Where should I even begin with the bad experiences? My husband and I lived here for about a year and a half and just moved out due to relocating for the Navy. They charged us the entire last months rent even though we had just received orders with a specific moving date, and they were hardly accommodating with following the rules for military people, they only do the bare minimum and try to squeeze every penny they can out of you. The maintenance people were typically nice and timely, but the maintenance office would never return my calls for weeks at a time and on several occasions I had to speak to the manager Laurie just to finally get someone out to do things. These things included taking care of the black mold growing in the shower grout and the oven randomly breaking. They eventually got fixed, but no resident should have to leave several voicemails that never get answered and have to call the main office just to get something fixed. The worst thing by far they seem to do to people is charge everyone for carpet related costs. We were in a one bedroom prior to upgrading to a two bedroom last year, and when we moved out they sent us a bill for over $800 to replace all of the carpet trying to charge us for “stains” and “damages”. They had stated that the carpet was not able to be cleaned so they had to replace it. When I asked the manager to show me proof that they attempted to at least clean it first before replacing it, she seemed to get very angry and defensive. The damaged area was a very tiny portion near the bathroom door which had been there prior to us moving in and was hardly even noticeable, yet they stated they can’t patch carpet and had to replace the entire thing. It was also interesting that there was a very clear line where they had patched carpet in the living room, and we were shocked that they tried to pass that off on us saying it was damage we had done. I’m curious to understand their thought process on thinking that we patched their carpet? It was a good thing that I found a video from the day we moved in that showed these so called “damages”. After showing all of this evidence to the manager, she reduced the amount we were being forced to pay significantly. My guess is because she didn’t want a court case for this company that probably would have lost on their end due to all of the pictures and videos I had. Take your hard earned money elsewhere because this business only wants to take it.

Where to even begin?? The only word that comes to mind when I think of this place is greedy. If they can charge you for something, they will. On top of old outdated apartments will less then reliable plumbing, they charge $40 extra a month for a washer dryer that hooks up to a KITCHEN SINK and a dryer that is so weak, it takes 5 hours to dry a half load of laundry. Even the tech guy told me the dryer was "less then average" Curtains and thermostat break often and the matinence team either takes 7 days to show up or they can't "fix" it and have to call someone else. Bugs abound absolutely everywhere and they don't spray. I spent more money on bug killer and traps then I should ever have to. Roaches left and right. We got charged $1600 to break our lease because we were so miserable and surprise, suprise another $1800 2 months after leaving for charges that we were never told about or were mentioned anywhere in our lease. I'm so happy they think people just have tons of money laying around. There are way better places out there!!!

Pest control continues to be a service that we offer at no additional charge every Thursday. This benefit is explained during the initial tour of community and again at move-in. Many people prefer to opt for the portable washers and dryers that are offered as an additional, convenient alternative to the full size appliances located in the common area of each building. The charges you mentioned at move-out are comprised of the lease termination fee and the concession reimbursement that you agreed to pay in the event you did not fulfill your renewal lease. I have an open-door policy and strive to address any concerns that residents and visitors have, so I would have been more than happy to have sat down with you for a conversation. I wanted something clean and affordable. This place delivered on both. I had a friend stationed here who lived at Park Towne for two years and never had a complaint. The staff has been responsive and accommodating to my requests. I’ve been here for 3 months now and I’m really glad I chose this place. My neighbors are cool. No complaints.

The area was very well kept when I moved in. My car was broken into twice and the manager did nothing about it. The manager is highly unprofessional and lost all my paperwork.

