Along Connecticut Avenue, a major commercial and transportation hub of Northwest D.C., lies the neighborhood of Forest Hills. Students from the University of District Columbia and the nearby American University infuses a college vibe into a neighborhood that also contains foreign embassies and their dignitaries.
The neighborhood lies a bit north from the main downtown area of D.C., yet the red metro line that runs along Connecticut Avenue makes this neighborhood ideal for those who want a little more peace and quiet after a day's work while still having prime access to all nightlife activities of downtown.

Property Ratings at Park Van Ness
If you’re used to having pet sitters come while you’re traveling, this isn’t the place for you. Our Rover has had issues getting access for four days in a row. Can also vouch for the marijuana smoke, which seems to come through my bathroom vent.
As a longtime Park Van Ness resident, the unit prices do not match the quality and there is a distinct lack of attention to resident safety and management of the property. This has included multiple police calls over the last month, including for a theft, non-resident individuals entering and trying doors, frequent marijuana smoke and usage in common areas and more. More reminiscent of a building in a much rougher part of the city and issues multiple residents have complained about to no avail.
!!!PLEASE READ!!! I was looking at particular unit for WEEKS in advance. Came to DC to view it and it was not ready. I gave leasing offie my info to let me know as soon as it was available THEY NEVER CALLED. Came back the following week and it was available for viewing, still no notifications. When it was time for me to sign the lease after the tour. I was told to do it online, it was already removed because someone else was able to apply after being in contact with me for weeks prior to it being on the market. THE WORST STAFF EVER! WHEN BROUGHT TO MANAGERS ATTENTION they did nothing but an "I'm sorry" this showed me the true mentality of their staff and I could only imagine actually living there it was EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL !
It is a very nice building with a lot of amenities. The problem is that there is lack of maintenance, should anything happen in the middle of the night. I had 2 bad experiences with fire alarm battery that was beeping every second. The first time that happened was Sunday morning, but maintenance was not available. I was told that i have to wait until next morning to be fixed. Thankfully, the lady in the front desk, volunteered to help me with that. The second experience was Monday morning at 4.00 am. Woke me up in the morning, and was beeping every few seconds in my bedroom. I did not have luck this time, as the lady in the front desk, refused to help me. I had to suffer until 7.00 am in the morning, helpless!!!
The apartment is small but nice. Unfortunately, the party room has an outdoor terrace where parties are held. Even during the week there are people gathering there socializing. That's nice but not if you have to get up early to go to work and you want to go to sleep. Again tonight there are people partying after 10pm and it sounds like they are in my apartment. When you call the desk the attendant acts like it's a not a problem and does absolutely nothing to ask the people to keep the noise level down. The last time I called about the noise I was told there were many complaints but still the terrace remains open late in the evening.
Park Van Ness has got to be one of the nicest, if not the nicest, apartment building in Northwest DC. The building is incredibly clean and everyone in the community is very friendly. The apartments themselves are not as large as some of the surrounding buildings but they are clean and equipped with brand new appliances. The fitness center has great machines and cardio equipment and the rooftop is a perfect spot to relax, grill or go for a swim. Parking is a bit expensive but it is well worth it since street parking is a rare find in DC. I highly recommend this apartment complex!
