Property Ratings at Paramount at Cedar Lodge
When this place was called the Enclave at Cedar lodge (new name, same management), management overcharged me by $1,300 for moving out “early.” Even though I moved out on the day my lease ended. I never received any communication from management, even though they had my email and phone number to easily reach me. But instead, they sent my bill to a collections agency, which is the only way I found out about the charge. They refused to cooperate and were very nasty and unprofessional when I asked them why I was unfairly charged. If I could rate this place 0 stars I would, it’s not worth it to live here!
The Paramount at Cedar Lodge Apartments in Baton Rouge has undergone a significant positive transformation under its new management. As a resident for the past 2 years while attending law school, I can attest that the community has improved tremendously. The new community manager is truly exceptional. She knows all the residents by name and is very hands-on, addressing the needs of the community. The entire support staff is friendly and genuinely care about the residents' satisfaction. When maintenance issues arise, they are completed efficiently and exceed expectations. This is a notable improvement from past reviews, which had not been as favorable. Under the new management's focus on quality services, The Paramount at Cedar Lodge Apartments now deserves the title of a "luxury apartment" community. The property is quiet, clean, and the staff's customer-centric approach is commendable. I would highly recommend this apartment community to anyone looking to live in Baton Rouge. The positive changes implemented by the new management team have created a welcoming and well-maintained living environment. Overall, the Paramount at Cedar Lodge Apartments is an excellent choice.
Paramount at Cedar Lodge Apartments truly lives up to its name as a premier living community. From the well-maintained grounds to the modern amenities, this complex offers a top-notch living experience. The apartments are spacious, beautifully designed, and the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive to residents' needs. The location is convenient, with easy access to shopping, dining, and entertainment options. I've been thoroughly impressed with the professionalism and responsiveness of the management team. Any maintenance requests are addressed promptly, and the overall atmosphere of the community is both welcoming and peaceful. If you're looking for a place to call home that combines comfort, convenience, and quality living, I highly recommend Paramount at Cedar Lodge Apartments. It's truly a gem in the area!
Moved in December 2019 with great excitement as anyone would be since it was my first accommodation in the U.S. Was greeted really well upon signing up and moved in hassle free. As they say Four days' of good times (moonlit nights), and then ensues bad times (darkness). The apartment was handed over dirty patio had spider webs, pests, laundry area was full of dirt and dust and kitchen cooktop had garbage behind it. Security Deposit and Other Costs: My refundable security deposit $150 was not refunded, They have a mandatory carpet cleaning fee $75 in the lease which they would adjust and rest $75 will be settled against mysterious charges and fees Maintenance: Poor- non responsive, need multiple follow-ups. Pool closed for more than a year, dog poop dustbins broken, house flies, spiders, webs Lease Transfers: They charge $400 transfer fee, new non-refundable pet fee, Don't even try this option they will confuse and trouble you to core and won't let you move in a different apartment with peace PEST CONTROL: As per the lease there was a scheduled pest control for every building but in my entire stay of 1.5 years it was done twice or at max thrice that too upon multiple requests from my end. There were spiders in the hallway, webs, filth, dirt and houseflies. Packages and Mails: The leasing office would not return your parcels after moving out if there is a delay in address forwarding or accidently if any of your parcels get delivered to the old address. Summary: Overall stay was ok, but management is bad and not at all supportive. Would not recommend this apartment to anyone who needs a clean and maintained space. Rentals are very high too.
I’ve lived here for two years and every encounter with the ladies at Enclave was amazing. Ms. Deb, she made us love her before even moving in! She helped us so much and made us feel at ease with any question we ever had. Then, my favorite out them all was Bre! Bre is just amazing at everything she does and was so down to earth. Cortana(I’m so sorry because I know I’m misspelling your name, is so laid back, but she WORKS HARD and is just as nice as Bre. Randy, who’s in maintenance, will help you with any problem you may have promptly. To be honest, we really didn’t have any maintenance issues—except when our sink had a leak; even though it was a Sunday, they sent someone out since it was an emergency. They had one shady maintenance guy, but he no longer works there, so there’s no need for me to mention the incident or his name. Now, I will say this, the parking is just atrocious! You will never have a great spot because for some reason everyone is piled in building 8 like sardines and I just tried to rack my head on that for two years. The parking situation was seriously annoying, especially on the weekends. If you think you was about to park in front your building then your faith is unmatched and you deserve all your blessings sis. We might actually move back next year to a two bedroom. We’re just hoping that the pricing can go down. The only reason we left because our rent kept going up and it didn’t make sense to pay that much for 697 square feet. We will gladly be keeping our eyes on the unit prices so we can return to our favorite place.

Hello, thank you for your kind words and this wonderful review! It gives us great pleasure to read about your experience with us! We are committed to providing the best in facilities and service so thank you again for this feedback!
