The "Little City by the River" features an old Florida charm rarely found along the coast. Port Richey is located along the Pithlachascotee River, directly north of New Port Richey. Settled in 1883, Port Richey has remained a "little city," home to only about 3,000. But even with its tiny size, Port Richey has plenty to see and do. This is a coastal community, and beaches along Florida's Gulf Coast are minutes away. Those choosing to live in a Port Richey apartment enjoy a lifestyle based on water: beachcombing, swimming, fishing, surfing, and boating.
With its location roughly 34 miles northwest of Tampa and about 24 miles north of Clearwater, Port Richey residents can easily enjoy the attractions of the nearby bigger cities. Shopping is also close by, with the popular Gulf View Spare Mall located on the north end of the city.

Property Ratings at Park Place Port Richey
I am in my second year at Park Place and this is my favorite place to live out of all the apartments I've ever rent. It is quiet, clean, no noise, with good upkeep from management and they responded quickly the one time I had an issue (water leak from above unit). I may never leave here!
Terrible staff makes the place irredeemably bad. You live in Florida one of the best places, but you just have to deal with this staff.
Absolute worst management. Sweet as ever at first and once you live there they are the rudest, laziest people. Things are constantly falling apart when they are finally addressed it is done terribly and will need to be done again. They do not care about your privacy, money, happiness, or safety. Units are nothing like what they show you. Do not waste your money.
After touring this complex, my wife and me really liked it, It had everything we were looking for in our golden years. We like the layout and everything is on one floor which makes easy access for us since we are both disabled. The associate named Sandy was very help when we came to look at the apartments and put us on a waiting list and then followed through to get us our two bedroom apartment on the ground floor. We are excited about moving into our new apartment in November of this year. I hope this complex treats us well and we can enjoy many years here. Thank you! Sandy for treating us with great service!
Please don’t waste your time or money at park place luxury apartments in Port Richey,Florida!,,,, I have been here nearly 2 years and cannot wait to move out. Cabinet doors have fallen off,hot water heater broke and after 2 attempts to try and fix it they finally put a new one in AFTER I went without hot water for over a month. Then the refrigerator stopped working and I lost over$200 worth of food. The told me they were bringing me a new one but it was and old one with short dark curly hairs all over inside that I had to clean. And then I had MICE,they waited a whole week before coming in to put out poison.then of course ants all over and roaches,,all I do is clean clean clean. Then the final straw for me was the gigantic rat that was over a foot in length running all over I had to call maintenance to catch which took 3 hours. Plus I have dogs. 2 tiny chihuahuas. I paid a pet deposit as well as an extra $20 a month for my dogs and I was told my neighbor complained they bark consistently which is not true.. They advertise this is a pet friendly place but everyone complains about every little thing here. I have gotten several “violation” letters for things I didn’t even do. Such a nightmare Not to mention the smell of marijuana in the air all the time
I rented completely online without seeing my apartment. I was living in a very rural part of Kentucky where internet and cell service was sporadic at best. Linda was so patient and helpful as she walked me through the process. She went over and above to help me a secure an apartment. I told her what I would like and she did an outstanding job ! My apartment is perfect and everyone is so friendly. Love it here !!
My fiance and I lived here for two years and in the beginning the staff was friendly and helpful whenever you needed something. However, after about a year of loving there the management changed and everything went downhill. All ofnour cabinets and drawers in our kitchen stopped working at the same time. When I say stopped working I mean that one day they literally would not close and the drawers would not open. The office claimed that we broke them and would have to pay for them. They took the drawers and the maintenance man said the drawers are so old that they don't even sell them ant more and they have to build new ones and we loved the last four months of our lease with no drawers in our kitchen. They never returned or replaced them but somehow we are still liable for them. I tried calling the office about this multiple times and the managers are so unprofessional. They had an attitude and hung up on both my fiance and me more than once. I have nothing to gain or lose by writing this review, I just do not want someone to have to go through what I went through with these people. We never paid our rent late and our only complaints were that the apartment was literally falling apart around us. We have a four year old who lives with us and my bedroom closet door fell off the hinges and almost fell on her. They said that was also our fault and charged us $30.00 for that as well. A woman named Sandy who works in that office also gave out my lease information to my ex boyfriend who called them about a piece of mail he sent me. I have the conversation and she also went into my mailbox to check for this missing piece of mail. They also do not give you new carpets, they dye them so after walking on them for a couple months the stains really begin to show. I vacuumed and shampooed my carpets every week because like I said I had a toddler at the time and didn't want her walking on dirty carpet. This place is just a complete mess between loud neighbors, rude staff, and drug deals at the back gate and I do not want to see anybody go through what we have so if I could save anybody the hassle of renting here then this long post is worth it.
