Frog Hollow is a predominantly residential community minutes from Downtown Hartford and Trinity College. The entire neighborhood is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and covers more than 150 acres. Between 1850 and 1930, Frog Hollow experienced a rapid increase in development – many of these buildings and homes still stand today.
The name of the community was taken from the marsh lands near the intersection of Broad and Ward Streets. Residents adore its international fare restaurants along Park Street. Firebox is a gourmet restaurant in town with an impressive menu, and it’s in walking distance of Columbus Green Park.
Many businesses like the Connecticut Department of Public Health call Frog Hollow home.

Property Ratings at Park Place Towers
horrible management, maintenance and the building is in shambles, run!
This is one of the few apartment complexes in the area with an enclosed parking garage. This said, be sure to park within the lines, as being over even a few inches will trigger a large PAPER ADHESIVE parking sticker placed directly in your line of sight on the drivers side window. I don't know how the management thinks that this is an acceptable method of parking enforcement, but if you don't want your vehicle vandalized by the same people charging $45/mo for the privilege of parking in a garage I would very much consider going elsewhere.
Nice value, two minutes to Hog River Brewery and Parkville Market, and a lot of diverse restaurants in Park Street. We lived for 5 years and it was great, staff, front desk and maintenance were very nice with me and my family. Apartments are comfortable, no noise at all. We have to move because the pandemic and they understand and help us a lot. I might have to return again someday in 2022 and Park Place is always my firs option.
I have been living here for almost two years and I would give more than 5 stars if I could. The facilities are clean and this is a safe place to live. They have a 24/7 reception and no one enters unless you authorize it. It is very family oriented and has beautiful amenities. They have followed all the procedures during the pandemic and took the necessary steps to protect the residents and the staff. I highly recommend it.
I love this place!!! The property is gorgeous. A beautifully manicured landscape and views that are to die for! Management and maintenance have always responded promptly and have been exceptionally professional when speaking with me. I love the fact that I can barely hear the outside hustle and bustle of the city compared to when I was staying Downtown, and I also love that the Concierge at the front desk actually takes the time to remember your name and give you a friendly smile as you head out the door to work. I am OBSESSED with their Skyview and the Towers Club (although they still require social distancing, hourly sanitation, and masks). That's another thing; they have done so well with COVID precautions that they even gave all of us residents little gift bags with personalized hand sanitizers and masks. They're always giving out little tokens of appreciation, and before the pandemic, they served substantial buffet dinners with drinks and music for us. The staff at Park Place give it a warm and cozy atmosphere where anyone would want to live, young or old. I've never had a bad experience in my four years of living here, and I think it's fair to say that most of the negative reviews were probably made by disgruntled residents who were more demanding than most.
The management's response to issues are very very poor. The recent front desk reps arent polite to converse with. The apartments are small and the walls very thin. The only positive is covered parking, which they have to provide considering the surrounding not being too safe. I would look else where even if you have to pay a little extra.
Do not live here. Price seems like a steal - until you realize you will be charged for every ridiculous thing. Good luck with a maintenance request being fulfilled with in a reasonable time period (your toilet won't flush? We'll get to that in a week and break it more). Neighborhood is horrific and dangerous, not to mention loud. Can't wait until my lease is up.
I know you're probably reading this thinking that what i'm about to say is an exaggeration or some type of hyperbole. THIS BUILDING IS HORRIBLE - DO NOT LIVE HERE. Between the harassment from management, the made up fees (lost trash room key $40, not-picking-up-your-package fee $15...the list continues), and the overall low maintenance of the building - i'd recommend saving your money and moving to the West End or pretty much any other building in the Greater Hartford Area. Seriously, I know you're sitting there thinking that there's no way it's as bad as it's worst review...and that's fair. But after experiencing this place for myself - I would highly recommend you don't put yourself through the same trouble of living in this terribly managed building. Summary; Do not live here - terrible building and terrible management.
My wife and I move to Park Place Towers in January 2016, looking for saving money in rent without losing comfort. Our experience has been wonderful so far. The location and amenities are excellent, and the staff is always helpful and kind, especially Aris, who from the beginning has been so professional and willing to help. Also Anthony, Urvin and the other people in the front desk are very attentive, as well as Jose, Carol, Jaime, and Jonathan. Definitely all staff has been very nice and helpful. We were so surprise that in our first week everybody know us by our names. The property is beautiful and well care. This is a marvelous place to live in Hartford, outside of downtown but close to everything. You are close enough to downtown and that is very convenient. Lot of good and cheap restaurants, all with delivery service around. Gym is great.
I'm very much satisfied with this place. It's got everything i needed like Gym, Tennis court and a walking trial within the property. My office is reachable within no time as the Downtown is so close by. Plus it has shopping mall and grocery stores around. Maintenance and Staff are friendly. I surely recommend this place to anybody moving into Hartford.
The management and maintenance is awful. No matter how many times you call, they never get back to you. I've had a few maintenance emergencies, and they take days to come up and fix it. The location is super convenient, but the apartment is not worth how much they charge for rent. I will not be renewing my lease.
Whenever I have a maintenance issue, it takes days to fix a problem, even when it is an emergency. The leasing office never gets back to you, and if you ask for anyone in the property management office, you have to camp outside their offices just to get anything done because they do not call our email you back. Also, the kitchens are VERY small and VERY outdated. The carpeting is also a mess even after they told me they would replace it when I moved in - they didn't.
Picked this place for my first apartment and couldn't be happier. I was a little apprehensive living in Hartford, but the location isn't bad, a perfect distance between W. Hartford and downtown. It has everything I needed to living on my own and the gym, although small, has everything you need for a standard routine. I definitely recommend this to anyone looking to move into the Hartford area.
