The name State College represents the city quite well. This suburb is home to the main campus of Penn State University, a prestigious university with a park-like atmosphere and historic architecture like Old Main, an expansive landmark campus administrative building dating back to 1930. State College is the ideal city for students, faculty, and staff of the university, as well as professionals and families. This suburb is home to an array of kid-friendly parks like Holmes-Foster Park, Orchard Park, and the Arboretum at Penn State. State College features abundant restaurants and bars off of East College Avenue in Downtown State College. Apartments, houses, condos, and townhomes range from affordable to upscale.

Property Ratings at Park Crest Terrace
AC stopped working in the middle of Aug. Hasn't been fixed in the past 12 days. Office staff promised to call back but never did. Great service.
I love how clean and spacious my apartment is! Other than the leaky sink, it is the best apartment I have ever lived in
APRTMENT - Park Crest Terrace has very convenience location that all my needs are most in the walk distance. Also it is possible to walk to the university or ride a bike while state college has a nice weather, however, bus stops are just front of us and have multiple lines that I can take. ROOM - I have a walk-in closet and own bathroom(big one) just in my master-bedroom, so I can separate my social area and my private life. Additional a balcony with a storage room is great for living. Staff(The Most Important) - The greatest staffs I have ever seen. They are so friendly and helpful, that I have always smiled to walk in the office and laughed out from there. Every time when I reported something, they responded immediately. The maintenance staffs solved problem always properly and quickly. In addition, they take care not only about my apartment problem, but also any issues that I may face for my daily life. For example, if I need to fax some paperwork that I really don't have time to go out. They took it. If I need to get some ideas of my insurance term. They took it! Could you find these staffs anywhere else? It's the most important reason that I won't leave here until I need to move out from State College. Moreover, the office staffs are trying all the time to improve our residences' living condition. For example, recently they released the TV room in the residence club house. You can book it for party, football night, or even a 3D movie night :) Awesome! I just want to say that if you try to find an apartment in State College, you have to come to see Park Crest Terrace.
All the staff members are very nice and helpful. When I have a question or maintenance request I couldn't be more pleased with the results. Also, more importantly, I love my apartment!! I really have the best looking and best sized rooms of all my friends. My walk-in closet and big bathroom is a luxury and I don't feel like I am paying crazy amounts of money for it. I like my quiet community and I could not imagine living anywhere else!
This is a great apartment for the price range. Probably the best. The location is not ideal if you are a student; it is 1.5 miles from the close side of campus. However, it is worth the slight inconvenience, as its location to gas, groceries, and parks is superb. Tudek Park is just off the backside of the complex, Giant and Weiss are just across the street; Walmart, Trader Joes, and Wegmans are just a short drive. Furthermore, the shopping areas on Collonade as well as the restaurants are but 5 minutes away as well. The office staff is always friendly and helpful and are knowledgeable about the guidelines for the complex. Though the maintenance staff is somewhat unprofessional, they are prompt and effective. They have fixed a few minor problems that do arise quickly and effectively. The noise level has not been a problem. The complex is not dominated by college students like myself and it is always quiet. Lastly, the amenities are what are expected for the price range. While I was lucky to get a newly refurbished apartment, the dishwashers may be slightly older as in my friends apartment. There is the option for a washer and dryer in the apartments, but I brought my own. There is also recycling and garbage service. The only problem is that the garbage may start to overflow at times. However, it is normally all taken. They do have a pool and it is quite nice, as is the common room in the main office. It is easier to overlook the small problems as I am not paying an exorbitant amount in rent. Over all this apartment is the best bang for the buck
Property Manager at Park Crest Terrace, Responded To This Review
Our community is conveniently located to retail stores and recreation and the bus stops couldn't be more convenient. We take all comments to heart and will be instituting a "Be More Professional" program within our maintenance staff. Though, we are thankful to them for completing their workorder requests quickly and effectively. A technician from our maintenance staff compacts trash at least once daily even on their days off but we will take a look at that process to try to make our community all the more pleasing. Thank you for the honest review.
I moved here in August 2013 and plan on renewing my lease in the future. I used to own my own home and am very particular about the quality of the places that I live. Overall, I definitely recommend living here and have told friends to come live here too. Leslie, in the office, is amazing. Throughout the process of working with her in the application process to just stopping by to grab a battery, she has been phenomenal. Since I am going through a divorce, it was challenging to get all of my paperwork in order, but she was super patient and helpful. Every time that I request maintenance, they are here promptly and take care of the issue immediately. I also appreciate that they are super friendly and seem to want to go the extra bit to take care of my home. In addition, they are great about lawn care and keeping the grounds clean. Coming from a 3bdrm home to the largest 3bdrm apt, I was still concerned about space and feeling cramped. This is not the case at all. I think a lot of it has to do with the size of the place of course, but also the large windows in each room keep it bright and airy. I also could not live without the outdoor balcony. In warm temps, I like to sit out there and watch the gardeners and park walkers in Tudek Park. The appliances are all in great shape, and I chose to bring my washer/dryer, which was a good option for me. Storage is plentiful for my needs. Parking is also easy - there is never a problem getting a spot near my breezeway. Besides the location right by Tudek and near the dog park, I like that I am so close to campus. There is a bus route that goes right by the complex. Also, there are 2 groceries stores within walking distance among other shops like Subway, Pizza, and Chinese. If I could improve one aspect about my experience, it would be noise. Although not constant, when my one neighbor decides to throw down with music and/or friends, I feel like I am part of the party. Sometimes, my own soft music deadens the noise. However, it'd be great if I never heard them at all. Part of apartment living, I suppose.
