Situated halfway between Lansing and Grand Rapids, Portland is brimming with small-town charm just off the I-96 in Ionia County. Nicknamed the City of Two Rivers, Portland enjoys access to the Looking Glass River and the Grand River, both of which come together near Portland’s downtown area.
One of Portland’s main attractions is the Portland Riverwalk, which contains nine miles of trails along the banks of the Grand River and the Looking Glass River, with abundant wildlife views and connections to most of the city’s parks. The Portland Riverwalk also serves as a gathering place for Portland’s tight-knit community in addition to special events like the Fourth of July Parade and Fireworks and Portland’s vibrant downtown area. Portland residents and visitors find specialty shops, eateries, and offices in historic buildings along Kent Street in Downtown Portland as well as a sense of place and heritage.

Property Ratings at Parker's Landing
If you planning on staying more than 1 year might want to look somewhere else. I lived there for 2 years and rent went up over 500$ (150 then 352 the next),you would think they would want to keep tenants that are loyal and have never missed a pmt.
Parker's Landing has been a great place to live. Nice property, great office staff and maintenance is timely when there are issues that need to be fixed. Easy access off the highway to I-96.
When I'm not being attacked by spiders, ants, or flies, I'm dealing with the loud neighbors and zero parking spots. I noticed upon move in that my carpet along the walls was filled with dead pill bugs and other insects. The kitchen must have been designed by a 4 year old because you can't open the dishwasher, fridge, or door to the washer and dryer anytime while 1 of them is already opened. The fridge has a useless drawer that is blocked by the fridge door, which can't be opened all the way when the washer/dryer room door is closed. Also, you're going to have to wash your dishes by hand after using the dishwasher because you'll notice it leaves white spots and nasty water marks. I understand some places have hard water but this is just uncalled for. There is 1 parking spot for every apartment and 5 spots for guests. BUT every resident here has decided to use the guest parking along with their family members. You'll often see most of the awning parking spots empty for those that are too lazy to walk. The neighbor's upstairs have popped nailing in my ceiling because they are so loud. The neighbors next door have decided to be a drug den with randoms cars coming and going all the time. The worst part about it is, when asked to move into a 2 bedroom or upstairs apartment, they wanted to charge me a $1000 moving fee although I'm staying in the same apartment complex.
