Located at the intersection of Interstates 57, 72, and 74 in east central Illinois, Champaign deftly skirts the line between small town and college town. The University of Illinois largely defines the city, with nearly 45,000 students enrolled (the city’s population totals around 85,000); as a result, Champaign is home to a growing sector of tech startups and other entrepreneurial endeavors growing out of the university’s research community and recent graduates.
The rental market includes a number of highly affordable options, including many apartments under $600 per month. Expect your schedule to be packed with community events when you live in Champaign, from the popular and wide-ranging Boneyard arts festival to the Sweetcorn Festival in neighboring Urbana. As the hometown of late movie critic Roger Ebert, Champaign’s historic Virginia Theatre hosts an annual film festival in his honor.

Property Ratings at Parkland Cove Apartments
I was scheduled to have a tour, I arranged a tour saturday morning. It took me two hours to drive to the tour. Meantime, unbenown to me, the realtor sent me an email during the time I was driving to the tour, requiring that I return the email or the tour would be cancelled. Needless to say, I waited 25 minutes for a realtor that never showed.
I lived here for a year and loved it. I would have stayed longer but we decided to purchase a home this year. Other than a faulty shower curtain rod that they refused to replace, maintenance has always been prompt and often one of the owners would come out himself to check out the problem. Most issues I had were related to the apartment being brand new and certain features unfinished or missing, but those were handled usually the same day. As the other reviewer mentioned, this winter we had an issue with water flow. In my apartment it was due to the meter being frozen and not allowing water to flow through to the rest of the apartment. Very early the next morning Antonio was in my building with a space heater thawing it out. I also loved that these apartments are new, and in a quiet condo community. Get an upstairs unit if possible, as those have more room due to the entryway, staircase and balcony.
My son and his roommate have lived in these apartments since summer and the maintenance is very poor. Today is the third day they have called about not having water and still no one has come to fix the issue. When I called today I was told they are lucky their pipes did not burst like another lady and damage all their belongings. I think they have an issue with insulation in these buildings because several apartments have had problems with the frozen pipes or not water. If you own a complex, you need to make sure you fix issues of water or plumbing within 24 hours or call someone to fix it.
