Northern Hills is in northeastern San Antonio, roughly 13 miles from downtown and six miles from San Antonio International Airport. It includes the popular Northern Hills Golf Club, which is located along the southeast end of the neighborhood. The North Hills Golf Club began as a private club and it still retains some of that exclusiveness. This 18-hole golf course covers 130 acres and includes a putting green and a clubhouse.
Renting an apartment in Northern Hills allows you to live in a peaceful, family-friendly neighborhood just minutes from downtown. Several shopping areas are located just outside the neighborhood, especially along Nacogdoches Road. North Star Mall, just six miles outside of Northern Hills, offers stores like Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy's, Dillard's, and JC Penney. If you appreciate heavy metal, visit Zombies Bar and Music Venue, directly south of the neighborhood at the corner of Bulverde Road and Thousand Oaks.

Property Ratings at Park Greene Townhomes
This is a terrible place to live. We live in this property for one year and believe me do not even think about this apartment. Do not fooled by the golf cart taking you to tour the apartment. The management is none existent you would rather call 911 and police would show up even quicker. This property next to a gas station and construction site in a not so good area. You hear biker speeding, gun shots and coyote howling at night. The gate is a joke, everyone can enter from the office entrance gate. Did I mention there are numerous roaches crawling in the property? Yes, it is . As the inside of the apartment, I can not tell you more....
By far the WORST experience trying to rent a house. The move in was delayed one week, because "they wanted to make it perfect for us", the interesting thing is that they didn't even contacted us in any way to let us know the move in date changed. We were moving from outta state and decided not to rent the first place we saw because it was not a clean space. Joanna was adorable while showing us outside the unit, but once we payed the application and were approved she changed completely, every conversation was in an indifferent tone, as if our concerns were not important. We needed to move in ASAP, we have 2 kids and no home here in San Antonio. Because of the way she was treating us, we decided to look for another rental, we found another place with a very helpful lady, the place is simpler, and is an apartment, but the way we were treated was much better than with Park Greene townhomes. In Park Greene, they did not allow us to tour the house, because the "contractors were working there", so they wanted us to wait 7 more days completely in the dark about the interior of the house, my bet is that they were trying to hide problems. In the apartment, they allowed us to look and move early, they understood the needs of their clients. We called Joanna to ask one more time if we could take a look at the house, before I even finish telling her we were deciding if we would stay in this other place or wait for the townhome to be ready, she was ready to hang up the phone. My goodness, imagine living in a place where you need her help! What a nightmare. It's a shame because the place looks very pretty, we would love to say we had a nice experience renting a place there. Wasted application money, it just gave us headaches.
I have been living here for almost 5 years without any problems. The office and maintenance staff are very friendly and helpful, the grounds are kept nice. You also get 2 assigned parking spaces. Everything here is enjoyable. Highly recommended.
I’ve been living here since March, the problem that I have is that my AC has been breaking down for more than 2 weeks already, the only thing they come and do is put Freon in it and it’s good for 2-3 days and it’s back to not working. They have been doing this for the past month. And TODAY I went to the office at 10am to let them know that my AC wasn’t working AGAIN , and they wrote it down..and when I got home (5pm) I had to call cause they still hadn’t came to fix it. When I called they left me on hold for 15 min..forgot that I was on hold...the man shows up to “fix it” and just adds Freon AGAIN....but for sure they don’t miss an email to remind you to pay your rent lol ??UPDATE?? It’s been a couple weeks from when I wrote the top part...and guess what? Ac still not fixed...still putting Freon, was told that it needs a new unit but no moves are being done...called management and told them my light bill is going up (before all this happened I was paying $80-$90 now my light bill is $130-$170) for this exact reason, and all she told me was that she doesn’t know about AC...??
[ ] DO NOT LIVE HERE! The staff and management do not care about their tenants! In the middle of July our AC just couldn't keep up. It ran CONSISTENTLY for 3 weeks and NEVER hit the target temperature of 70. Upstairs it was 82 degrees most nights. It was miserable! The office and maintenance gave us the run around for 3 weeks. Maintenance came to the apartment 4 times. They were supposed to come 3 other times but never showed up. I ended up having to leave work early on 7 different occasions just for them finally to adjust something so that the AC would at least work a little bit better. It still is having to run almost all the time and the air flow is very weak. One of the maintenance guys even told us that we have one of the three oldest AC units left on the property but they don't want to do anything about it. We have a lot of experience with rental properties and AC units but the office was speaking to us like we were ignorant and trying to tell us that it was normal. Our electric bill tripled for July and August. I understand that electric bills are usually higher during the two hottest month of the summer but it is absolutely uncalled for for the electric bill to be $300 for a two-bedroom, 900 square-foot apartment. The lack of professionalism and consideration for us has left us not renewing our lease. This property likes to advertise that it is a higher quality of living because it's on the golf course but they absolutely do not live up to what they advertise or say!