I have live in Park Crest Terrace for many many years and our experiences have been wonderful, their is not a lot of noise at all and the very few times that I had any kind of a complaint it was taken care of immediately by manager and the office staff. The maintenance staff are very nice and are quick to fix whatever has broke and they make the grounds of Park Crest Terrace look wonderful, they are very nice and helpful. The pool is great in the summer time it's kept looking very nice and has definitely come in handy on those extremely hot over bearing days. The play ground area is wonderful for my nieces and some of my friends children that come to visit. I like that I am able to have pets in this apartment complex and that the office and maintenance make sure that pet owners are cleaning up after there animals. The emergency maintenance for after hours calls is great they have always responded very quickly whenever I have needed them. Over the past few years I have noticed that flowering trees have been planted they are beautiful every spring and when they bloom and continue to stay beautiful through out the summer, the lights that Park Crest Terrace has strung on the trees at the entrance have given the whole complex a very warm and cozy charm, the community room that residence are able to rent out has had some wonderful upgrades, a new television and theater chairs as well as a new table and chairs it has really made the community room look great. You guys at Park Crest Terrace decorate for the holidays and you make sure that it looks amazing for your residence and that really shows how much you care about your property and residence. There are always friendly smiling faces in the office, I don't think those girls in the office ever have a bad day, the manager is great, very nice to talk too, she always answers all of my questions and interacts with the residence on a daily basis. My family and I have truly enjoyed living at Park Crest Terrace and my guest that come to visit enjoy coming here as well. Thank you very much for having such a great place for me my family and others to live at.
There are many deceptive and hidden rules and regulations on paper and not on paper and only by words. Before I file an application, the manager denied writing the rules on paper, only told me the oral words are enough. But much of what she said is not on paper and never on their website. Manager says they will never put some rules on the paper, only by words. But if you violate their oral rules, they will punish you and vacate you and ask for much more violation fees. They allows only ONE person living in a bedroom. For me a couple, the manager says my wife and me only allow to live in a separate room. She said this is their oral rules. I ask her to write down this rule, the manager is very furious and refuse to write down her oral words, saying she will never do this, but words are enough. The manager doesn't allow sublease after signed the lease. But before you file an application, they will never tell you this information nor bedroom person limitation. After you signed the lease, if you sublease or more than ONE person living in a bedroom. They will vacate you by their written notice and ask for payment for all the rest rent until the contract expired date. Two of my friends, they sublease their three bedrooms and were vacated out and paid the whole year rent. But, before you signed the lease, there even no oral notice or paper written information about this. After you signed the lease, you are under their control and in their charge of whatever the manager likes or dislikes. They refuse writing down their strange rules or policy on paper when I want to file an application. Only telling me some information by their mouths. But I don't know how much information they hide from me and don't tell me their extra different policy. I don't want me to be in the dangerous situation under their personal word policy. I only want an apartment with all rules on paper, and I just legally follow the paper policy, not oral personal policy. So I refuse to file an application since they refuse writing their policy. I'm lucky because I asked them some information before filing the application and paying the charge $35 for filing an application. I already was told by many friends their nasty reputations. So I keep alert when I file an application and ask some information what I'm concerned. Their managers are very rude and their voices are very loud and attitude are very bad when I ask them some information. Don't put you in the dark hidden policy and risk your study life or work life there. They also have some hidden charges after moving in. The facility quality in their apartment is very bad, like small and bad quality refrigerator and bad quality floor carpet and bad quality electricity stove. Some of my friends live there, they are very frustrated about those bad quality facilities. Keep your eyes open, keep you away from dangerous hands or hidden policy you never know. Even if you inquire, they only tell you a little. You don't know how much they hide and never tell you. But if you violate, they will vacate you and ask you pay the full lease rent in reality.

Unfortunately, there is some misinformation in this posting. Park Crest does not have deceptive or hidden rules, all rules are in the lease. Park Crest limits one unrelated person to a bedroom due to size, however, married couples never have to have seperate bedrooms. Park Crest does not allow subleasing and that is in the lease. If you violate the lease, there are consequences of course. Justin123 says that he was lucky he asked questions and you should ask questions when applying for an apartment. It is not realistic to think that you will be told about every conceivable issue that may come up when applying but if it is important to you asking is the best policy. Park Crest Terrace tries to maintain good relationships with all their residents.
