Wanted to thank Angel, Blanco< Christy for the wonderful job they do I lived there for two years and all three were so pleasant and helpful they deserve a raise. The only negatives for me were all the cats there they leave a mess everywhere they ruined items on my back porch using it for a bathroom. Didn't care so much for one of the maintanance men John sometimes very rude and disrespectful don't know why he still has a job. So again big thanks to the ladies in the office wish you the best T. a week before the move im date, i was informed the place would be fixed and ready by my move in date of 3/26/17. my first night, i noticed my shower was still broken (missing the hot water knob) and their “fixing it” was just putting a knob that didnt work, it was practically there for decoration. the dishwasher was broken . the a/c would constantly go out. plumbing was so bad the toilets kept getting clogged and not only did maintenance come three times... he told us the next time he had to come fix the toilet, he was gonna charge us ! the gates were never fixed and they have a rule where you cant wash your car or do an oil charge. maintenance has no idea what they are doing. management always gone from the office and were always gone for lunch for hours at a time. NEVER MOVE HERE .

Signed a lease on 5/18/17. When we were showed a model we were showed a unit that had new flooring, newer appliances and cabinets. On the day of move-in I received a couple texts & a video from my husband that the apartment was dirty & that they were calling in a cleaning crew to come in clean. When I got to the unit I noticed an old musty smell in the unit along a cat litter box smell. Our unit didn't have the dark blackish wood, appliances or cabinets as the model we were shown which added to the earlier frustrations of the unit being dirty. The 2 nights we slept in the unit, 5/18 & 5/19, I woke up with severe headaches. On Saturday 5/20, I went down to the office with my husband to express our extreme disappointment in the unit & felt like we were showed a nice unit to hook us in and then delivered a lemon after signing a lease. Per Angel it was pretty much, you signed a lease, you're stuck, you can stick it out or break your lease. No sympathy that we felt like we were scammed, no remorse that they showed us a nice model and moved us into a unit that was NOT like the model we were initially showed. When I brought up the smell and the fact that I woke up with headaches their only excuse was that the units are older, which I knew, and that I needed to give it some time for our smell and belonging to take over the space and get our own smell. We were asked if we wanted to give it some time or break our lease and at that point I was so upset I advised her I was going to break my lease. We were then told they required a 60 day notice along with a $1230.00 fee to break the lease and that I am obligated for the apartment/rent until 7/31/17. My husband even asked if they could take the $1200.00 we put down to move in and just call it a draw and sever all ties, to which we were told no that could not be done. We tried to work with them even after feeling scammed! Put down $1200 to move in. PLUS 2 months market value rent since they require a 60 day vacate notice ($2096.00 for both June & July) plus the lease break fee of $1200.00. All together to stay there 48 hours is going to cost my husband and I approximately $4500.00. I have contacted locals news stations to make other consumers aware.
I just want to say a big THANK YOU to the newest park manager, Christie(sp?), and the maintenance staff, especially John and Alex, as well as the folks who replace fencing. When I first moved in almost a year ago, I asked the new management staff, at the time (who has been replaced), if they would please replace a section of my backyard fencing, which I shared with my neighbor, that was falling into my yard due to an overgrown tree branch from my neighbor's yard pushing it over. I was told that all of the fencing was being replaced, and, eventually, they would get to my fence. It has been 8 months since my request. Since Christie took over, the tree branch was removed a couple of months' ago. However, the fence section was in worse shape than ever, with rusty nails sticking and falling out, causing issues between my and my neighbor's dogs, to say the least. The fencing crew was making their way to my section of the park, but, it was still going to be a while before they would get to me. I expressed my concerns about the safety of my and my new neighbor's dogs (who were not exactly friendly towards each other and making the fence even more unstable). THE VERY NEXT DAY, CHRISTIE AND THE MAINTENANCE STAFF had fencing sections laying outside my yard!! THE DAY AFTER THAT, THE FENCE SECTIONS WERE BEAUTIFULLY REPLACED, AND THE CREW EVEN FIXED MY TROUBLESOME GATE (BONUS!!!), AND....AT THE END OF THE DAY WHEN THEY FINISHED, THEY STARTED THE WATER TRICKLING ON ONE OF MY BACKYARD TREES (BONUS, BONUS!!!!)!! I literally felt a bit pampered!!! Thank you, again, Christie, John and the maintenance crew!! ??????
