Property Ratings at Park at Cedar Lawn
Terrible property management, stay away. They lured me in with a move in bonus which was specified in my lease, then they made me pay it back. They kept me waiting 8 months for a mailbox and they charge me for gas even though I have no gas appliances. Ive caught both maintenance and the property manager enter (or attempt to enter), without my permission and without notification. The deadbolt broke one time, and when I put in a maintenance request, they took it out without replacing it and never came back to finish the job. Had to pay my own money to fix their incompetence. The railing broke when I was going up the stairs, still nobody came to fix. They also refuse to fix my window that leaks whenever it rains, and they refuse to fix the garbage disposal. They made me take down my curtain on the balcony that was up for over a year for no reason. When my neighbor got bed bugs, they refuse to treat my apartment to prevent us from getting them. The water is disgusting and the boiler is constantly down for repairs. At this point, I would rather be homeless. Oh, and you can expect them to raise the rent on you every chance they get.

This place is awful. Our AC hasn’t worked right for 2 years but they refuse to fix it. Maintenance requests get marked as completed but never actually done. Cars are constantly getting broken into. Water is regularly shut off with no warning. The office staff will give every excuse in the book to protect the cheap and shady leasing company they work for. Avoid at all costs.
I was skeptical about this place but they allowed a virtual tour before I moved in, as I could not come see it in person. I have currently been leaving here for 11 months and have enjoyed most of it. The maintenance guys are good and help out as much as they can. Apartment was clean when we moved in and routine pest control when needed. Only complaints are peoples dogs leave poop on the grass by my side. Parking is inconsistent especially at night about availability to park. Over all a good apartment and good safe place to live.
This place is not somewhere you would want to live. They have water issues every single week! It's either the hot water is out or "construction" causes the water to shut off completely for days at a time. Do yourself a favor and look to other places in Galveston. They are also very slow to answering maintenance requests! Avoid, Avoid, Avoid!
The apartments has a central boiler for hot water that goes off often, and takes around a week to get fixed. This happened two or three times within a year. We did not have hot water on Christmas week last December. Imagine in Christmas holidays and in cold winter, you don’t even have a hot water to shower.
I would give this place a negative review if I could. Lived here for 2 1/2 years. Rain caused mold to grow on my walls and for the last 5-6 months, they never did anything about it. Took them many weeks to respond to maintenance requests, and there was just so many confusions within the last few months of living there. ROCO Management took over and they were a mess. When I moved out, they literally charged me for every single thing they could think of. I left three empty trash bags because i wanted to make sure i collected all the trash before i left, and they charged me $50 for that, etc. Then, the day I turned in my keys, no one collected move out information from me and they threatened to turn over my charges to collection agency almost 2 months after me moving. They never once notified me by phone or email until they threatened me with that. Terrible management. As long as ROCO is taking over, do not move in. No amount of rent is worth the stress. I moved out of state and suggest not living there.
The Park at Cedar Lawn is the perfect apartment complex in Galveston if you're looking to live somewhere quiet and unique. Remodeled from an old military hospital, the old building has amazingly large and beautiful floor plans while the new buildings are very spacious and really feel like home. I've lived at The Park at Cedar Lawn going on three years and am very happy my husband I made the choice to live here when we moved to the island. We would definitely make the same choice again.
I have been living here a few months now and never had a complain about anything. The community is quiet, and great. There's quiet time and people respect it. Definitely recommend this to everyone and anyone looking for a new place.
