Although it is the state capital and located deep in the heart of Texas, Austin generally has more in common with places like Portland, Oregon rather than other large Lone Star State cities like Dallas or Houston. Consistently named one of the best places to live in America, Austin combines passions for food, live music, entrepreneurship, iconoclastic attitudes, and Texas traditions into a wholly unique cocktail that people just can’t get enough of.
The expansion of the tech industry and the wild popularity of music festivals like Austin City Limits and South by Southwest have boosted Austin’s profile as one of America’s most in-demand communities of the 21st century so far, attracting people from all walks of life and every corner of the world.
Regardless of their atypical culture, Texas pride runs deep in Austinites. Many of the city’s hip, young entrepreneurs are more than happy to deal in classic regional staples like Tex-Mex food, cowboy boots, and country music.

Property Ratings at Park Terrace Apartments
I've lived in this complex for almost 2 years now. It's a smaller complex with some great amenities. It is well taken care of and has some beautiful landscaping. My neighbors are awesome Austin people who love to cook and they all love animals (it's a big thing here). There's a little herb/vegetable garden in the front that anyone can plant or take from. The location is perfect, right next to zilker/Barton springs and if you are lucky enough to have a front apartment you will have an amazing view of the downtown skyline or if you live in the court yard area it looks over the pool and the well taken care of grounds. Parking is never an issue, there is assigned parking or guest parking in the pack which always has spots open. The manager is so sweet and she is extremely helpful although unless you have an appointment or live in the front where her office is and know when she is there it can be a little difficult to catch her but send an email and she is quick to reply!
I have lived here for over a year now and I can't imagine a better Austin location. It's cheaper than all the flimsy high-rises downtown and has so much charm and character. Everyone is friendly and most people have a dog. It's a true Austin gem!
