Situated south of Mount Pleasant and north of Adams Morgan, Lanier Heights is a small neighborhood that blends seamlessly into the larger Adams Morgan neighborhood. The National Zoo begins along the northwest side, and Downtown DC is just over a mile to the south. With its elegant row houses, tree-lined streets, Art Deco homes, and charming apartment buildings, Lanier Heights is one of DC's historic hidden gems.
The neighborhood began as one of Washington DC's earliest subdivisions, established around 1883. Residents enjoy fast access to the National Zoo, Rock Creek Park Trails, and Walter Pierce Park, which is located in the neighborhood and offers ball courts and fields, a playground, chess tables, and a dog park.

Property Ratings at Park Terrace
Newly renovated apartment in a bit of an older charming building. Nice neighborhood only a 10 minute walk to the zoo. 15 minutes to 2 different Metro lines. Kitchen is quite small, but can't beat utilities included in rent.
Pros: -Apartment location 5-20 mins walking to everything( Metro, Supermarket, Bus stop and Zoo) walking distance to Columbia heighs /woodley park metro, safeway, target and harris teeter and 18 th st where tons of restaurants. - Quiet street with lots of trees and sunshine Despite being so close to everything, lanier place is able to keep its tranquility, neigbors gardens are well kept and a lot of flowers in summer - Safety haven't encountered any trouble so far expect occasionally street pick-up/weird greeting by old man. - Nice rooftop deck for relaxing Cons- -Size of kitchen Quite small, not enough storage room -AC Really nosiy and cannot open window in the bedroom
