Seymour/Naugatuck/Ansonia is a large area encompassing a collection of neighborhoods east of the Naugatuck River. The northern section of the area is comprised mostly of forests hiding a few residential areas, but the eastern and southern portions of the community are less secluded. Highway 8 runs through the eastern section of town connecting residents to other parts of New England including New Haven, located 10 miles southeast. The highway also features commercial developments as several shopping centers are located along or just off the road. Renters will find that rental options are centered along this road as well. Apartments in a range of styles and prices are situated in proximity to the main thoroughfare.

Property Ratings at Parkview Apartments
Horrible. Paper thin walls!! You’re gonna hear the people next to you, under you, and worst of all above you!! It’s miserable! Good portion of the residents here have no respect and are lazy. They don’t pick up after their dogs so there is dog crap everywhere and the complex even provides bags. Parking can be a nightmare as residents guest don’t use guest parking and take up paid resident parking. Management doesn’t really check either because there has been cars sitting in guest parking for months without being towed. Maintenance is not very good either, there has been a hallway light out since I’ve moved in 6 months ago and it’s still yet to be changed. The halls smell like old cigarettes and mildew. Very out dated. Unit doors(in which you have to go through 3 before you get to your unit) are super heavy and slam shut very loud shaking your thin walls. So be prepared to be startled 100 times of day from people and maintenance going in and out. The doors also had silencers once upon a time but those are broken and will probably never be fixed. If you decide to rent here don’t expect a quiet little place to relax because it’s the complete opposite unfortunately. When my lease ends I will run away and never look back at the place!

Hello, Thank you for sharing your experience and bringing your concerns to our attention. We will be happy to discuss your concerns further. Please call us at (203) 916-0136 or stop by the leasing office at your earliest convenience.
I have lived here for over a year now and it saddens me to say this but the unprofessionalism this building represents is beyond me. I moved to Naugatuck to have my son in what many have told me is a great school environment which it is he loves it. Yet, the living situation at Parkview is terrible. There is no communication what so ever when you reach out to management it’s like you have to hound and harass just to get a response. They don’t care about none of the so called “Policy’s” they have in place. They allow people who don’t live in the buildings to park and take up all the slots overnight and throughout the day so residents who actually live here and pay have to park far from their actual apartment. They don’t care about all the dirty mess within the laundry room and the dog poop being all over the walk ways and grass it’s insane. I never had to deal with poor management like this and I don’t know how they can have someone like this be a manager if they can’t keep in good standing with their tenants. The maintenance suck they don’t fix anything when you request it the issues continue to come back it’s like they don’t care. Once my lease is up I’m running out of here so fast, and they had the nerve to leave letters about referring to family and friends TUH HECK NO! If zero stars was a place Parkview is that zero star they are Horrible I wish I knew the person over this manager cause they need some NEW MANAGEMENT ones with better customer service and hospitality.