I have been here 8 months, worst 8 months of my life, if it's not heavy footed upstairs neighbors and their howling dog till all hours of the night, my apartment gets flooded and 3 days later still can't sleep here, you would think water damage was a priority but I guess not, they did give me the model apartment to sleep in after i practically begged for some help, but im paying rent to stay in my place, don't waste your time and money, needless to say I will be trying to break my lease over this, and I may consult an attorney, some of my property was also damaged.
This place is going down hill constantly. The new owners are horrendous. It's all about money to them and fixing things in the cheapest ways possible. Been through a few owners here but these current ones are the worst. This place is NOT safe. In the last two years my car has been broken into multiple times. There's mold in the AC vents that they refuse to fix because the apartment is occupied. Maintenance does a horrible job fixing things when they show up and never finish the job (leaving work unpainted and walls unfinished). No one picks up after their animals. The police are always in here. In the last year there's been several robberies, a stabbing and a murder. Drugs are always being sold in the back and the office does nothing. Their response is "protect yourself" we used to have security but now it's too expensive for them. The gate is worthless as they never enforce it and people drive in after residents. Non residents are always in the pool and the amount of lewd activities is disgusting. Again the office doesn't care. Residents fornicating on their patios at all hours of the day as well. They have multiple places where mini sinkholes have swallowed the fence and or the fence has rotted to the point of collapse. They just tape it off and wait months to fix it. The wood on the mail center is rotted through and just waiting to fall on someone's head. They've known for three years about this. Car ports are not enforced and hey will never tow someone in the space you pay for every month. The streets through are a disaster, like going through a corn field at 70 mph. Every time it rains new pot holes to China open up that go weeks unfixed. The water bills are a scam. Billed by a third party company who charges $5 just to bill you every month. Typically ranging in the $70-90 range for two people. Speaking of water if water leaks and soaks walls they don't fix it promoting mold. The windows are horribly sealed. Every time it rains you smell the rain, on super hot days you can see the blinds moving with the heat coming in from outside. They use the excuse they can't fix them because it's occupied. The women in the office are horrible. Rude and think they're better than everyone. The manager is the worst and when not hiding from residents in her office is an absolute miserable person to talk to. I could honestly go on and on here. Moral of the story don't touch this place with a 500' pole. It's a cesspool.
We've had numerous leaks, one of which they cannot seem to fix and maintenance has been here several times attempting to fix it but can't. Mold could grow in the spot where the leak is, there are bed bugs (I read a review on another site that a previous tenant had the same problem at park place), palmetto bugs, can't seem to figure out where they are coming from, smaller roaches, tons of winged ants coming in from the windows one night. Noisy neighbors. Maintenance respond quickly. Staff are nice. They make you pay for exterminating bed bugs and Ben though it is probably and on going problem they know they have at this site. I never had bed bugs in my previous apts. til I moved here. There are snakes too. It I could go back in time knowing what I know now about this apt complex I would not make the same mistake and move here again. They raise the rent after a year and these apts are not even worth paying extra rent. Final thought, its a scam save your money.
