Hoover is a neighborhood in North Fresno, far enough from the city center for residents to enjoy a quieter and more suburban lifestyle while still being only 15 minutes away from the excitement of downtown. Fresno, California’s largest inland city, sits about 150 miles east of the Pacific coast and about 40 miles west of the majestic Sierra Nevada mountain range.
The ethnic diversity of Fresno gives it a depth of heritage and makes it a hub of culture and commerce. Fresno County holds a place as the nation’s agricultural capital, with billions of dollars in annual produce sales from crops such as almonds, grapes, cotton, nectarines and peaches. People continue to seek out Fresno neighborhoods such as Hoover for their blend of character, affordability and family friendliness.

Property Ratings at Parkwood Apartments
This is my first time ever writing a review and I have had my fair share of bad experiences. I lived here for a year and it was ok but the process of moving in and out is ridiculous! They require a TWO MONTH notice of termination so be aware, yet they decide to notify you of a rent increase ONE MONTH prior? They are there to take your money and are not on your side. We had to pay the rent increase against or will and the manager was very rude and unprofessional about it. So glad I am leaving! Please look elsewhere, I am trying to help you! Plus parking sucks, so 9/10 you have to park outside the complex if you have more than one vehicle and numerous people have had their car robbed or their car windows broken! Terrible.
I like renting at Parkwood Apartments because of people like Thomas Cunningham who use to work here. Tom started out as a maintenance person and worked his way up to a management position. Tom worked here from 2011 to 2017. Tom took care of all of my apartment needs and we became good friends along the way. Tom cared about the renters here at Parkwood and he cared about the property itself. I will miss his excellent customer service and just having him around.
This is a terrible apartment complex. They withhold your security deposit for two months. They charged me ridiculous prices for work they had to do on my unit. I returned it to them very clean with very little to no work needed. Out of a 600 dollar deposit they charged me 180 to clean, 220 to paint it. In total , they told me that I would only receive 90 dollars of my deposit back. The invoices they give you have no description on the work that was done. They don't listen to their tenants and just try to blame them. There are constant car break-ins and homeless people who wander in and are told nothing by management. There is not nearly enough parking for all the tenants and if you end up parking outside you run the risk of getting your car broken into or getting a shattered window. DO NOT MOVE IN TO THIS APARTMENT COMPLEX.
The apartment complex is located near the university and there is a mall nearby. For the most part it is quiet but do be aware that many students live here because the rent is pretty affordable. Be aware they have no pet policy. The laundry rooms have been recently redone and are really nice and conveniently located. Maintenance are quick to respond when called about issues in the apartment. There are three medium sized pools available on the apartment complex. My apartments is one of the smallest one bedroom they have available so the rent is cheaper. Though the apartment is small it has a spacious living room and bedroom. For the most part it is pretty quiet in the area. Only one night have I had to call security about noise and they took care of it promptly. Overall this is a nice place to live in but do not expect luxurious apartments. The rent is cheap so expect to get what you pay for.
Apartments are really quiet and very well secured through the night. I do feel safe at my apartments considering the location it's at. I have a baby girl on the way and we're looking to get a bigger apartment or a house but if I win this then of course we'll look into just a bigger apartment. Pay my rent please...
