report a work order for roaches. Since I just moved in, I know that this was a issue on the fault of the company. I got there at 9am when I though the office was open but nobody was there. After waiting 15 min still the office was not open. I called the office later that day and the person who picked up the phone was so rude that i just came down to report it. I just moved here and though the office was more professional but they had the hip hop music on full blast and the office was talking vaugley and acting very unprofessionally. If I wanted to hear about humping and hearing laungae like that, I would go to a strip club. After they finally notice I was there, the acting went on and they tried to act professional but it was too late. I hope they fix the issue with my roaces and hire a more professional staff. I hard a rumor that Paradise is being brought out. I hope the new staff is more professional and shows up to work on time. I rent to see the reviews on yelp and if u look at the filter results you will see all the reviews. Very surprsing.
before my roommate and i moved in .. we SPECIFICALLY asked the staff if there were cockroaches, they said no. We paid rent for the full month of March 2013, but ended up not moving in till mid-March, first week we are here, we notice COCKROACHES! We called the main office and the managers office to try to fix the problems, nothing much was done. Within the last 2.5 months, we have had maintenance come in to fumigate the apartment 4 times and seal cracks once. Cockroaches are still present in kitchen area. At night, while you are in the building walking back to your apartment, there are cockroaches running around. Also, ANTS are everywhere! Not in our apartment, but all over the surfaces of the trashcans and on the main handrails to exit the lobby. Also, when you request to have something done or added to your apartment, you need to follow up with it, otherwise they will tell you "the order was never put it, we will put a new one in now." or give excuses to come in at later times. There is a gym here, I went a few times to use the treadmill .. they have 3 in the gym, but only ONE of the treadmills work. There are also 2 TV's in the gym but there are no channels for it .. what is the point? Good thing is there is no contract so I'm currently looking for a new place to move into.