The staff members are extremely nice as well as the maintenance guys. I'm highly disappointed by this apartment complex due to various reasons. When i first moved in there were holes all in the walls, leaking sink in the bathroom/kitchen and the drain was clogged in all sinks and the bathtub. The Apartment required us to pay the previous tenant's electricity bill as we moved in while inserting hidden fees in between each monthly payment. They threatened to make us pay a whole month rent for leaving my kayak on the porch, behind a bush out of visibility. I do not recommend this place.
The Park Towne staff is excellent! Especially Sharon, who helped me during my move in. She was very knowledgeable about the area, quick to respond to any emails or communication, and helpful with any questions. Sharon and the rest of the staff are always welcoming every time I go in the office. I've only submitted one maintenance request so far and it was answered the next day. The grounds are always well maintained. The maintenance staff does a really great job. There's never any trash or anything on the ground. The neighborhood is quiet and conveniently close to the beach, the airport, stores, and restaurants. Plus the clubhouse, resort style pool, and 24 hr gym are great perks. I'm very pleased with the apartment and the customer service.

Parktowne is a fabulous place that I get to live with my beautiful family. When things get hard for you, they understand. The spacious apartments they offer really make it easy to call it home.
I relocated from NY decided to make ParkTowne my new home almost 3 years ago. The staff is very professional, the grounds are always well maintained and it is one of the most conveniently located properties in the area at and at a good price. This is a nice, quiet area, it is close to several schools, beaches, military base, Dr's offices, gym, restaurants, the airport, pet stores/vet, banks and somewhere in the middle between downtown Norfolk and the VB Oceanfront. The staff - I have moved around a few times and I never encountered an office manager like Ms Laurie at this property, she is a true professional, very friendly and seem to have a genuinely good heart, Mr. Jevaunte is a fairly new addition to the office team and he blends in well, he is very outgoing and has a very infectious positive attitude. The office overall appears to be well managed; no voice message left unanswered/all calls returned, you are always greeted upon entering, even when they are assisting other residents. They have a larger maintenance team than any other property I have ever stayed at and they too see to genuinely love their job, I came to this conclusion - particularly by their appearance and how they present themselves, most of them will greet you in passing, pull over so you can drive by and the maintenance request are taken care off in a timely manner. There is assigned parking, the property just added a new clubhouse with a nice lounge area, with computers, flat screens, a pool with grill area and fitness center. My co-workers were swapping horror stories this morning about their apartment complex, its management etc, knowing that I do not have to deal with the issues that they have been subjected to, has prompted me to write this review, in hopes that I am able to help someone avoid a few unnecessary headaches. What you (the prospective tenant) sees - is the location, the size, the price of the apartment and the amenities what you have yet to know is how you will be treated while you are there. If your experience is anything like mine, you will be just fine.. Nowhere is ever perfect, but this place overall is pretty good. This is the perfect place where you'll always feel you're at home! Recently moved in August and the staff from Park Towne Apartments was incredibly caring and military friendly. They provided my husband and I information about the area. Walking distance to the supermarket, banks, and restaurants. Park Towne has a beautiful resort like pool with an outdoor fireplace, stainless steel grills to do barbeque as well as a fitness center and clubhouse right next door. Few minutes away from different military bases but overall a place where your mind will be put at ease every time you come home.
Park Towne Apartments exceeds my expectations for the rent and meets my needs as it is a clean and efficient space convenient to my work while also an easy walk to my gym, barber shop, and grocery. I can walk to a Ruby Tuesdays and a Starbucks as well. An exceptional feature is the large,well maintained pool and courtyard that features grills and an outdoor fireplace. A separate gym is provided that is equipped with treadmills, ellipticals, weight equipment and flat screens. WiFi is available both poolside and in the gym. The management staff are professional and conscientious, are quick to complete maintenance items and ensure the grounds and buildings are clean and in good order.
I have nothing but nice things to say about this complex. The complex is nice and clean, office staff is just wonderful. They have helped me in any and ever thing that I need especially Javonte. Maintenance is fast and efficient. Easy access to shopping, restaurants, and public transportation.
The office at Parke Towne is extremely accommodating. Nice, quite and clean neighborhood. Updated amenities. Feels like home.
Parktowne apartments offers a wide blog resort style amenities, a friendly maintenance staff, and possibly the most spacious and military friendly apartments offered. It's great for my beautiful daughter, my fiancée,and myself.