We regret to hear that your recent experience was anything less than exceptional. We would like the opportunity to address your concerns. Please reach out to our front office at (214) 496-5240. We hope we can turn your experience around.
I will be reporting this complex to the health department due to a bad bat infestion. I informed them about bats on my patio a month later we call got letters of the bat infestion in the building that it will take a couple of weeks for this matter. Well Now the bats are inside the apartments. Shame on this management they are not doing anything about the situation. Had a bat in my apartment for 2 days over the weekend. I couldn’t get a hold of any one from the leasing office, person in charge of emergency maintaince, said to me he’s not allowed to handle a bat problem contacted animal control of Naugatuck they said they couldn’t do anything. We have a small child and dog we had to stay out of our apartment for two days just we can feel safe. Again must I say I couldn’t reach owners from this complex. Parkview has no remorse for this situation but want there highly rent paid on time. How can you feel safe at home while bats are flying over you while you sleep. Shame on you Parkview apartments for not caring about the safety and health of your tenants. Can’t wait till my lease is over I’m out of here.
Apartment hunting is never an easy experience. After meeting with the Parkview Apartments staff I must say it was a great experience and look forward to calling Parkview Apartments my new home. Melissa was wonderful with providing the tour of the Parkview complex and units. The grounds are very well maintained and secured. Looking forward to Hot summer days sitting by the pool and #1 attraction for me was pet friendly environment. Which is so hard to find when apartment hunting. Thank you Parkview Apartments for making my decision stressless.
What a joke. I came to Parkview and had the worst experience I've ever had looking for a place. Wish there was an option for 0 stars. They couldn't provide me a price, but insisted I give them a $50 application fee and $100 to hold the apartment. Then spoke to the manager the next day, as no one had called me back with the final price as promised. She assured me she would return my call by the end of the day. No return call, no answer when I tried to call repeatedly, no return call to my voicemail and no return email. My sister lived here years ago when her husband's motorcycle as well as 3 other were stolen out of their parking lot all in the same night.
Parkview Apartments in Naugatuck, CT, is an ideal place to rent. The apartment complex is located near downtown Naugatuck, convenently close to restaurants and shopping. The units are well maintained and secure. The grounds of Parkview are meticulously manicured and landscaped. There is a large, centrally located pool which is a great place to relax after work, with a playground nearby for families with young children. An added attraction of Parkview is its pet-friendly environment, with a fenced in dog park to allow your pooch to roam free off its leash.
Have lived here 2 years going on 3rd year stay until kids are out of school. My apartment is dated kitchen could have come from the 80's and is cramped there is no microwave nor is there room on the counter for one bought a small one and a stand and that took a good part of the dining space the appliances in the kitchen are cheap not expecting high end but dish washer doesn't ever have a spray nozzle for top rack so you constantly have to rinse cups the refrigerator is tops 150 bucks not kidding here have lost tons of food in the freezer part since it will shut off for several hours defrost everything and refeeze stuff maintenance said this is the defrost cycle nothing they can do carpet is cheap if you have kids or pets forget about trying to get a stain out of it you have one air conditioner in the whole place so need to buy your own the bathroom have no vents so constantly fighting mold in bathroom now fixtures are starting to rust as well the fees are exorbitante for being late with rent or if you want to go month to month have to watch out for these they can kill you also you can't have a grill on your deck you have to take renters insurance they have a company that is pretty resoniable however if you say your going to renew your lease they take it directly out of your checking again and don't tell you also don't lose your parking sticker they will tow your car and it will cost you 185 to get back other than that swell place to live
While looking for an apartment for a family member, I came across some pretty harsh reviews about Parkview Apartments and just wanted to share my own. This is both my and my boyfriend's first apartment. Overall, we're extremely satisfied. The staff (leasing office and maintenance) are honestly some of the nicest people to work with. Our issues with our apartment (heat) were addressed the same day the complaints were made. The leasing manager, Krystle, knows just about all of the residents by name (and their pets) which I think is commendable considering how many residents there are! As far as the complaints regarding dog feces on the premises, Parkview can only do so much about that issue. They can't walk behind every single person with a dog and ensure that they clean up after them. It's the same if you're to walk on the street and see dog feces on the sidewalk or step in it at a park. Parkview actually provides several stations of bags for dog feces so there really is no excuse (we use them all the time)! Residents just need to learn to be more responsible to ensure that Parkview continues to be a pet-friendly complex. Our only complaints are the thin walls and having only two washers and dryers in each building. However, these complaints are not enough to make us want to leave. Should we move, it would be to move closer to our jobs or to a different state. We have been at Parkview for nearly nine months now and we love the fact that it truly feels like home.

