Where Uptown makes a splash with its hip restaurants, cool hangouts, trendy boutiques, and walkability and Highland Park exudes wealth and quiet sophistication, there's a Dallas neighborhood that strikes the perfect balance between the two: Oak Lawn. This fun-loving neighborhood is best known for its events, in particular its annual Halloween party and its Pride Parade. Cedar Springs Road is lined with shops, restaurants, and nightclubs and the beautiful Turtle Creek provides a tree-filled path for walking and jogging.
You'll find a wide variety of housing in Oak Lawn, from high-rise apartments and condos to luxury townhomes and charming duplexes -- some in renovated historic mansions. And while Oak Lawn is separated from Uptown by Turtle Creek, many Oak Lawn residents still claim parts of Uptown as their own.

Property Ratings at Park West
Love our managers here at park west they do a awesome job daily also our maintenance team does a very good job on keeping up with the property and the maintenance work
Everything is broken. Some outer doors do not close or lock. The gate to the parking garage has been broken for months, resulting in cars being broken into. The pool was closed during half the summer. We pay an amenity fee, but half of the amenities are broken. The grass was allowed to grow to at least 2 feet in height during the summer before it was cut. The lobby window is always smashed. My floors were sticky and there was dark mold in my bathroom when I moved in. The carpet smelled strongly of mildew. There is often dog pee and poop in the hallways. The location is nice and the management is generally polite and responsive, but the cost of rent is too high for the level of dysfunction here.
This place is not maintained at all. These 5 stars reviews are fake. Go read the reviews on Google and RealPage.
So far so good. The walking area for pets has a strong pee smell and the community garden doesn’t seem like a community garden anymore. managment is great but communication never happens at a timely manner.
I am very disappointed with my experience living at Park West. The rat infestation is out of control, and management has done little to address this serious health hazard. The advertised amenities are also far from what was promised. The gym and pool are poorly maintained, with equipment often broken and spaces rarely cleaned. Considering these amenities factor into our rent, this is unacceptable. The elevators are another persistent problem. They’re frequently out of service, forcing residents to climb stairs and endure inconvenient wait times. This issue has gone unresolved for months. To make matters worse, security is severely lacking. Access doors are often left open or broken, creating a serious safety risk for residents. Overall, Park West has failed to provide a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment. Management needs to act immediately to address these issues. Until then, I cannot recommend Park West to anyone looking for quality housing.
No matter how hard the management works to keep this building running properly and efficiently, the owners do not provide them the funds necessary for even basic repairs or maintenance. The parking gate in the garage and the freight elevator have been broken for months - this is mostly because no companies will work with the owners/property due to failure to remit payment. Several doors are broken in shared spaces, windows to the "grand hall" have been broken for months, the pool wasn't safe to use for almost the entire summer, the gas line that feeds the hot tub and the grills has been broken for over a year. All of this doesn't even begin to cover the lack of maintenance and upkeep of the property. This has the opportunity to be a gem in Oak Lawn, but has become an eye sore.
Staff if very nice and helpful. I recently moved in and I am pleased so far. There are plenty of amenities to be used here. The location is right on the middle of all the action.
I'm a recently new resident and already loving my new home. The staff is helpful and timely, neighbors are super friendly, and the grounds feel like a personal getaway, in the midst of a great location.
Everything has been good! My only complaints are with the owners and what they're willing to repair. Other than that, once again things are good.
the property really needs landscape people. The bushes are almost to the top of my window top Its just all over grown I do think its better than it was 3 months ago. But i wont be renewing here. I can rent for the same price and have a great place to live.
I have lived here for almost 4 years and what started out as an amazing living experience has slowly declined each year. The management staff cares a lot but it doesn’t seem as though the owners share the same desire in proving a quality living experience. It’s a great location and our unit is good, however, so we put up with the decline of the property.
The experience has degraded in the few years I’ve lived here. Owners and management companies have changed, and those changes led to degradation of the building. The freight elevator hasn’t worked in months, so moving in or out is more complicated, time-consuming, and costlier. Landscaping is slightly better than it was, but the complex would go weeks without lawn maintenance, and that was the exterior of the property. Interior landscaping was much worse. Machines in the fitness center remain broken. This community is a gated community, but the main entrance gate has been broken for months (very easy for non-residents to enter the parking garage and vandalize vehicles). The building owners don’t pay their vendors and suppliers, which leads to a poor experience for the management company and the residents. And then, there’s the pool, which is often closed for days or weeks at a time.
