Property Ratings at Parker Place
Spoke with the property manager to schedule a tour and she was beyond rude. Not sure how you expect someone to rent from you if you’re disrespectful. Will not be recommending and will not be renting here ever!
Made an appointment to see an apartment and met with a very nice young woman who showed me a space that was just renovated. I completed an application and was told that they would be in touch. Shortly after leaving, I received a call from the property manager, who was so rude and condescending. After researching reviews, I learned the manager is like this with everyone. Stay clear of this property unless you want to be treated like trash. There are many other properties that would be happy to take your business. You have to wonder how she is still employed wit such a horrible demeanor.
The trains make it nearly impossible to sleep. Forget about ever having windows open at night! Sounds like the train is right outside... because it is! There's also no garbage cans or anything around the property so people throw their dog waste in the shared trash rooms, making the room and hallways smell horrendous. There's dog waste EVERYWHERE on the property, as well. Management seems like real penny pinchers are not very reasonable . Just 1 example is during the covid shutdown, they closed all the amenities that we pay for and refused to lower our rent. They made it obvious they did not care.
The apartment is brand new and has a dishwasher and in unit W/D. However, the AC/Heat is EXTREMELY loud. The vent is located in the bedroom (though I know it's in the living room in other units) and I am consistently woken up by the noise. I am not sure why a better system wasn't installed given that the building is brand new. This noise is only rivaled by the honking of the trains, which operate consistently throughout the day and run until about 1am and start all over at around 4am. This apartment building is a light sleeper's nightmare! Additionally, the dog park is not really as advertised. It is a tiny fenced in area filled with a stone type material. Luckily, the town has a nice dog park close to the complex. There is one dog waste area at the apartment complex (in the dog park) so people frequently leave the poop bags by the entrance to the building. The rent here is really expensive. If you can look past the deafening noise of the AC/Heat and the honking of the train, you may think it's worth the price.
Haven't been here long but the few issues I've had maintenance came the same day I called. Kim and Laurie are very friendly and professional. They were very helpful & patient during the move-in process. I don't know if anyone reading this has ever watched someone measure an apartment with a 6ft tape measure..but I thank them. Snow removal is top notch. Big plows come by several times to make sure the parking lots are cleared. Guys are out there with shovels & salt like a swat team. Club house is new and looks great. Has new gym equipment that people treat with respect. Everyone here seems to have the friendliest pets. I even saw someone walking a cat on a leash over the summer. The owners are friendly too. The apartments themselves are quite nice. There appears to be cheap water-soluble paint (even in the bathroom). Not really an issue because I imagine they don't charge people to repaint them as a result, but I could be mistaken. The windows are large & let in a lot of natural sunlight. Appliances work well. Mail and packages arrive with no issues, even in a complex with hundreds of tenants.
The rental experience was great with Vinny and Carrie. The units and property look great. So convenient to walk the center or hop on the train. Once you live here the train noise doesn’t even bother you anymore.
Very disorganized and lacks good customer service!! I was scheduled to see a 1 bedroom/1 bath apartment one weekend and on the day of the showing I received an email asking to reschedule it last minute. I told them that this was the only day I was available to see it, so they set me up with a different realtor. I was shown a regular 1 bed/1 bath apartment and thought it was nice but nothing too crazy for the price. The realtor took it upon herself to show me a different 1bed/1 bath, specifically a corner unit because she insisted on it having more privacy for me since I would be living alone. Before going to see it I asked if it was the same price, which she assured me it was. Once I saw the corner unit, I fell in love. It was so much better than the other one that I AGAIN asked if it was the same price because it didn't seem believable. I was once again reassured that it, in fact, was the same price. So I decided to move forward with the application process. I inquired about holding the apartment for a couple of months so that I could save up some money. One person told me I had until the first of the next month, while another told me they could hold it for 10 weeks. So I decided to go with the 10 weeks. I filled out my application, drove it down to the complex, paid the fee, and gave them the go ahead to run my credit. Within a day I was approved and the lease was sent to me. On the very first page of the lease there was already an issue. The monthly rent stated on the lease documents was $100 more than monthly price I was told multiple times. Immediately I reached out to the management, who quickly dismissed me and told me to take it or leave it. I said I was no longer interested and would like my money back for the application fee... they refused and stopped writing back to emails. I just find it funny how something that was their own error came back to bite ME. Not only did I lose money, but I wasted my time and energy on an apartment complex who clearly doesn't understand or appreciate customer service.
" This is the perfect place to live, for peaceful and comfortable living! Refurbished factory touches are great for that industrial feel,. Exposed beams and brick walls. Management is great and professional, with super snow removal which we needed the last two years. Walking distance to town and train station and easy acsses to highways. Central air and low wallingford electric make utilities the lowest around. Lived here for going on five years, and plan to stay!