I have had this review written for months just waiting to get out and get our security deposit. I wasn't going to bother posting it if we got our security deposit back because at least they would have made it right. But now, not only do we not get our deposit back, we owe them $160 because of “pet damage” to the "new carpet"when you pay a pet fee AND security deposit. I will be honest and say that I really enjoyed my first six months of living at the Enclave. They were timely, responsive and kind Raeanna was great! However as soon as we hit that six month mark, that is when everything started happening. Slow response times, mandatory construction, and RUDE management. The property manager, however, was great and she helped me as much as she could with the transition to my new apartment. But, They did not cash my rent check until a week after i gave it to them and it was NSF. A MONTH LATER I come home to an eviction notice with 5 days to get out. NEVER have I had an incident with credit or NSF. We had to pay a $50 fee and DOUBLE rent that month because they didn’t cash the check. But that is just the tip of the Ice burg. My husband noticed a black spot In our corner of our bedroom. My husband decided to get up to the ceiling with a napkin and see what it was. It was like coffee grinds. I called mgmt they came 2 days later and said that they would get pest control out because they thought it was some kind of bug. 4 DAYS LATER pest control comes and I call the mgmt office to find out what kind of bug it is. “I’m sorry that is something that they tell the property manager, I’m not sure.” Excuse me?! WHAT IS LIVING IN MY ROOM? What ever it was, it chewed a hole straight through the wall to outside. We now know what kind of bug it was. Ew. THEN we come home to boarded up windows! Fully boarded with NO NOTICE. Banging on the walls when my husband is working nights and can’t sleep during the day because of the construction for the duration of the final months of our lease. I am beyond glad that we only signed a one year's lease and we got out as soon as we could. Management needs to get it together. Save yourself the trouble and spend a little more and go to Bristol Place! Loving it there! PS. Management: I know you are going to come under my review, comment, and try to defend yourself. That's fine, I respect that. I am bringing you your money. I will not put up a fight but I will share my inconvenience and my experience at the "luxurious" Enclave at Cedar Lodge.

Thank you for your review!! We like to know that our residents of both past and present are happy! Just wanted to let you know we that we appreciate the 5 star rating and review. Thanks again. Yours Truly, The Enclave at Cedar Lodge
I have very little complaints about The Enclave, it's located in a very safe part of town, and it's great for just about anyone: young professionals, families and anyone, really. While the prices might be a tad high -- around 1K for a one bedroom, the location (and grounds) makes up for it. You're technically "in" Townecenter, and a 15 second drive from Starbucks, PF Changs, Wholefoods and much more. Not to mention mere minutes away from Citiplace, Mall of LA, Walmart, downtown --and so forth. A lot of places in Baton Rouge are in crime-ridden areas, or in high college-student locations This is a great place to escape the college crowd, and get away from any shady places that you don't feel safe. The grounds are beautiful and extremely well kept. You're next to a horse farm which makes for beautiful balcony views, and both pools are immaculate. The parking garage makes moving in and parking very easy. The staff is also very friendly, accommodating and it's just an overall relaxed community. The main complaints I hear from others is that the walls are thin -- but personally, I've never heard or been bothered by neighbors. I'm also lucky to live on the top floor, which has beautiful 12 foot ceilings. Another complaint I hear is that the gym is a bit "subpar" for a luxury complex. I do agree! The gym is obviously a converted office space of some sort, but they recently added more machines, and to be honest, I rarely encounter others in there. So it gets the job done! Check this place out! It's in an ideal location!
I lived at the Enclave at Cedar Lodge for 2 years. I not once paid my rent late; I was quiet; I kept the apartment in the best shape it could be, despite everything being made of absolute garbage; and I paid the absurdly high (for BR) rent. Not only was it not worth the money, as everything in it was just thrown together with the cheapest materials, but Maintenance wouldn't even fix things. In a section of my apartment, the electrical did not work. I asked them to fix it, and they did not. There was a point when I had black mold, too. Upon leaving, they charged me over $600 in damages, which was outright insane. I will NEVER in my LIFE recommend this place to ANYONE.

Molly, We appreciate you taking the time out to write about your experience at our Property and we are happy that you chose the Enclave. We hope that just by the simple fact that you’ve resided with us for two years that there had to have been some good during your stay. Our rent is priced competitively within the market of other comparable properties. We encourage all prospective residents to shop around and choose the community that meets his/her needs. In regards to your complaints, we reviewed your work order history and all work orders that were called in by you were assessed and completed. If the problem recurs, it is the resident’s responsibility to notify the office so that we can get the issue resolved. We take pride in the efforts of our maintenance staff because we want our residents to have the most enjoyable experience possible. You were notified in advance that during a property inspection management noticed damages to your blinds that was caused by your cat. You were informed that you would be charged once you vacated. When you moved out, your apartment was walked by a member of our staff and pictures were taken of all of the damages throughout your apartment. Not only did your cat damage the blinds, the carpet was also shredded and ripped up in more than one area so you were charged accordingly. As always, before applying the charges we referred back to your move-in inspection to make sure we were not holding you responsible for previous damages. While we understand your frustration, we expect all residents to leave the apartment in the same condition that it was received in and unfortunately that did not happen. Thank you again Molly for the review and for choosing the Enclave at Cedar Lodge.