I am very happy here. But, the gate was broken in August and it has not been fixed. There are no locks on the doors to the floors and I have seen people who obviously don't like here.
Great management and amenities. wish we had more resident parties A/c does shut off at 4am for some odd reason. Parking and valet trash has been great as well
So far, I have been pleased with my experience here. The location is really great, very centrally located--which is part of why I chose to it begin with.
I feel that this is a common experience in a lot of apartment communities, but the lack of respect from other residents in the building is crazy. Not respecting noise, not cleaning up after themselves or their pets. It makes it difficult to enjoy living in the building. On top of that, the property management fails to maintain the grounds or have appropriate communication to residents. Safety to residents is not a top priority.
I’ve had a good experience living here. What I love the most about this property is that it has two dog parks. As a dog owner it is very important to me that my dogs have a place to play and run
Doors not open properly, elevator not working for weeks now, pools getting dirty every now and then and few other problems all around. Maintenance is doing great. They’ve been very helpful
The apartment was in great condition, and I have been really happy with the staff and complex. The kitchen is my favorite part of my apartment
I loved to live here, however, currently the grass and weeds outside my apartment are 2 feet tall along a busy thoroughfare. Also, doors don’t always work, and pool is not well maintained. I have seen people out here to ‘work’ on stuff but it never seems to get ‘fixed.’ Elevators (especially the freight one) always seems to have an out of service sign on it as well. Location is great and the manager tries but I am very uncertain if the current owner is paying any contractors and so they don’t have any actually fixing things. We often get told they are waiting on a part but this is not Covid and supply chains are working. This is distressing as they charge luxury rates but this is not luxury living.
Everyone here is very kind and always willing to help, but the doors take a few tries to open and the elevators haven’t been working for a while.
My experience has been nothing short of amazing! Everyone has been very accommodating and helpful. Flower is the best!! She gave me everything that I asked for at a reasonable price and she herself and staff were very welcoming! Thank you
Everything is still great. The office team is extremely helpful and you never have to dread going inside to speak with them. It's nice to have a group of people actually there to help.
Property has gone down hill in the four years I have lived here. Rent is too high for the way the complex is kept up. Love the location but will be looking to move when lease is up.
Although this community has a lot of negative reviews, I truly believe this is a great place to live. Yes - there are issues, but the community itself is great. My neighbors are friendly, the location is prime, and the current staff are accommodating. The frequent flyer issues tend to be the pool not being available to use (my biggest gripe at the moment), gates being broken (this is due to negligence, not the property's fault), and exterior doors not working properly or being secure (this is also a concern, but the property is trying to deal with it, just wish it was higher priority). The property has taken great strides in the past year to become more secure, but there is still a ways to go to make this place a 5-star property.
The apartment management is trying their hardest to make the community better. However, maintenance requests go unanswered for months at a time and trying to speak to someone in the office is difficult.
Comfortable and reasonably price apartment in an ok neighborhood, near the Tollway and Central Expy. Building securely monitored 24/7. Sweet and efficient property management personnel fixing issues from previous one Hot tub not working for a while.
I moved in almost a month ago and everything has been great! Z has been very helpful and helped me through the whole move in process and has answered any questions I have had.
I feel like the move in was convenient with the freight elevator. The signing of the lease was easy, and convenient. Haven’t had any issues or complaints this far.
I love it here the staff is really helpful there very kind and kind the apartment is really complex.the only thing I recommend is choosing the right internet provider.
Management changed mid lease. Things went downhill, but they are slowly getting better. Rent pricing is average. Security has been almost nonexistent for a couple months.
Just moved it but really love the apartment and the staff go above and beyond no matter what it is I would highly recommend anyone looking for. New place to rent come check out Park West
Maintenance never fixes anything and management could work on communicating. The lobby bathrooms are never clean and the parking garage needs security
This place has gone downhill drastically since the change in management companies. It is dirty, stained carpets, broken doors, the freight elevator has been broken for weeks and weeks. They screwed up billing utilities and then send you notice of past due balances. Communication has been horrible, too. Stay away from here. I did not renew my lease even though they offered me a deal.
