Property Ratings at Parkside at Town Center
Parkside at Town Center fails to meet basic standards of quality and professionalism. Unfriendly staff, unsettling maintenance, broken AC, deplorable living conditions, and nearby homeless individuals create a nightmare scenario. Seek a better living option that prioritizes your well-being and provides peace of mind
Property Manager at Parkside at Town Center, Responded To This Review
We are truly sorry to hear about your negative feelings toward our community. We strive to provide a comfortable and welcoming environment for all residents. Please reach out to our Community Manager at jmorel@bridgepm.com to discuss your concerns further. We appreciate your feedback and hope to address these issues promptly.
I have lived at this property for greater than five years. There have been numerous managers. Some have been great while others not so good. Communication is lacking. Phone system is poor. Call and leave messages and no return call. When I call I get a message that I have a work order and I have not placed any work orders. I get a least one email a week to evaluate Maintenance department on the work they have completed in my unit. I call the office and they say I don't have any work orders. Very disappointed with current management.
Stayed here for 25 months- Middle floor, 400 series The good: Utilities like electric (cobb power) and internet (xfinity) are amazing and good. Pretty cheap too. The management staff and maintenance crew are getting better, but they’re super short staffed. The community is pretty safe, never had any packages stolen, gun shots etc., even with broken gates. The bad: The parking is horrible if you live in one of the middle units or near the soccer field. Pool randomly closed for entire weekends. The location is good, but you will make so many uturns you’ll be sick. Getting ahold of pest control is difficult. The current community is nice, but I think even the community is going down hill. The trash service isn’t bad, but if you live near the middle, you’ll hear the truck lifting the huge trash compactor every morning. The ugly: The mail system has not worked for 6 months - you have to go to the post office to get mail. Gates have been broken for months. The “gym” has almost all broken or dated equipment and it’s the size of locker room. It’s crowded with 3 people in there. Can’t easily pay rent individually with roommates. Some of the “amenities” are just gimmicks - like the “car wash area”, it’s a spicket in a wall. Overall, it’s an okay place. It’s a mixed bag of older people, kids and college students. Never felt in danger. This place is improving I think, but for the money, you can find a better place.
I can start by saying I have no idea how this place has 5 Stars. It is unprofessional and simply a dump. Reasons why you should stay away. 1. You will be paying for inaccessible amenities. The pool is closed 9 months a year, the gym that is supposed to be “24 hours” closes at 5:30pm during the week and closes earlier on Saturdays and completely closed on Sundays. The DOG PARK is a dump, pictures show grass but it is literally a dirt/mud field with 3 rusty play structures. 2. MONEY MONEY MONEY Is all they care about. They will find every way possible to charge you for something ridiculous. 3. PARKING. If you love Parking on the other side of the complex and taking a hike then This place is perfect for you, because you will not get a parking spot anywhere near your building. However, they will send you emails for 6 months straight talking about how they will fix the parking problem. Nothing has changed except my inbox having 4 emails a day from them claiming they will fix the parking problem. And I have asked them multiple times that parking hasn’t changed... their response? “You have to be okay with not parking in front of your building.” 4. They charge you for trash services to come by and pick up your trash a specific day of the week. However, they pick it up on there own time. 5. LEASING OFFICE TEAM IS DISHONEST & RUDE. We have went to them complaining about the parking (major problem) and several other problems and they will look at you and tell you they have already resolved the problem or resolving it when we nothing has changed for months. They also towed my roommates car. (he was parked in a regular spot, didn’t have his parking pass on his window because he got in a car accident days before and his car was in the shop for a couple days) they towed his rental. And instead of apologizing and maybe understanding why he didn’t have his parking pass, they told him it was his fault and he should’ve got the pass out of his recked car. And he had to pay to get the RENTAL out himself. Now while this doesn’t seem to be as bad.. the problem is that they tow cars once a week maybe 2 weeks at random. And it’s never every single car that doesn’t have a parking pass or parked illegally (or else it would be around 30-40 cars) it’s just 2-3 cars and at they leave. (Even with cars still parked on the curb and 20 other cars with no pass.. they just grab 2 or 3. And I know because I walk my dog at 5 am and see dozens of cars still parked illegally/no parking pass.
