Property Ratings at Parkchester
Parkchester is about money not your safety or your health if you see this don't move here.
I have been living in my Parkchester apartment since 2007. I loved the area and space the apartment provided for the cost. it was really great for NYC. Loved having everything you could possibly need in this little area (grocery store, cleaners, Laundry, even use to have a movie theater here) granted with time everything changes but it saddens me to say that the area has been on a downhill slope. The Parkchester Ownership does not response to tenant/owners needs as quickly or efficiently as they use to. It is now 2022 and I would not suggest the area to anyone looking to move now where as I once was a constant advocate for the area. I stayed in the area because I felt it was a safe place for my family. Now I feel like Parkchester has the ability to still be a great place to live however the new Management that has taken over a few years ago clearly does not provide the same level of service to its residents. The truth is you get a good size apartment, however this new management has taken over with sizable increase every time you renew your lease. (and this started before the Pandemic) Forced some people out just because of the increase and the area is not as clean as it once was, however still better then a lot of other NYC neighborhoods. as of 2022 I would tell you to keep looking because if you come here you will be looking for a new place to live shortly thereafter. I hope this helps.
Property Manager at Parkchester, Responded To This Review
I am sorry your experience of management services has not been positive. However, Management constantly strives to improve service response and upkeep of the property. Recently new seating areas have been added for resident comfort, new recycling areas have been installed, the basketball court has been repaved as well as have some of the walkways and parking lots. We also recently installed a chat feature on our website to respond faster to non-emergency repair requests. In parts of the condominium there are new laundromats and we are working to install new laundromats throughout the complex. This is all in addition to our regular program of pointing and facade repair. More work will be instituted in the coming months. If you go to our website, you can see the improvements under About, Parkchester News.
I was shown these apartment and they had dead roaches and they want too much paper work for these project looking apartments. Don’t waste your money and time.
So the refrigerator that they gave me just broke. Ruining hundreds of dollars worth of food as well as my diabetic medication. They're reaction.. we do not have an electrician on-premise on the weekend. We also don't care that you have lost $1000 in medication due to our faulty appliances. Our doors don't close properly. There is a ton of issues here. Don't even bother coming here.
I have been living at Parkchester for two years. I contemplated moving, but other places want twice as much rent for half as much space! Not only will I continue to live here, I want to transfer to a two bedroom.
When I first came to this neighborhood I absolutely loved it right away. Me and my fiancé looked at the apartment and fell in love right away. They have everything you need right in the area. No need to drive to shops, doctors or anything if you don't want to. Parkchester provides pretty much everything. Whether you want to rent or own Parkchester has you covered.
The ParkChester community of condos is a Diverse Nationality Community Housing Asians; Afro Americans; White; West Indians etc. My apartment is unique in that it is also in the building housing the Command Center for the on location Security Guards that patrol on foot and with visually identified patrol vans. The apartment is a spacious one bedroom with all the amenities including windows in every room; bath; living room; kitchen and bedroom over looking huge trees. In addition the community of buildings houses Macy's ; Korean fresh fish & vegetables market; all of the major banks; and is hub transportation.. GEORGE DORSETT, BRONX, NYC
Living in NY it is hard to find a decent living space. Parkchester Apartments is great. The area is well kept, shopping areas, accessibility to the train ( us New Yorkers are always on the go), but the best aspect is the apartment is HUGE. It's a real bedroom, not like all the other places that call a small box a "1 bedroom." The kitchen is absolutely stunning with the renovations. The rent is a tad bit expensive but worth every penny.
Parkchester was a great place to live ,but I honestly feel like the problem is they don't keep the buildings clean from water bugs and rats . Also they just invite any one to live here .
Living here is wonderful building is kept clean they have security on premises . Its a community within a community . let me explain they have department stores like Macy's is here Walgreen, kids store, men's store , women's clothing store a diner called Ellies and more just to name a few. Marshalls dept store as well. I really enjoy . But if i win a change is not bad. Thank You Ms. Bryant!
If you are looking a place that is QUIET and a safe & beautiful, look no further. There apts. are spacious and very affordable. You will enjoy just looking and smelling parkchester's flowers & greenery, their park areas are simple gorgeous with a water view flowing from ceramic objects. During our Christmas holidays, parkchester (at the Oval) has nice Christmas decorations and beautiful flashing lights. At Parchester South condominiums they have a choice of restaurants such as: Apple Bee's, Step In's. Burger King, Subways and so much more! They also have major shopping areas right at your finger tips for those who want to go shopping or just fancy window shopping! everything you could possibly want and need is right outside your door! :).
I live in Parkchester (a decent area in the Bronx). I lived in my apartment for a little over 4 years; its convenient, because it's 5 minutes away from my job and its cozy!
Such place is real beautiful and the apartments are very big enough, and neighborhood looks quite good, about maintenance it's always clean
I liked the place but I wasn't offered any apartment. I hope to be reconsidered. because I am sure with my Annual income I am able to pay my rent regularly.
I actually loved the community-like set up of the buildings and the stores surrounding the areas in front of the buildings. Convenient locale, clean, courteous staff as well as supreme maintenance upkeep. Quiet and peaceful appearance. Just a good homey and relaxed feel about it. I recently visited the area and was very, very pleased.
I was looking at the apartments for a friend. Pray
The initial interview went awesome. The units are very well layout & detailed. The area is nice with all the shops and center park with amazing views.
Good location, nice and clean, and barely any noise (for an apartment building)
I know this area well. I have submitted inquiry. No one gets back to you on your inquiries.
Parkchesterr is where my boyfriends father lives and I wanted to be closer near them but the staff of this apartment never got back to me :( but anyways parkchesterr is a good area the only thing is you have to pay for parking !! No Bueno
I went to the open house, however, I am interesed in a two bedroom apartment, they did not show me any, I was told the extra bedroom in a two bedroom unit was slightly smaller than the master bedroom in the one bedroom unit! I figured that much without being told. It seems that two bedroom apartments are not available because after I applied and got accepted I was informed that soon I will be getting a call to view the apartment I specified, no such call yet. I guess I have to continue looking elsewhere for an apartment.