Spacious townhomes, quiet and safe. Management friendly and work orders are done quickly.
I lived here 4 years ago and this was a very wise choice for me. Affordably priced for the location and is a hidden gem. Access to the complex is one the best for the price. Tenants either use a garage style vehicle clicker, access card and or phone code access. This is a big reason why the complex is very quiet with little to no random drive-throughs by non-residents. Parking is the only concern I had when I lived here but it was minor. Somewhat self-inflicted because I had two vehicles and you are assigned to spots. Neighbors did respect your parking and I always told visitors to respect my neighbors and the red painted curbs. My biggest issue was the older HVAC units struggled mightily in the blazing San Antonio summers. I 1/1.5 loft unit and my bedroom was smoldering at times despite the ceiling fan. I would come home to a frozen unit that had shut off and a puddle of water in my hallway between the kitchen and living room. If you need closets this is the complex for you! The previously mentioned floorplan has massive closets and one on the master bedroom balcony. The cabinets needed serious updating, probably has been fixed by now. Your next to a golf course and a large pond that has a footpath around it. No fitness center but that wasn't a big deal for me. The pool is decent sized with grills available.
Lived here for 3 years. Maintenance was great about everything. Misty, office manager, is horrible. The ground is not 100% gated. We lived in the area where it was open for anyone to just walk into the grounds. Twice I had to call the police because I feared for my safety. The second time a kid broke into my car during the night and stole my work keys, and then when we came home after going to the grocery store in my boyfriend's truck, he tried to use those keys to get into the apartment when we left. I requested multiple times for a light in the back because it's pitch black next to the golf course. Lighting is poor throughout the property. And they never did. We installed a Ring to monitor who was walking out in front of the front door throughout the day and at night time the alert would go off multiple times with random people walking through into our complex. My boyfriend put up lights where he could (due to the landscapers knocking them all down including our plants, even when they were on our porches) just to give us some security. The septic system would burst almost weekly to monthly and when it leaked, it would go across our front door. It was gross. Spiders and bugs everywhere, no matter how much bug spray we used. Apartments are not furnace properly for either cold or hot weather. Rent goes up every year, no loyalty to the people that live there for awhile. Do not recommend to anyone. I should've stayed at my old complex where they appreciated their residents and were courteous and made sure we felt safe. I always try and give people the benefit of the doubt, but this place did not make it home for me. Ever.
This gated community is very quiet and hardly hear any traffic. I have a 2 story 1 bedroom 1/2 bath. Its quite roomy. The upstairs walks into a big loft and then a bedroom with it's own balcony. It's also located near a golf course, Walmart , bowling alley, buffets, and a bunch of other businesses around . They also have a convenient gas station that's within walking distance. They have 2 pools on site and it's always clean. The staff is very friendly. Maintenance is sometimes quick but usually within a few days they have it fixed. They also have an emergency number for maintenance so that comes in handy. This year, they recently redid all the roofs. You are also allowed to have 2 pets total. Have convenient doggy bags everywhere . The kitchen is dainty with it's own microwave. The cabinets are an eyesore but really doesn't bother me. Overall I would give this place a A-. I would give it an A if they had a gym in here. But can't complain!
Excellent management, but the buildings are old and do require maintenance. The maintenance staff is prompt though. The layouts are roomy and well set up. The community is gated and the rent is well worth what you get. The roofs were recently redone and there are some renovations being done to the parking lot. All and all this is a great place to live.
I am extremely happy with living here. I have had no issues with staff, my neighbors are very friendly, and it's a quiet complex. We enjoy the lake, & the visiting ducks are a plus. Maintenance responds in a friendly, & timely manner, and management addresses issues promptly. I have already renewed my lease twice. I am very pleased overall.
This complex benefits from it's location. You have to look for it to find it as it does not sit on a major road. If living in a gated complex is a plus for you then Park Greene has a "real" gate with controlled access. The grounds are well maintained and if you have irresponsible pet owners near your building let the office know and it will be addressed. The town homes or loft style apartments are pretty big for the price. I leased a 1bdr w/loft and it was really spacious. Each home has two assigned parking spots. They also have ample closet space. Negatives: The HVAC units inside the apartments are old and struggle to cool your unit especially if you have an upstairs area. They just aren't powerful enough to handle the intense SATX heat. Be prepared to see your energy bill soar once April hits. That's despite the large trees near the buildings which offer shade. The kitchen cabinets are pretty old and can be an eyesore if that bothers you. I actually recommended this complex to several friends headed to SATX. It's a steal for the price and location. If you are a runner or golfer you will love the location.