Do not let this apartment complex sucker you into a lease and take your hard earned money! I have lived here for a year and still have maintenance requests that have yet to be serviced (and was flat out told that they weren’t a priority at the time I requested them). I have made MULTIPLE complaints to office staff about the construction noise happening in the unit above me after hours - happening from 9pm and later during the week - and nothing has been done. Clearly they are not concerned about accommodating you once you are a tenant... but will put on a grand show and tour to swindle you into signing a lease and then you’re stuck. Grounds are filthy- trash, food scraps, and cigarette butts everywhere. There was literally an entire rotisserie chicken carcass dropped in the parking lot and left for days. Units are poorly insulated. They were pressure washing the breezeways earlier and there was water POURING into my apartment through the large gap between the front door and door frame when door was closed and dead-bolted. Cracks in ceilings and walls. These units are old and have not been maintained! Kitchen tile behind the stove is falling off because they tried to stick tile over existing tile. Who does that?? Laminate floorings are peeling up. My dishwasher was filthy upon move in and my unit had not been cleaned AT ALL. We were just told that we cannot receive packages in the office for 6 weeks effective at the end of this week (wow thanks for the timely notice... what if I already had a package on the way?) otherwise they will be returned to sender. There is never anywhere to park because leasing office doesn’t enforce permit-only parking or make visitors park in VISITOR ONLY spots so good luck finding anywhere to park near your building. This apartment is not at all worth what they charge. I used to live in this complex 5 years ago/2 management companies ago, and I can say this community and the upkeep of these units has gone DRASTICALLY downhill since then. I could go on and on about the poor condition and POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE HERE. I have live in several apartments in this area and I am kicking myself for coming back here. There are many other great apartment complexes nearby and I highly recommend any others besides this one.
I am absolutely in love with this complex!!! I am relocating and am a bit nervous. However, after meeting Merical, the Property Manager today I am over the moon and can't wait to move next month. My experience from my tour to the application process was handled with such ease. The location and view is wonderful and the leasing office staff was the most welcoming and accommodating I've seen during my apartment search. I look forward to my move and living in this community.
Unable to get calls back from office when leaving a messsge. Requested no notes to be placed on door use emails. They still put notes on door after multiple request for them to stop!!!!! Place an eviction notice on wrong apt door! Yes, they are new but this company has had plenty of time to get it together! First line of business for any company is their telephone communication!!!
We just moved in and we love it so far. The location is perfect. The walls aren't thin and we never hear our neighbors. Our patio has a huge gap and we're on the third floor. We don't have kids so it's fine but our five year old nephew could definitely fit through it. So if you have young kids make sure your unit doesn't have that problem.
Just moved in about a month ago and loving it so far. Everything about our experience has been nothing but perfect, couldn't ask for more. It's very quite outside, the other residents are friendly and the community feels very safe. The office staff and maintenance crew are extremely helpful, friendly and professional. All requests are fulfilled in a timely manner and everyone goes out of their way to make sure you're happy. Thanks so much to every one of you!
So far the apartment and staff here have been phenomenal!
As I was reading the other reviews, I agree with many of the positive and negative comments. Sometimes the leasing team is on point and sometimes they needs lots of follow up. The $100 fee for being 1 day late is silly and not clear. If you move in on the 28th of the month, you need another payment on the first....that was not clear during the set up. Noise is an issue with thin walls and parking is sometimes a headache. Any issues in the apartment has been met with quick response.
The Parkside team was wonderful! They work really well together. The process was stress free. The complex is very nice! Also quiet . I would recommend Parkside at Town center to any everyone. Thanks Dewayne
That was a great day in my life when i met those ladies in the office. From the first showing of that appartment i know that will be my home. I wish most of the office i went i can find people like those ladies. Thank u guys for helping me find my home and make me feel special. May God bless you all.
I do not recommend anyone moving here, although the staff is nice. With the exception of the areas that are readily visible, the ground are not keep. The breeze ways are filthy. They charge you a mandatory fee for their grounds keeper to pickup your trash from outside your door (sometimes he doesn't). I can take my own trash to the compactor, but they will not allow you to opt out. The charge is an additional $38 a month, they have approximately 300 unit, you do the math. Due to the trash being placed outside, they started to have a rodent problem. The parking is horrendous, if you are one who works night and get home late, you may be forced to park six to eight buildings from where you live, and worse yet, outside the gate in front of the leasing office. Most companies welcome consumers and prefer rent and utilities be paid electronically at no charge. Well, we were notified that effective Oct 1, 2017 they are going add a charge to pay with an electronic check - PURE GREED! The water pressure has become low; they cannot seem to tell the tenants why. Pets are allowed and some of the tenants do not pickup after their pet, sometimes you are stepping over dog poop and even pee in the breeze way. Hind sight is 20/20 . I only wish someone had warned me before I moved here! Do not make my mistake.
When you first move in, everyone PRETENDS to be super courteous. As soon as we moved in, their attitude changed 100%! They refuse to call back or fix anything, they ignore you when you go to the office, and they are completely careless. I had to request my copy of the lease because 4 months later they still didn't give it to us. The parking enforcement is a TOTAL joke, people park in handicapped spots on the daily and NOTHING happens. The floors are thin and you hear everything, including the neighbors alarm clock EVERY DAY. If we had the option to do over again, I would have moved ANYWHERE else.