We have lost trees, but mngmnt wasn't in agreement with how many trees actually ended up gone. The company was taking trees after they were told NOT TO REMOVE ANY MORE (they were just supposed to be cleaning up) so their services were completely terminated. Rosa, Star & Essie were so patient with my complaints about losing trees! The day they removed 2 trees from my front windows I called in tears. Essie was so sweet & then I received a surprise call from Star the next day just to see how I was feeling. I also see new trees planted down my street (Windsor) & they aren't baby saplings! For almost 20 years I have been at Park Shadows. First through visiting family members, then becoming a resident myself. As a resident I've been through 2 owners & 3 different Managers. My first Manager, Sherry, was truly wonderful to us. Although the 2nd Manager & staff weren't as friendly, & ignored many work orders, that mngmnt team has now been replaced with our current team, & I'd like to give a shout out to Rosa, Star & our newest addition, Essie. With these 3 ladies in the office I feel happy & comfortable with mngmnt. These women have always been warm & friendly and have always made my family feel as if they care very much about our comfort & happiness. We always walk out of the office feeling that mngmnt views us as important. Another PLUS with this mngmnt team is their attempt to keep a "family feeling" in our office. During times when my family and I have financial difficulty & have not been able to pay the rent on time, we are always treated with respect and not like criminals, or as if we're worthless. In fact, when in the office during these unhappy moments, Essie offers words of comfort saying "things will get better". This is totally unexpected from a mngmnt crew and above & beyond what is required of them. Rosa, Star and Essie make it a pleasure to live here! The maintenance staff is friendly and efficient and wave and smile as we drive in and out of the Park, and the Park itself and the Homes & Yards are beautiful! If you are looking at Park Shadows as your potential future home, you'll be really happy here. It's not like living in an apartment complex, it's like living in your own home, with your own personal backyard, and a management team that really puts your comfort and happiness as a priority in how they do what they do. I've lived here for over 6 years and I have loved ever minute, until we were bought about a month ago. The new management company is raising the rent close to two hundred dollars. They took away our night security so many vehicles have been broken into (something we haven't experienced before.) I'm not sure what's going on with our water; I called to pay our bill and was told the contract with them is no longer in standing (which we were not informed of).. and the most heartbreaking situation of all; they are cutting down an estimated total of 400 trees. One of the MAIN reasons my family and I moved into this community was because of the trees and the "North/Prescott feel." I understand that we recently had a bad storm that caused a tree to fall into someone home. So in response the former management company decided to take down some 'high risk' trees to prevent any future damage to a home and/or resident; and this action is completely understandable. But this new management company has authorized the butchering of beautiful, healthy, strong, trees that ARE NO WHERE NEAR A HOME. It's devastating, nauseating and absolutely heartbreaking to come home everyday after work to see our once overgrown and lush community cut down to a sparse drive way (compared to the previous TWENTY or so years) They sent out a newsletter asking us to give them a good review in exchange for the chance to get $150 off of our rent. That's laughable. In the past I would have written a good review without the bribe... But now I wouldn't write a good review even if they offered to pay my whole rent which is well over 1,000 a month.. I miss the way this place used to be and probably won't stay here much longer; along with many of my neighbors, we all agree... I think we have to go.
Lived here for about 4-5 years already and it's great. Staff is professional and friendly always happy and helpful Maintenance staff is always on the go and completes work orders on time. I would recommend park shadows to anyone
Park Shadows Country Homes is a wonderful community. Every apartment has a nice backyard that you get to landscape. Neighbors are friendly and look out for you. They have activities for everyone. A beautiful pool and kiddie pool. And if you want the feel of Northern Arizona just outside of Phoenix, this is the place. You do have to pay for water, but they are great with getting work orders done.
