Property Ratings at Parkside East Apartments
I have made multiple police reports. The front doors, basements, and storage units have no locks. Some of the buildings here have them (only on doors to storage arenas) and our buildings tenants have all asked for them multiple times to at least put storage locks on and they have said they will, and then not. We have a pad lock on our storage cage but wire cutters aren’t stopped by a padlock. Now multiple cars have been broken into and again it is being fully ignored. When we call the police about the building storage area break ins they say “since there’s no locks, it’s not considered “breaking in” and therefore we have no way to do anything about it. We can’t even go into the main office to speak with someone about it…. You have to ring a doorbell and talk with someone through a window…
The older renter below our apartment had a HUGE bed bug issue and the bed bugs ended up throughout our whole building, but in our apartment the worst. They were coming through the drains and the vents. We lost thousands of dollars having to throw away furniture and many other items. Management failed to rectify the problem properly. We moved as soon as we could, but at that point we had lost so much including our sanity. To this day, we have PTSD from the issue. We could not afford to hire a lawyer, otherwise we would have tried to take legal action against them. DO NOT RENT an apartment here. Management is AWFUL and does not care at all.
The grounds were not kept well at all. An employee literally shut a door in my face. You couldn't enter the building and keys were dropped out of a window to me. The unit I saw was quite gross and unappealing. Stay Away.
Went here to take a tour… firstly she didn’t even come outside to greet us, she opened her office window handed us a key and pointed us to the direction of the model apartment. Then after viewing it I went to return the key in hopes of getting an application or some types of papers that talks about the apartment (while still standing outside in the rain and she’s sitting at the edge of the window) she didn’t even offer to tell us more about the apartment I even asked questions and she gave me dry answers. She didn’t seem too interested in us being there, she was no help whatsoever! The apartment was beautiful though.
I currently live here. My fiancé and I moved in in October. Overall it’s been a pretty nice place to live. There are a few flaws as the neighbors are loud (stomping and screaming) and they steal you packages (I had to start getting my mail deliver to my work) which is not the apartments fault but just bad people. The outside window was broken in our second bedroom that has yet to be fixed. Parking is a major issue. We have two cars and only one of them has a parking spot half the time and people write nasty notes on your car if they feel like you have parked in their “unassigned spot”. Overall I’ve had no issues with the apartment itself but with the people who live there.
HANDS DOWN THE WORST PLACE I’VE EVER LIVED!!!!! I’ve been at park side for a short 5 months and it has been hell. Every single month it’s something different!! My first 2 Weeks I had NO AC and had to call maintenance FOUR TIMES before it was fixed. Couple weeks later I woke up to no water. A month later I woke up to no working water again. 2 months later I went to turn my heat on, NO HEAT!! Called maintenance and they assured me it would be fixed. I got home from Work and this is now the second night I have to sleep in a freezing apartment!!! The neighborhoods steal packages, leave their trash out in the hall DAYS at a time and every in the office is unprofessional. DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!!
I have been living here for a few years now and the management is awful. They refuse to fix things that break, tell you you cant have things like grills and you are not allowed to use the pool unless they say its okay.... so basically, they do their best to control what you do, never fix anything and its a total dump... avoid this place
This is my first apartment; I moved in with my daughter and I couldn't be happier. The office staff is amazing and any time something needs to be looked at or fixed they come out almost right alway. I'm currently living in a beautiful updated apartment which looks awesome ok the inside for a gear price!
Parkside East Apartments in Sterling Heights offer the best home in the city. It's the perfect location, close to expressways, while still providing a homey feel near the suburbs. With updated appliances, a large living space, and vanity, I could not find a better apartment for a better price.
I have lived at Parkside East Apartments for over 6 years. The buildings are old and falling into different levels of disrepair. It is difficult to get repairs done and when they are done, chances are they won't be done right. I had a leak coming from my ceiling that I pointed out to management prior to moving in. I was told it will be fixed. What they did was put drywall tape and compound over the hole where the ceiling fell in from the leak and that was it. Needless to say, the problem persisted as the leak was never fixed. I called and reported this 8 times over a 6 week period. Each time maintenance was sent out and each time I was told the problem was fixed (the last time the manager got really nasty with me and informed me that it was fixed because her husband said so). The next morning, as the ceiling was leaking so bad it looked like a faucet, I took a video. Then I took it to her. When she saw it, she agreed that the leak was not fixed, but never apologized for the way she spoke to me. She did however, have the leak actually fixed that day. If you want anything fixed, you are going to have to push. It helps to have photos or video and even with that, you will still have to fight. I love most of my neighbors though.
This has been the worse place I've ever lived. The neighbors are loud and rude. Management does not care what goes on here. They just want your money.
Maintenance isn't always reliable. Rent is steep for the quality. Neighborhood is good. Pool is not well maintained. Pool also does not always open on a timely basis. Beautiful scenery though. Grounds are well kept. Most neighbors are friendly. Personally it is not for me. But for a single person these apartments are lovely.