Patrice was very helpful to me. She made me feel comfortable in asking her question about the apartments her. Thank You for being so helpful.
I am very very grateful for the exceptional service that I received from my apartment analyst and leasing agent miss Patricia... Thank you so much I look forward to a great experience at Parkside! # spectacular!!
Run ??!! Rent increased $350 in 2 years. Run!!!! Pool closed 9 months a year with a black tarp over it. Skip this place.
Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. This place looks great in the outside (and inside the apartment) and a couple leasing agents are very nice, BUT it's all a facade. Unless you have an a/c problem or flooding maintenance will not come to fix issues regardless how many work requests you put in or how many people in the leasing office you tell. You have to fight people for a parking spot anywhere near your building. Parking enforcement is a joke, they will never tow an illegally parked car no matter how many times you call. Heaven forbid you have a security emergency because the security officer will never answer her phone nor will she call you back if you leave a voicemail. Put aside all of that and other minor things, the main leasing agents are two-faced. They will tell you one thing then charge you later. Then on top of that instead of look into the conflicting story they argue to your face calling you wrong. Might as well call them Concast because their customer service is on the same low level "customer is NOT ever right, and DO NOT be helpful to ensure your residents are happy." You can easily find a living situation more pleasing and for a lower price if you look elsewhere. *HINT* They pay residents/give perks to residents if they write a review, so I guarantee any 4-5star rating for this apartment complex is a current resident being paid to say only good things.
I have lived here for almost a year and cannot wait to move. My top 6 reasons not to move here. I'm sure I could think of more if I tried a little harder 1. The fact that you can't break your lease under any conditions is absurd (not even being able to pay extra months to break it). They actually sent out an email basically saying even if you die your lease can't be broken. 2. The barriers between apartments is super thin. I can hear my neighbor just walking above my head and her total obsession with watching Family Feud. Right now I can hear her cell phone on VIBRATE. 3. There is not enough parking here at the building. My building has at least 20 units with only 10 spots in front. If I get home after 7 I have to park across the complex. 4. The trash area is infested with rats. They are finally sweeping the breezeways regularly after I had to complain to them that mine hadn't been swept since I moved in (this was after 7 months). 5. Note that you only have the first day of the month to pay your rent. If you forget, are sick, kidnapped, etc... they immediately charge you an extra $100. 6. They have had many break-ins since I've been here. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the maintenance staff. I was at home one day when they knocked briefly on my door then immediately tried to open it without waiting for me to answer. Thankfully I had locked the top lock so they couldn't get in. I have also had issues with them coming in to fix something and leaving my door unlocked when I left. I told the front office and their attitude was less than caring. Management here is horrible. If you are OK with feeling like you've been taken advantage of and there is nothing you can do about it then you'll be fine here. Otherwise I would advise you go somewhere else. Counting the days until I move....
Everything has been great since we moved in, we even had a maintenance emergency at 11 and were called back an hour later when we were asleep and they came early the next morning to fix the problem and fixed it in a timely manner, they are always on it and very beautiful property to live on!
Our 1 bd is spacious, comfortable and reasonably priced. I love the gated secute community, our little balcony, the pool, valet trash pick up and wonderful staff. The community is so clean and well kept. This community is a great place to call home
They have been really amazing, I called to have a few things fixed after we moved in and everything that I needed fixed was done the same day as the call, not in a few days like some places. I would recommended to anyone of my friends to live here!
This is my 3rd year living here and this place was perfect when I moved here. The train tracks are fairly close so you have to deal with some occasional noise, however the price of the place made it easy to deal with. Since I've been here, they have undergone new management. While the staff is friendly and they have drastically improved, they impose a lot of fees/rates that the old management didn't. I pay over $300 more dollars per month than I did when I first moved here which drops the rating from good to average. The area is perfect (although a bit inconvenient when driving North on Cobb as you have to turn around to access it) if you're looking for things to do. There are a lot of good restaurants and places to have fun on Barrett Pkwy which is less than a mile away. Overall, it's an okay place to live but is gotten a bit pricey.
The apartment is very classy and comfortable. They are spacious and reasonably priced. I love the pool, valet trash pick up, garered secure community and friendly staff. The whole community is well cared for and clean
I just moved in this past weekend and everything went smoothly, it was me and my girlfriend so gentlemen were kind enough to help us move our stuff in, the staff with being so busy was very attentive through the leasing and moving in process, our apartment its complete yet but we already love it so much!
Parkside at Town Center has excellent floorplans and a beautiful parklike setting. The 2 bedroom and 2.5 bath is the best floorplan with an extra large patio to sit back and relax.