I lived here 2 1/2 years and it is an absolutely great place to live. Quiet, nice amenities, etc. Upon moving out I received an letter that I owed 300 above the original deposit because of damage to the apartment. Saying blinds needed replacement (which I never used), glass stove top needed replacement which was seldomly used. When trying to contact the manager I left messages and they were never returned. This soured me completely from The Enclave and can't recommend staying there to anyone unless they are prepared to get the shaft when moving out.
Property Manager at Paramount at Cedar Lodge, Responded To This Review
We would like to thank you for taking the time out to write a review about your experience at our property. We are happy to hear that your stay here was pleasant and that you enjoyed all that our property has to offer. We regret to hear that due to the move-out disposition that you received based on the condition that you left the apartment, your view of the Enclave has been tainted. At the time of move-in when a new residents takes possession of the apartment, we give them the opportunity to document all defects or damages of the apartment on the move-in inspection form. We believe that our system is fair and is designed to not only protect the owners but the resident as well. We use this form to determine what should and should not be considered your responsibility at the time of move-out. Not only did we refer back to your move-in inspection form but we also reviewed the unit work order history. We can assure you that this routine is practiced for all move-outs and if there is ever a mistake or oversight on our end we would happily make corrections. Again, we appreciate the review and we thank you for your time spent here at the Enclave at Cedar Lodge.
I have lived at The Enclave since it opened, about 5 or 6 years ago, and I love it! I have lived in lots of other apartments, and The Enclave is the best! I would not live anywhere else. The location is perfect, and the staff, including maintenance, is amazing! Everything is kept up beautifully; when I look out my 3rd floor window, it's like looking over a luxury resort. The noise level is fine. Sure I occasionally hear very faint sounds from next door, but nothing loud. And never at night! I have lived in houses where I heard more noise from my neighbors. I think the office staff probably screens applicants pretty well. I can’t say enough about all the professional and helpful office staff! They are all great. In fact, at the end of last year, I considered moving to another apartment complex, just to be closer to my family (not to leave the Enclave!#. But that complex made a mess of my application, and, when I was about to move in, told me I could not move in when planned. That was the evening before I was supposed to move. So I rushed down to The Enclave office, to see if I could stay in my old apartment. Somehow I knew the Enclave staff would fix everything, and they did! It was 5:30 p.m. and I didn’t realize they were closing. But Terri and Beau, who were still there, closing up, insisted I stay there and let them help me! They made me feel as if all they wanted to do was help me. And they did help me! You don’t know how much that meant to me! Thank you! My old apartment had already been leased #it’s a great apartment, so I was not surprised#, but Terri and Beau went through all the records for something comparable I could move into the next day. That was when I needed to start moving. They had to search hard, since The Enclave is so popular, but they found a comparable apartment for me that I could immediately lease. It was only available because the person who was going to lease it had changed his mind at the last minute! Lucky me! It’s even on the third floor, and with as great a view as I had before! Beau even took me over to look at the apartment that evening, to make sure I would be comfortable with it! And Terri waited to see if I wanted it so she could reserve it for me. Of course I wanted it and am now happily moved in! All I can say is I love the Enclave and will only move when I decide to buy a house or move away. Thank you to the amazing Enclave staff #because they are all great!). You really do take care of your residents!!
After three years of paying rent on time, I have three months left on my lease. I cannot wait to move. They have blown through management and personnel, and it shows. Apparently, there is no longer a screening process. They know the walls are paper thin, but they still let people act like they are running disco halls in their apartments. Welcome to The Dump. I think they should change their name to The Dump on Gardere, previously known as The Enclave.
Property Manager at Paramount at Cedar Lodge, Responded To This Review
Thank you for taking the time out to write a review about our property. Our screening policy as well as Management Company have been the same since the property opened in 2008. Like all companies there will be staff changes when necessary and at times these changes are essential to ensure the right team is in place to meet the needs of the residents. You should be aware that every individual who applies is screened under the same criteria. We truly regret to hear your unpleasant experience with excessive noise but you must know that Enclave does not “let” residents knowingly disturb others without consequence. When reported to the office we take the necessary steps to try and rectify the issue. Our goal has always been to keep our current residents happy and our prospective residents excited. We sincerely apologize that your experience was not up to standards. Positive feedback from our residents has proven that our staff’s hard-work, love and dedication to Enclave shows throughout our community. Being compared to a “dump” is not easy to accept but we will appreciatively use the criticism to work harder and be better. Thank you again for the review and for taking time to read this response.