I have lived in apartments most of my 65 years. I have seen both good and bad. I have nothing to gain by telling you Park Place, Port Richey is the best. They have a very polite and most accommodating office staff. The maintenance guys are terrific. The grounds are extremely well kept and facilities are immaculate. We have two swimming pools, exercise facility and laundry room. I moved here from a brand new complex in middle Georgia and that place could shine this place’s front gate. You will not regret the place, the attention and the crew. Tommy
My husband and I have been at Park Place Apts for 5 years!! Best move we ever made!! Office staff and maintenance crew are the best around. Complex is well groomed and very clean!!! There is always someone on site in case of an emergency and they respond quickly!!! Pools and hot tubs are well maintained!!! They have several events through the year for the residents to get together!! Park Place is close to shopping, buses and medical centers. Could not ask for anything better!! Plan to stay for a long time!!!!!
We have been living here for almost 2 years. During that time the management and staff have been friendly. They try to do the best they can maintaining an old run down complex. Apparently there is little resources for capital improvements so the cheapest materials are used for repairs. Our shower tub floor was cracked, leaking and not repaired for several months. We live on the second floor and one day walking out of our apartment the very top step broke loose, and I almost fell all the way down because of the worn out brackets. The step was then propped up with jacks and remained that way for over six months before the step brackets were replaced. The parking lot is a rough bumpy road, there is not adequate parking spaces for residences or guests. This results in driving around looking for a place to park, long walks carrying groceries and whatever. They do offer covered parking which takes up a majority of the parking spaces, but they are old and have fallen on resident's vehicles. For almost two years we have used parking spots that are marked out with an "X" because of the lack of parking spaces. People were doing it before we moved in and have been doing this as well. Two months ago a single sign was placed in front of one of those X out parking spots that says "No Parking" and now no one parks in that spot. This morning my wife came out to go to work and the car was missing. She said she parked in one of the parking spots with an X (not the one with the no parking sign), because there was no other parking spaces and it was after dark when she got home from work. We had to drive around looking for a sign advising us on the towing company. Finally I found a single sign at the entrance, obscured behind a light pole that we have driven by a thousand times but never noticed. We went to the impound yard, retrieved the vehicle for $152.00. I went to management and asked why after almost two years they now decided to start enforcing no parking areas without making an announcement to the residence like they do when it is time to put out fire extinguishers for inspection. She said she was sorry, but they would not reimburse our towing expense. So with that in mind, when you come and inspect the property, make sure you pay attention to the little details and "after thoughts" and save yourself a lot of frustration...
We went to the office and had an appointment. When we arrived no one knew we were coming. I had everyones name. Whom I spoke with and who I was supposed to have the appointment with. They were eating and acted as though we were bothering them. Then they were bad mouthing employees that were not there. Finally, someone decided to help us. Needless to say, because of their unprofessional attitudes amd rudeness, I would never consider living there.
Love living here and how quickly everything is taken care of.
First time living in an apartment in many years. No kitchen space and no cabinet storage. Property has their own water and sewage company and over charge the residence. Seems like many are evicted monthly and I am a little leery of some of the residence but, have made many friends and try to help the older People from time to time.
jus .t an average apartment .charge for parking rent go. up. every month. nothing is included.
Intend to sign a lease in April or May 2015 Looks very good.
This community will be a great place for us to move to. We live in New Hampshire and are planning our move in Aug. to Park Place. We have already put a hold on our place and the office staff was so nice and friendly and helpful. I am so looking forward to moving in and living at Park Place.
My wife & I moved to Florida 5 1/2 years ago with little idea of apartment complexes, locations, prices, and pet rules. It's taken this long to find a nice complex, location, & afforadable prices. We moved 3 times. We are currently in a 55 and over complex, I am 67 and wife 49. It is a beautiful building and that is great however we quickly got tired of having to go thru a single entrance and very long hallways just to get to your apartment. Also atmosphere of elderly was not something thought of before moving in. Our lease is getting ready to expire and we want to make Park Place our permanent place of residence. We have a friend that used to live there and we fell in love with her one bedroom unit on the second floor. We would love to fill out an application to move in. Our hopes are to get a one bedroom on the first floor with a screened in porch. My wife has trouble going up stairs.
