A charming neighborhood between Lake Michigan and the Milwaukee River, Murray Hill sits in northeastern Milwaukee next to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and houses many of the university’s students. Murray Hill has the advantage of being just blocks away from Lake Michigan and two miles north of Downtown Milwaukee. Long-term residents enjoy lakeside access as much as the neighborhood’s students value being within walking distance to their school.
Locals enjoy the abundant green space surrounding the neighborhood near the river like Riverside Park and Gordon Park or the lake’s sandy shore at Bradford Beach. For more even more outdoor recreation, check out Lake Park for its golf course, athletic fields, nature trails, and more. Apartments in Murray Hill range from affordable to upscale, so it’s appealing to students, families, and professionals who intend to commute into the city for work. Restaurants, cafes, and breweries sit just south of town nearing the city.

Property Ratings at Park at 1824 Student Apartments
Worst management on the face of the earth. double booked parking spots, and they will always try to screw you out of money. They towed me while I was in my own parking spot and I had to threaten them with a lawsuit to get them to reimburse me. Do yourself a favor and do not rent here
Rude staff, terrible management, parking is double booked. Not a good place to thrive
I honestly don’t know many things this property has done correctly. Right from the beginning, if you decide to stay here please keep records of everything ever said or sent to you - since they deal with a large amount of college students they will attempt to take advantage of you if you are not careful! They attempted to overcharge my security deposit and first months rent. Front desk management (By the way, only one person works the front desk.) would not hear me out until the first mention of a screenshotted contract that was sent to me before moving in. Immediately got fixed right after that. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt until, as time went on, things kept piling on. Unanswered maintenance requests. Broken furniture and appliances. There has been absolutely ZERO security in the building for months (Anyone can walk in at ANY time) because the front doors don’t lock! Nothing but excuses from management. Renters beware!

Here at the Park, we are always looking for ways to improve; we appreciate your input. If you would be willing, we would like to have you contact our manager to discuss ways we can better serve you in the future. We hope you have a nice day!
My toilet has flooded my entire bathroom twice now. It takes 3 flushes to completely flush everything (even if it is literally just pee...) They advertise amazing internet, but when every unit had their own internet, my apartment’s went out every three hours. Now with the new WiFi thanks to new management, it takes a little over a minute just to load a page. It has taken almost 10 minutes to load google maps satellite without being blurry just now. Ever since the management has changed, everything has gotten worse. With the old management, if you locked yourself out of your room, you paid $25 and we’re immediately let in by the maintenance man (at all hours). After a week of the new management, I left my keys in my room (which can lock behind you without you personally locking it with a key). I had to wait 3 hours for a third party company to come open my door and I had to pay $60 to be let in. Overall, for the price paid, this is the worst quality apartment possible. 100% do NOT reccomend.
When we moved in we had to clean the entire apartment because it wasn't done well before hand. The dishwasher and sink also had issues so we had to call maintenance to get them fixed. After the dishwasher was fixed, it still didn't work very well. The sink drains painfully slow as well. About a week or so moving in we couldn't handle the speed of the wifi (they advertise it as the fastest in Milwaukee), we ended up having the router replaced and still have problems. I also had a problem with the curtain rod in my shower and it took 3 days to fix so I had to use my roommates shower in the meantime. The rooms do come with furniture and appliances which is nice but, people that have lived there before obviously had pets because the sofa and chair are destroyed from cat scratches. It's very unappealing to the eye. A tv is also included in rent although you don't get many channels so you can't really use it. The open takes about 40 minutes to heat up, sometimes more denoting on what temperature you want it at. Parking is about $100 a month, it is underground and heated. There's a long line for spots so don't count on having one when you move in. I requested the I be put on the list when I first showed interest in February of 2017, and somehow wasn't on the list when I moved in. I ended up paying for street parking and two weeks later was given a spot, after constantly asking about it. I also had an issue about even getting an apartment and was told they were "running out" of available units, when I expressed interest months prior and was waiting for them to send me forms. If you do end up living here I suggest doing the later lease, because you end up paying an extra $60 a month if you move out early, so get your moneys worth. You also end up paying an entire month extra in rent because the payments are considered "installments". The dates match up perfectly for a 10 month lease and you pay 11 installments. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to campus (Cramer and Kenwood) and then 5-15 more depending on where your class is. Overall, I had a very difficult time justifying the price especially as I am a student and this complex is supposed to be geared towards college students. I am able to afford rent as well as my parking spot, I don't look forward to shelling out rent each month though because I thought they might be more affordable. The staff is friendly as well.
Hey not sure why the last review was so negitive sounds like you just wanted to break your lease after you found something cheaper or realized you couldn't afford it ! The park at 1824 is great. We moved in the other day which we thought was a two bedroom for few months until our three bedroom lease will start in the Fall. When we arrived we where put in a different apartment. We went and talked with Eric the manager about the mix up and he immediately and professionally within minutes moved us to a two bedroom without hesitation. Eric was absolutely amazing. They had the apartment ready for us and also a brand new dishwasher arriving in a few days. We called maintence for a few things that needed to be replaced or fixed and within one hour it was completed the same day. The place is very nice with great modern furniture. Ananda was extremely helpful before we signed the lease and after. She is right on top of helping you with whatever you need. She does her job well! The secure building and garage is great also. Love the coffee and popcorn not to mention all the fun things they do through out the year for there residents. Come live here it's worth it !!!
Long story short, you pay too much for what you get. Sure, there's a laundry facility--where the machines are broken half the time. Sure, there's a "gated outdoor space"--that's literally so gated you have to go get the key and permission from the front desk to use it, during operating business hours only. Maintenance is slow or non-existent. Internet randomly gets incredibly slow or goes out altogether. The worst part is, you can get a similar one bedroom apartment in the same area with the same amenities for the same price or less (much less!) without sharing your apartment with two other roommates. Don't even move in here temporarily while you look for another place, because short of a natural disaster there's no way to break your lease without paying the remainder out your nose.