I know I wrote you a previous comment but somehow was deleted when apartments.com change there online ad. Again I would like to thank you for the kind words about me and the property and letting tenants and future prospects know what a challenge it can be to maintain a large property and keep it clean and safe for all. It is true that apartment living has its challenges and we encourage tenants to come to the office and express their feelings or issues so that we may overcome them. I try to provide an enjoyable environment and I have been working at Parkview for 9 years now so you can kind of say that I love my job and I am proud of what Parkview has become. Lastly I am with you on the issue about pets, majority of apartment communities are not pet friendly because it is an issue of keeping the property clean. We provide trash cans and doggy bags around the property and a place the dogs can run free without a leash, we love pets here and we welcome people and their four legged furry friends. Again thank you for the kind words and the insight of being a valued resident of the community.
Walls are paper thin. After living there for year they raise rent up and charge you over $2000 more if you want to pay monthly instead of yearly.
Property Manager at Parkview Apartments, Responded To This Review
Dear Anonymous, Apartment living does have its challenges and sometimes you will hear sounds from neighbors specialty if they have kids or a dog in the apartment. You share walls and ceiling/floors with other tenants but we do believe in our policies where any excessive noise is not allowed specially during quiet hours. Also you are correct about the month to month leases, once a tenant decides to go month to month they are required to pay their market rent plus an additional fee of $150 per month, which is no where near $2000 I assure you. Please call the office and I would be happy to discuss the options with you as we do offer short term leases that are less expensive.
Don't move here it's horrible. The apartments are OK. But really old. You can hear noise all the time since walls are too thin. The "repair guys" come in and out your apartment whenever they want. And the new stupid annoying rule that you have to removed your grill or throw it away. You can't have a grill. This is just plain stupid. Can't wait to move out.

Dear Resident, I just wanted to comment back on your comment listed and go over a few things if I may. Yes our property was built in 1974 and since I have been a manager here for over nine years I have upgraded units, added a dog park, outdoor grill, new pool furniture, approved the common areas and landscaping. Every year I am allowed to upgrade and add to Parkview to continue to make comparable to the surrounding areas and the lifestyle of our tenants. Recently we have asked tenants to discard or store there gas grills because of the safety. Since then I have added a charcoal grill for the inconvenience and I will be adding another picnic area and grill next summer. I appreciate the feedback and I will continue to do my best to overcome any obstacles.
Everyone was so helpful and accomodating. The area is perfect and its nice they allow dogs. The application process was easy and the office staff was so helpful. I would recommend this apartment complex to anyone looking for an affortable place to live and close to everything

Dear Kathy, Thank you so much for your review! I appreciate the comment and all the wonderfull things you have said about Parkview Apartments! We pride ourselves in making your apartment a place to call home.
We have lived here for just over a year now and we love it. The apartments are nicely kept, the upgrades are great. The complex is much better than any we had looked at. The complex is pretty quiet especially at night. The management and maintenance staff are friendly and helpful. The property is kept clean, if there is any issue, office staff do their best to address it quickly. I have let them know about a few things (lights out, minor leaks, etc.) they have always been out that day to work on it. The ladies in the office are great, it definitely has a small neighborhood feel. They love when residents stop by to visit and know everyone, they always have a warm smile for whoever walks in. I would definitely recommend Parkview Apartment Homes.
I currently live here, And i have to say i never seen such a staff from the property manager to the secetary, to maintaince that is so helpful in every way The apt complex is well kept up. if there is a issue they are rite on top of it there is no waiting around I did not have any issues but i did call with question about things and when you call they acutallly know who you are once you say hello , they go oh hi joe how are you today. that is amazing. this is a warm and comforting place to live. and i thank the whole staff thanks
Don't let a few good pictures fool you, this is a poorly kept poorly managed complex. You smell the cigarettes from the people in other apartments, the walls and ceilings are so thin everyone might as well live in one apartment. People don't clean up after their dogs. I reported broken glass and a light out on the stairs last time I checked ( 3 weeks later) nothing was done. The parking lot is poorly lit, I can go on and on.... Do yourself a favor look elsewhere .
Property Manager at Parkview Apartments, Responded To This Review
Dear Resident, I'm sorry to hear that your expereince here hasnt been an enjoyable one. We strive to make sure your stay with us is not short term but a place you can call home long term. I would would like to address the pictures vs. the actual community, we would never force anyone to live or sign a lease if they werent completely satisfied with the overall property and apartment. I remember you viewed us a few times before you made your decision. As far as the cigarette smell, we do not have central air or a connecting vent syetem, however I offered you our ozone machine to rid of any smells within your apartment and you declined. Parkview is very much a pet friendly community, most properties are not due to the difficulty of residents that do not abide by the rules and regulations. We want pet owners to have a place to call home and we will try our best to keep up on the ones that lack. Thank you keeping us informed and please let me know if there is anything I can do to make it better.
